Easy check-in and a wonderful porch. I recommend sleeping in the downstairs bedroom with the windows open -- so cozy. It might be helpful for some to know that the house is about a 20-minute drive from the front gate, so definitely bring groceries/provisions with you!
This house was absolutely amazing. Plenty of room for all of us that were staying for baseball games. Would have loved to stay longer. Everything was as described and even better than pictures showed. Brad was very quick to respond to all my questions and very good host. Would stay again if we are in the area again
This is a beautiful house with an incredible view of the mountains! The owners were very responsive and saw to all of our needs. Our family and friends weekend get together was a big success!
We stayed for 5 days and from check in to check out it was very easy. Property was extremely clean and was easy to access. It is a beautiful neighborhood to stay in and the property itself is perfect!
Wonderful house with super layout for our family trip.

Enjoyed the location but the constant surveillance and barrage of questions was very unnerving. It was our first time to use VRBO and probably the last.

We are unsure of what you are referring to in saying constant surveillance. Big Canoe is a gated resort with gate attendants 24/7 365 days. We have a security camera above the front door that checks on our checkins just like a video doorbell. Our camera also alerts us to bears and pets. Because we do not want our guest finding a bear on there doorstep at night when you go out. And for pets, its the POA rules that all pets are to be leashed at all times. They cannot run freely. The camera alerted that there was a pet outside our home in the driveway, it was unleashed and I reminded you that your pet cannot be unleashed.
And the barrage of questions is very confusing. You asked over 20 questions related to your checkin, your guests, your stay at the house, pets, and even when you accidently cancelled your reservation and I had to contact vrbo to correct that for you. All these conversations where very cordial and polite. And you seemed to be appreciative of the help that we gave you during your reservation process to the day of checkout. VRBO is a company that handles the reservations and there system cannot be compared to systems like Airbnb. I can agree with you on that. But, your three star review, is a reflection of the home we have provided for your stay and not the VRBO service. My wife and I are home owners that share our homes and we do everything to make your stay at our homes as perfect as possible. Our past reviews show that. And this is why I think your three stars is unjustified. And your last chat with us on your day of check out was as follows.
Good morning. Everything was done on the check list, started the dishwasher and we didn’t use the outdoor trash bin. Just a note, the toaster doesn’t work. Thank you for the lovely stay.
So you can see, as well, as any other reading this review, that you didnt seem to have a three star stay, but more of a five star stay.
Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay. The house is up high in the mountains of big canoe so very peaceful and quiet. We came for July 4th week and the entire community was buzzing with activities for the kids. Plenty of space and nicely laid out for our family of 6. Kids loved the bunk room. Advice to future renters: bring some paper plates / plastic cutlery as our size family could churn through dishes. Hosts were very responsive and great so don’t be afraid to reach out if necessary.
We had a great time staying in this fine property as part of a real estate hunting adventure. This house was wonderful and very comfortable. My only complaint is that I have never stayed in a rental where the thermostat was locked and I was unable to control it. Probably a cost saving measure but we actually would have liked the heater to be not as warm at night. An icemaker in the fridge or at least a tray for making ice would have been nice too. Had to drive back out to get some and it's about 10 minutes to the gate. Again, not a big deal and easily fixed. Would stay here again.

Hello, the thermostat is locked automatically when guest leave to go into eco mode. When it senses someone entering the house, it goes into comfort mode. We do give the code or unlock remotely for any and all guest that request. So sorry that it was still locked. And yes, I do need to add an ice maker or ice trays, I will be adding that shortly. Thank you for all the input. Much appreciated and hope you come back soon.
This house is well equipped and could comfortably accommodate as mAny as two couples and four kids. It had a nice screened porch on the upper level and a nice deck below with a gas grill and outdoor table. The spectacular Mountain View advertised was non-existent with leaves on the trees and could benefit from view-scraping. I’m sure it’s very nice after the leaves fall, but advertising it as such is somewhat misleading. The property owner was very pleasant, responsive, and easy to deal with. Since we were only there for two nights, it came to over $350/night by the time the various fees were applied. It would be a better value for a longer stay. Big Canoe has multiple amenities, but with the exception of the hiking trails and the dog parks, everything else (swimming, boating, tennis, golf, health club) incurs extra charges. This is not an all-inclusive resort, but if cost is not an issue, it’s a very nice place to visit or live. Given the logistics involved in eating out ( the only restaurant on the premises weis a at the club house.) it’s probably wiser to plan to eat at home. There are a couple of restaurants nearby and plenty within a 30 min drive. The roads are well maintained but seriously hilly and twisty; definitely not for timid drivers, especially in the winter,

Thank you for the review. I would like to point out that, this house, never states a mountain view. This is possbily confused with our other house which sets at 3000 ft up the mountain on deer run ridge. This specific house is situated and nestled into the woods in the mountains of GA. You will see trees and nature such as deer, bears, and various other animals. And you will see leaves in the warmer times and no leaves in the colder times. Just check out the photos and see what you will miss.
This is a lovely place to relax and quietly work remotely or hide from work. It takes about an hour to get to most areas nearby, but our stay was wonderful and our host was exceedingly prompt and helpful with communication. Thank you for letting us rest at your home!

Thank you so much for staying at our home. Please come back soon.
Beautiful mountain top views! This home is perfectly situated on the ridge with views forever. Well-maintained, super clean, and graciously laid out with spacious rooms, this was ideal for our group of adults traveling to a local wedding venue. Would love to bring our family back during the summer to enjoy all the amenities available!

About the host
Hosted by Brad Kalinoski
I moved to Atlanta GA in 2021 from Vancouver Canada. As I made some new friends here at my home in Atlanta, I was offered to stay in one of my friends Big Canoe Airbnb for a few nights. I immediatley fell in love with the cabins, the big canoe amenities and quiet life of nature that surrounded me. And I knew that I had to live here, even if part time, and when not using my home in big canoe, I could share it with you.
Why they chose this property
This property is quiet, comfy and cozy. Its just what you want to escape and relax.
What makes this property unique
Wildlife of all types will pass by the house all day. Bear and Deer will literally pass by the house in the early mornings. The sun coming through the windows in the morning is a site that cannot be missed. Its almost heaven.
