Goldade Acres + Delirium Wilderness = Can't get much farther out than this
Hundreds of acres of bliss! Straight shot to Dorgan's Crossing for the snowmobilers and ATV. The West Branch of the Waiska (Whiskey) River runs through the property which you can hike. The camp is at the end of the road, very private backing up to the Delirium Wilderness right outside of Brimley, MI. Fantastic home base location for any day trips by car/sled/ATV anywhere mid to east of the UP. Ample parking for multiple trailers. The house is plumbed with a one 3/4 bathroom but there is a double seater outhouse, a once in a lifetime opportunity!
House amenities include large TV, leather sofa and 4 large leather recliners, and a wood stove which keeps the place toasty. Starlink provides lightning-fast Wi-Fi. Each of the 2 bedrooms has a queen size bed (pictures will be updated soon we had to change them out). There is also a cot bunk bed in the living room.
This property has been my dream and I am excited to share it with fellow wilderness lovers. Please ask any questions.

We enjoyed having such a scenic view. The pond, yard, and river was beautiful! This is a great quiet place to stay. It was like a peaceful home away from home for our family. The host, Jeff, was awesome as well. Perfect location to be in the middle of nowhere but close enough to get to Sault St. Marie within 20 minutes. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for having us at Camp Goldade!
What a beautiful property. The house was very clean and well stocked. We felt secluded, yet very safe. There is a lovely view from the front windows and we sat and relaxed every morning. The location is great for day trips to the falls, Whitefish Bay, Grand Marais, Sault Ste Marie and more. The owner is fantastic and encouraging. We were very comfortable. Thank you, Jeff, for being such a gracious host!

Not what we payed for!
This property was not suitable to be rented as it was. We found several issues and only spent one night.
1. Strong smell of bug spray upon arrival.
2. Mold on the fire wood.
3. Strong perfume smell on pillows.
These issues made it hard for me to sleep. I have respiratory issues and sleep with a cpap.
4. The refrigerator had old food in it and does not cool adequately. We had to throw away our groceries.
5. The well water smells like sewage and should be treated.
The owner did refund us a 100% of our fee with the agreement of paying first night and cleaning fees. However, the owner gave us an option in a text message to PayPal what we think we should pay. I reply that we would pay for the cleaning fees considering I had to through most of our food out and could breath because of the environment. The owner went on a rant in a text message that we found to be very insulting and frightening. We ended up paying the fee he wanted. It's not about the money but the principle of the matter. I would not recommend this property or ever rent from a hostile person of his nature again

Thank you for your feedback. I was saddened to hear that that house was not to your liking, I have sought to help provide my guests with an amazing UP experience. The firepit was installed at your request prior to your visit, I agree it is an elemental part of a UP vacation and fits perfectly with the property. The "old food" in the refrigerator included newly purchased condiments for guest use. I suspect that the trouble you had with the refrigerator involved leaving the door open, as it was and continued to be fully functional. Like most rural properties, our water is from a well and is harder water than city and has some sulfur to it. Neither myself nor my property manager was able to detect any abnormal odors within the home, thank goodness as we were worried something was seriously wrong after receiving your calls. The bedding had been washed in a scented detergent and I was never alerted from you that your family was sensitive to smells and that could be a problem for bedding. If I had known ahead of time, I would have adjusted for you to accommodate. I lost out on 3 nights bookings, and you lost out on 3 days enjoying the peace and quiet of a UP vacation. I hope the rest of your trip went smoothly once you settled into your hotel.
Kind regards,
Jeff
One of the best vrbo's I have rented. If your looking to just hang out or if you looking to get out in nature it's a great spot. We went with the intention of getting out and hiking, visiting Lake Superior, and senic things and we enjoyed. We went and saw the lock's, drove through a driving nature area, hiked, tried the dancing crane coffee shop, and saw a ton of the lake shore (whitefish bay) But, we definitely would have also been happy just staying at the house. There was wifi to stream TV, everything you need to cook, and a beautiful property. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
I stayed 3 nights with my 2 teenage girls. Everything was very clean and tidy upon arrival. The property is secluded and private. The owner was great with communication during our stay. Absolutely no complaints!
Stayed for 3 days and had a great time. The mattresses are brand new - so super comfortable. New bedding and fluffy towels. Electric reclining chairs in the living room with big screen TV. We saw a wild turkey, a few deer and a family of cranes upon arrival. The place is totally secluded, so lots of privacy, but close enough to other local attractions. Found 3 yooperlite stones at whitefish bay. Had a fire in the new fire pit and caught 7 seven fish in the pond. Released all of them so they could grow up to be big fish some day and other visitors can catch them. Best time to fish is at dusk. Good and friendly communication with the owner Jeff. Nice job Jeff.
My family had a great time while renting this property. When we pulled into the drive, there were 3 cranes in the yard. My boys were impressed. The property is definitely rustic but that is what we were going for. It's in the middle of nowhere but within 15 minutes to food, the casino, and activities. The house was clean and there was everything you could possibly need on-hand including a blender, coffeemaker with coffee, condiments, and hair dryer, which was a lifesaver since I forgot mine. The grounds are beauiful with a pond that my boys were able to catch catfish in as well as trails to explore nature. I read the other reviews and was surprised when one said they had issues due to CPAP. My husbamd also wears a CPAP and had no issues He actually slept better than he usually does in a hotel room because the beds were very comfortable. I did not notice any out of place snells, The well water had a sulphur smell to it but that is normal for well water and a pur water filter was on the kitchen faucet Regarding the previous review stating the fridge did not work, I had the complete opposite experience I had turned the fridge to it's coldest setting and had to turn it down because it was too cold. After some tweaking, it worked perfectly. The Starlink internet was on point and fit everyone's needs during our rainy day. This would also be a great place for someone who wants to spend time in nature yet work remotely. Overall, the experience was awesome, my kids didn't want to leave, and my husband was able to reset in nature while teaching our kids to fish before heading back to a busy sales job. The owner even let us extend our time for a few hours so the kids could fish and we could wait until morning to pack before leaving. He was nothing but welcoming and professional. The only thing I thought could improve the stay would be to maybe put a second window A/C unit in the 2nd bedroom because it was a little stuffy unless the door was open, but it was minimal. Thank you for the refuge.
We had the most amazing time during our stay. The host Jeff is amazing and does a great job keeping in touch to make sure everything is great for your stay. The property is amazing, clean, and peaceful. We can not wait to visit again.
If you are looking for a beautiful place to escape everything while having all you need at hand, this is the place. I took my family (wife and 4 boys) to this property for an UP vacation to show the boys the beauty of the UP. It was perfectly located between the Soo and paradise. Tons of things to do including combing the beaches in the area for rocks. Jeff was a fantastic host and reached out during our stay to ensure everything was well. The cabin had everything we needed for. 4 day stay. The boys enjoyed fishing on the pond and nearby stream. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful setting, so peaceful and remote. The house is clean and has all of the necessary amenities for a relaxing weekend in the wilderness. Felt like glamping with the comfy beds, fresh sheets, and AC. Love the windows on all three exterior living room walls. Every morning I picked a comfy chair and a cozy blanket and drank coffee facing the peaceful pond. Watching the wild world wake up. It feels like you’re the only person for miles and yet you’re so close to hiking trails and tourist sites. We particularly enjoyed Iroquois Point Lighthouse, Dancing Crane Coffeehouse, Sugar Daddy Bakery, Tahquemenon Falls, and Oswald Bear Ranch; as well as the many Lake Superior beaches a stone’s throw from our base camp. Jeff was great to work with and made the whole experience feel like staying at the cabin of a close friend for the weekend. Can’t wait to go back!
