The house was excellent and had whatever you needed. It was off the road but a house was a little ways up the road in front of it. There was kayaks and paddles plus wheel carriers because it's a good walk down a hill. But it was all grown up down where you could get on the lake. The weeds were knee high. We took our dog and thought it could play with one of us while two others take the kayaks out but we would have to stand in the weeds and drag kayaks through 50 ft of weeds. So needless to say we didn't get to kayak or have access to the lake. I planned on a budget with in mind to have everything we wanted to do was there. Had a nice stay (and with our pet) but was expensive to just stay in another house for two nights. Also if you want to play cornhole you need to take your own bags three of them were busted opened. They are left out in the weather.

Beautiful place

We very much enjoyed our stay at the lake house. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing weekend. We hope to come back sometime!

Great weekend

Family stayed an extended weekend and it was sooo relaxing. It’s a little ways out from the nearest town, but that’s great for me. Quiet and peaceful… grilled steaks and just enjoyed our time together. Recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat!

The cabin was beautiful and peaceful. The owner was very attentive and quick to respond when needed. The property was fun to explore. My family of 4 and mini bulldog had a wonderful time.

BEAUTIFUL GETAWAY

Just what we needed - a beautiful weekend. Cabin was beautiful and beautiful property. Very clean - and had everything we could possibly need. I wish it was closer to the lake - it was a steep walk down to the river - but beautiful.

Beautiful and Peaceful

We loved our stay here! Perfect escape for peace. Very beautiful cabin to come relax in. My boys loved the big yard to play football also loved it was pet friendly. the fire pit was nice at night. We also enjoyed the kayaks,and the lovely front porch to hear all the nature sounds We hope to come back for another stay!

Great house!

The house was very clean and very well stocked with everything you could think of. Not the lake access I was expecting but my little one loved exploring when we weren’t out on a boat or at the state park on the beach. Very nice cabin!

Thoughtful owners

It’s a great cabin tucked away in the woods with all the comforts of home. The owners have thought of every detail from the great cookware for the grill to extra phone chargers in the nightstand. Really felt like we were staying in a friends home.

A cozy cabin with great outdoor space

Our family had a wonderful time on this property. Cabin had everything we needed. The yard is large with lots of space for activities. One of the best fire pits, we used it every night. And so quiet. A great retreat. We did Mammoth Cave one day and rented a pontoon boat one day. Barren Lake is beautiful.

Wonderful cabin in the woods!

We had an outstanding time at lake barren and our stay at the cabin was incredible. The photos don’t do justice for what the cabin really looks like. We will use this cabin again when we come back to lake barren. Very clean and has lots of amenities.

We had such a relaxing stay here! Everything was comfortable and clean. Very secluded property. We had a fire outside and roasted marshmallows, enjoyed walking in the woods down to the lake, and just got a lot of much needed R&R. Kitchen had all the pots and pans I needed for cooking, and we also grilled one meal. WiFi worked great which was perfect because we had two sons on fall break from college who still had some online work to do, and my husband had a work emergency he was able to do online. It was an easy drive to cave city to take a cave tour as well. Beautiful home and property. Thank you for sharing it!

Great house for family

This was a great property for our short family vacation. There was enough room for our teenagers to have some space but was cozy and kept our family together for games and fun most of the time. We didn’t get to use the outdoor space as much as we’d hoped because it was very hot and humid but we did enjoy evenings on the porch. The walk to the lake access was steep but manageable- a bit tricky with the kayaks but nice to have that option!

Beautiful Cabin

This cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed and more. We stayed here with family and friends. We had 4 kids (ages 8-14) and our 2 dogs. They had so much fun around the yard and in the cabin playing games and exploring. We rented a boat for a day on the lake and had a great time at the firepit at night. We felt safe in the cabin with the security system in place. The cabin was also very cozy and clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Peace

We really enjoyed the stay in this beautiful cabin in the woods. It was clean and comfortable. It was stocked with just about everything we needed. We chose to stay here as a family instead of booking three hotel rooms in town for the same amount of money. It a much better atmosphere and a space where we could all be together comfortably. We loved the peace and quiet this home offered.

Wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful weekend at this lakehouse. We didn't stay long and didn't get to enjoy all the amenities, but we were happy with the room set up and kitchen. The lakehouse was clean, and I liked all the starter kitchen items and toiletries. Something happened during the previous guest's stay, and the owner was quick to relay that information and offer a fix. The owner was quick to respond to questions which was very helpful! We would definitely stay again!

Peaceful

We spent the weekend of my wife's 50th birthday here. Her first wish when planning a trip was she wanted to go somewhere peaceful and serene. This property definitely made her wish come true. The house is actually nicer in person than the pictures portray. It had everything we needed and then some to be comfortable. It was extremely clean and well appointed. We were able to spend several very relaxing days here and would like to go back. The owner checked in on us and was very gracious. If your looking for a peaceful getaway, choose this property!!

Peaceful

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Dave B.'s. The house is at the dead end of a gravel road so no one passes by. The house is well-stocked with all kinds of supplies. We availed ourselves of the fireplace and the Smart tv. Dave reminded us that there are no stores within a 20 minute drive so we were well-prepared with groceries. All of the light switches are labeled. Very helpful. We hope to come back next year, as do our dogs. They loved romping freely in the large yard and their leashed strolls along the road. There is a short looped walk further down the Settlers Way. Tens across the board.
