Come visit at this updated 1930's beach bungalow.. 5 blocks to main street shops & the beach. First Floor master, living (with gas fireplace), dining room (sits 6-8), kitchen and 2 baths down, with large bunky loft upstairs that sleeps 6+ with its own full bath, living area kand walk in closet. Take a stroll/ride to the beach, hose off in the outdoor shower, grill & dine on the deck/patio & cozy up to a fire. After a day in the sun relax in the clawfoot tub. Staying the week and working remote? Work space ready for you too! And an updated kitchen and laundry space to round out your home away from home! Netflix and prime tv included on all TVs (message if you need log in and it was logged out. New bike cruisers, paddleboard, outdoor games. life jackets, and new gas grill (submit receipt if youneed to refill propane) & charcoal grill in shed. **kayaks are currently awaiting repair and not available for use but you can rent all sorts of things from Poseidon water sports near the Shanty *SUNDAY to SUNDAY bookings in Summer only

We had a very comfortable stay with our dog. The neighborhood is very walkable and pet-friendly. The beds and furniture were all very comfy. Close to restaurants and shops in the downtown area.

Beautiful Bungalow

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful bungalow. It was especially nice having a fenced in back yard for our doggies to enjoy. Very close to the bay and restaurants. This is a little gem in Cape Charles. It was bigger than I thought from the pictures, yet cozy and very welcoming. Christina was a fantastic host and very helpful with recommendations. This is a great place for families of all ages!

THE CUTEST BEACH HOUSE

This is the cutest little house in Cape Charles. Beautifully decorated, everything you could possibly need was provided. Great outdoor space with a fire pit for smores at night. So close to everything. Really good location. We rented a golf cart, but could have easily walked to downtown and the beach. Very quiet street and everyone around was super friendly. Host was excellent with communication. Don't miss out on this one!

Charming, clean and cozy

Great house - so clean, charming and cozy. Perfect spot for enjoying all that Cape Charles has to offer. A warm and welcoming home away from home with so many special touches throughout, which made R&R immediate and lasting. Loved the first floor master and easy access charging cord for the golf cart (a CC Ryder golf cart is a must have for the total Cape Charles experience) We miss it already and hope to visit again.

Great Time on the Cape

The owner was very responsive to any questions I had about the property. The property was clean and a joy to stay in and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. Close to the heart of the town and the beach, however I recommend renting a golf cart for ease of travel. Book the golf carts early because they run out of inventory quickly. It was the perfect place to relax for a week.

Best rental ever!

This thoughtfully designed, comfortable, clean and well stocked house is the best VRBO I’ve ever rented. For the first time ever I didn’t want to leave and tried to schedule for the same time next year. (But it’s already booked) For such a small house it lives comfortably for a family of six. I also have to say the beds/pillows are comfortable!

Sweet getaway cottage

This was a quick trip planned to be a restful short getaway and this cottage was perfect for that. It’s beautifully appointed, and has pretty much everything you could need in the way of amenities. Location is great, outside of town but very close, with quiet streets to meander around and just a few blocks from beach access. The fenced yard was a plus for our pups, and communication with owner was top notch. We felt that housekeeping may be rushed and the home could use a deep cleaning, towels in the upstairs bath were folded up and still wet. We would stay here again- the pluses far outweigh any negatives.

Perfect Timing and a beautiful place

My partner and I had booked this place as an early anniversary celebration, and then our area was hit very hard by Helene and we had no power or water. I am so grateful we had this place to stay. The host was so communicative and went above and beyond to help us out. The place is absolutely beautiful, so cozy and well stocked and clean, very close to the beach, and good break. Lucky to be able to enjoy some hot showers in a very cozy and well appointed home before heading back to our home. Very grateful for this spot and for the host, and I hope to get to come back to cape Charles under less stressful circumstances. Highly recommend this place ❤️

Picture Perfect Family Beach Vacation

We recently had the pleasure of staying at “Down by the Bay” in Cape Charles with seven of our family members. This beautiful home became the backdrop to a truly memorable family vacation. While the photos on the VRBO listing are captivating, they hardly do justice to the home’s real-life charm. The layout is practical and inviting, perfect for families, and it’s evident that Christina, the owner, has poured her heart, soul, and keen design sense into restoring this historical gem. Every amenity we could have wished for was available, making our stay comfortable and hassle-free. We’re already looking forward to our visit next year. Highly recommended!
