About this property

Cornfields and Cane - Retreat and relax on beautiful Cane River Lake.

Watch the sun rise over the cornfield while you enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch. Beautiful sunsets in the evenings overlooking the lake never disappoint.

Bringing your boat? There is a public boat launch a quarter of a mile down the road. Take a 30 minute leisurely boat ride to Front Street and enjoy the festivities.

If you are driving into town, we are 8 miles to Front street.

The indoor kitchen is fully stocked. The griddle in the outdoor kitchen is out of commission, however there is a charcoal grill for your use.

WiFi is available and you may use streaming apps to watch television, however cable tv is not offered.

The home provides ample room to bring the family. There’s nothing fancy here, but peacefulness is found in the simplicity of our home and the tranquility of the water.

Swimming is allowed at your own risk. Kayaks are on site along with life jackets. Kayaks can be used at your own risk.

Security cameras are on site capturing entrance gates, pontoon boat, boat dock, and rear entrance of the house.

Weekend getaway

This is a great place to stay. The pictures do not do it justice. The front porch and back patio are awesome. The view of cane river is gorgeous as you relax and unwind on the back patio. Highly recommend this place!!!!

Amazing Stay

The house was exactly as described, and the property was absolutely beautiful. We had all we needed for a very relaxing weekend. The guys spent the days fishing while the ladies enjoyed reading on the back porch. I definitely plan to visit again.

Peaceful getaway

I really enjoyed my time here. I was able to relax and read on the back pouch and listen/watch the birds. The place was perfectly located just a short drive into town. A lot to see and do in town.

Perfect stay

This property was truly a wonderful place to meet with family. The house was extremely clean, welcoming, and spacious. We had everything we needed, as well as a spectacular back covered patio overlooking the Cane River. We enjoyed so much the time to visit as well as sight-seeing in and around Natchitoches.

Beautiful property, on the water! I enjoyed waking up with a cup of coffee and sitting by the fire while reading a book. We enjoyed fishing and kayaking in the day! The house was clean and came stocked with everything you need! Only about 15 minute drive into town.

Great place to stay!!!

This property is great for pretty much any type of guests. Nice and quiet and away from the hustle and bustle but only 15 minutes from stores and restaurants. Also, an easy drive to Natchitoches. The house has lots of room, comfortable beds, games, and large front and back porches. The back porch overlooking the lake is the perfect place to relax. There are bird feeders so we were able to sit back and watch them come and go. The boat launches are close and the boat dock was convenient for the guys to stop in for lunch and then go back out. Great place to stay.

Perfection On The Lake

Not only was this property perfect for me and my family but the host, Nicole, was the sweetest person you would want in a host. The location was very convenient, the property was super clean, the beds slept comfortably, and the view of the lake was absolutely breathtaking. We will definitely be back! Everything we needed.

Cornfield & Cane was exactly as advertised. The home was spacious and clean, having all of the comforts of home. The covered patio was comfortable even on one of the hottest days on record. It is equipped with lots of ceiling fans and furniture comfortable enough to sleep on. Nicole made check in so easy. We especially enjoyed the 3:00 check in and the noon check out. We definitely want to come back soon!

Cane River is the place to be

While Cane River is the place to be, this property is the place to stay if and when it’s available. You WILL NOT be disappointed. The check-in was flawless and easy. When you opened the door, you could tell the owners loved their home. It’s was very clean and they were nice enough to have the house bone chilling cold, (just like I enjoy my house) waiting for us. Our family will definitely TRY and rebook this house when we have family events on Cane River.

A peaceful retreat

This house has everything you need. And the host goes above and beyond with accommodations. We felt like we were at home. Being right on the river was amazing. We enjoyed coffee on the porch in the morning and watched the sun rise. My husband did a little fishing off the dock and we had fresh catfish for dinner. Our last day it rained constantly and I’m so glad we were at this property. We just sat and enjoyed it. It was the perfect end to our 10 day trip in Louisiana. We will definitely stay here again when we return.

Best rental on the river

We rented this property for the second time to spend the 4th of July with family on the river. Checking into the house is so easy, The house was VERY CLEAN when we arrived. There was no real need to contact the property manager for anything serious, when we contact her for personal questions she was easy to contact and replied almost instantaneously. The only issue we had, which wasn’t a huge issue for us, was the WiFi was very spotty, and when trying to get kids wound down at night, the tv had issues connecting to WIFi. 10 star rating for this stay.

Perfect for us!

I highly recommend the property! It was perfect for my elderly parents and me. The house and property are as described. Very spacious for a large family. The property is so peaceful. The front and back porches are amazing (my favorite parts of the property). We spent many hours sitting on the back porch enjoying the water and birds. Lawn is well manicured. House is so clean and well-stocked. The beds, sofa and recliner were very comfortable. Air conditioners worked well. To top it all off, Nicole was so lovely and kind! Thank you, Nicole, for allowing us to stay. We look forward to visiting again.

Relaxed on the river

Great property with an awesome location on the Kane River. The outdoor deck was wonderful, sat and watched the birds and the river. Home was very comfortable and clean, and the host was extremely responsive to a few requests we had. Would recommend and would stay there again.
