Clean inside, hot tub was working and felt clean. Host is automated messages but check in was fine. Shared dock was nice but not very swimmable if that is what you are looking for. There are a ton of spiders and birds on or in the house. Very close to the road making it noisy. Construction started at 7am sharp Thursday through Saturday. Power outage around 9pm on Friday without warning lasted the entire night into the morning. (“Fire Prevention”) was the cause. Big Bear was incredible not a bad stay at all but doubtful to return to this location.

Wifi connection was poor. Fireplace had poor draft and was smokey. Not as close to lake as listing seemed to indicate. Quaint- appropriately priced

Amazing place that has everything and still maintains that cozy cabin feel!

Loved the entire stay! Perfect mix of cozy cabin/lake house, with all the amenities. I did have to, change a few light bulbs (found some new ones in the kitchen cabinets), call the manager and have a technician treat the jacuzzi (super helpful and professional; took care of it quickly and to my satisfaction), and re-light the living room furnace pilot light 5 times. There were also some ants in the kitchhen from time to time. Absolutely loved the central AC for the hot days. Proximity to, the lakefront, the Village, Big Bear Marina, everywhere/everything, is ideal. Overall really enjoyed our stay, and will definitely come back next year!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Destination Big Bear, and for taking the time to leave a review. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and found our cabin cozy and comfortable. Thank you also for bringing the issues you encountered to our attention; we appreciate your feedback and will be sure to pass it along to our team. Unfortunately, it is ant seasons and we are experiencing sightings in some of our homes. We appreciate you notifying us of this issue and will do our best to control and prevent them. Sadly this is what we see in living in the mountain. Glad to hear they were able to get the spa situated for you during your stay. We hope that you will choose to stay with us again in the future!

Heater problem

We had a great time and really like the location but we had a big problem with the wall heater that was most important in winter specially with the kids. Also inside of the the kitchen‘a cabinets were messy and we couldn’t find what ever we need.

Cramped.

House is very tight to move around. Lighting is bad in kitchen, Hard to make dinners. Had to climb over chairs to use kitchen table. Construction next door was very loud ALL DAY every day we were there.

Great retreat

Overall, it’s a lovely place to stay. I would definitely come back. Only a couple of issues … The toilet upstairs sounds like the water is running even when not in use. The jacuzzi style spa jets only work intermittently as well as the internet connection even though we were connected to WiFi. All else was inviting. Very spacious and clean. We especially enjoyed the pool table and piano (even sheet music provided!). Just a short walk to the lake, but fishing there is not ideal, very mossy. The Destination Big Bear staff made check-in and out very easy. It was a memorable time.

Inside of home was covered in spiderwebs. There were used paper plates and napkins underneath the hot tub, there was a bag of dog poop at the bottom of the stairs and we found dog treats on the floor (we did not bring a pet), the surfaces were not clean. It was obvious that the place had not been cleaned thoroughly.
