Convenient and comfortable!

The location of this property is perfect! Being able to walk to the beach was awesome. The beach chairs provided worked great as well. Mark was great to communicate with and the property was very comfortable. We would stay here again!

Nice 2 bedroom condo

This nice condo was very quiet and had all the amenities we needed for our golf weekend. Nice furnishing. Nice quiet area tucked away from all noise, but a short walk to the beach.

Ideal for a getaway

The condo was exactly how it was posted. Clean and well taken care of. We wanted a short quiet getaway and it exactly what it gave us. The walk to the beach was so easy and close. We would definitely come back and stay again.

Lovely property in walking distance to amazing beach access

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Island Retreat. It was spacious, clean, bright and cheery and the location was perfect for us. The property came with a beach cart, beach towels and chairs which was super helpful (less to pack!). The walk to the beach was about 7 or so minutes which wasn't a big deal with the cart and the beach access/facility was probably one of the nicest I've ever been to. We have no reason to look elsewhere for a rental when we come back to HH.. Can't wait to return!

Thoughtfully Done

We reserved the condo for a destination wedding. It was ideally located for the Westin venue. I am a bit of a perfectionist, so I look for the details. I could tell that someone had put in a lot of thought into the quality of the furnishings and decorating details. One of the things I most appreciated was the lack of decorator items that fill all the table and counter spaces providing those traveling with their myriad items with a place to put them. The welcome packet was also very thorough. I would definitely book it again.

Clean and spacious

This unit was clean and spacious. It wasn’t too far from beach access. We had plenty of room to spread out and relax during our stay. The only drawbacks are the sound, the automatic outdoor lights, and the pools. It’s easy to hear the neighbors upstairs and next door. Additionally, the automatic lights outside made sleeping a bit more difficult. This could easily be remedied with drapes. Finally, the pools mentioned do not seem to be part of this particular complex. They are nearby, but clearly marked for residents in neighboring areas. We were there for the beach, so that wasn’t a big concern for us.

Very nice unit

The unit was very nice and comfortable. The listing stated that there was a beach umbrella to use and we were disappointed to find that there was not an umbrella there. Not specified on the listing, but sent to us just prior to our visit was more material about the unit and other general information. This information stated that we could use the outdoor pools at The Westin, but this was not the case. Entrance to theses pools required a green band. This was also a little disappointing.

Nice listing and location

Pros: The property was very clean and the location was great (walking distance to the beach was a huge plus). The online description and pictures were very accurate. Checking in and out was very easy. Cons: The view from the back deck, although expected, really was an eyesore. Although it discouraged me from utilizing the area for my morning coffee, it wasn’t a deal breaker. I read reviews about the noise from upstairs occupants but figured, how bad could it really be? Oh my goodness, it was REALLY BAD!!! I was awakened several times by heavy stomping/running/moving furniture (not sure what was happening). A couple of nights I tried to wait them out before going to bed, but the noise literally lasted for hours. No voices or loud music, just very loud footsteps. This was absolutely a deal breaker for me. Although overall the property was very nice, clean and well suited for me and my family, I would not stay here again solely because of the noise. Hilton Head for me is for rest and relaxation. Unfortunately, that was quite challenging every night.

Interesting Experience

This property is in a great location with great access to amenities. It is in a nice complex, but directly behind the building there are like 8-10 severely abandoned tennis courts. The previous office is boarded up, the weeds significantly overgrown. It is an interesting eye sore for the area. Anyways, the owners of this property are great. The communication upfront was wonderful, helpful tips and information sent in advance. We were very excited about the unit heading into our stay! Initial impression was that the unit was dated, kitchen with minimal supplies. However, it worked well enough for the week and had nice pools and beach access. Even with 4 young children, the walk to the beach was short enough. The unit is well stocked with beach wagon, beach supplies, and beach towels. Unfortunately, we did end up having an issue with the cleanliness of the unit (bug infestation). The owners communicated well and did their best to take care of the issue, but ultimately it was a true interruption to our stay and stressful to deal with. Again, the unit itself works well for a family with young children like us, and I am optimistic that after our experience the owners will try hard to prevent the issue for future guests.

Great location for a small family vacation. Clean and very comfortable villa. The unappealing part of my stay were the noisy guests/tenants above the villa and the aggressive mosquitoes that kept getting inside the villa. It can get noisy if guests above are not mindful above the guests staying under them. Lastly, it was a little confusing about who could use the Westin shuttle and there is construction going on that currently interferes with peaceful bird watching if you are interested in doing that. The beach was still a convention short walk. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation in a great location and I do recommend that you stay there for a family of 4.
