Escape to the San Juan Islands in this peaceful waterfront cabin on Orcas Island’s North Shore.
With an open layout and floor-to-ceiling windows, you’ll enjoy serene views of the Salish Sea and the mountains beyond whether you’re relaxing in the living room or soaking up the sun on the wrap-around deck.
Our relaxing getaway cabin features two bedrooms and a large loft, full kitchen and bath, boho-vintage touches, wood stove, electric heat, dining table for six, flat screen TV, and plenty of books and games. Outside, the large deck with BBQ is the perfect place to unwind and drink in one of our spectacular North Shore sunsets.
The two bedrooms feature queen sized beds and the high-ceilinged loft has a king sized bed. The well-stocked kitchen contains a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, microwave, electric stove/oven, toaster, kettle, and all the cookware you’ll need to create that quintessential Pacific Northwest meal.
We have free high speed Wi-Fi for those wanting to do a bit of work from “home,” or if you simply want to curl up in the evening with your favorite show.
In the summer months, you’ll want to keep our binoculars on hand as bald eagles, great blue heron, seals, and otters are frequently spotted in the area. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of an orca or porpoise pod traveling through!
Our family has made many great memories in the Sunset Cabin over the years, and we’re so excited to be able to share it with you!

While we welcome children at Sunset Cabin, please keep a close eye on them. There are several hazards for little ones on the property. The cabin is perched atop a rugged hillside with no fencing. The grounds are steep and the wild vegetation can be thorny. Inside the cabin, the stairway to the loft is long and has no mid-point landing. My family and I had a delightful stay at the Sunset Cabin, which is located in a peaceful neighborhood yet within a quick drive or long walk of the shops and restaurants. I had the best time there and cannot wait to return!
We had a lovely weekend. The cabin is comfortable and kitchen is easy to use. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and walked to the sandy beach just a block away
Our second time staying at the property. Wonderful location - an easy walk to Eastsound. Amazing views from the deck and inside the cabin. Great communication and everything in the listing was accurate.
The sunset cabin was a lovely place to call home base while we explored Orcas Island and the communication with the property manager was above and beyond!
House was very clean and comfortable, fully stocked, and the views and deck were outstanding. The host was quick to respond to any questions and was very helpful.
I've stayed twice with my two 11 yr old boys, and we've had a blast each time. Easy beach access from the backyard and a straight walk/drive into town make this one of the best properties in Eastsound. Upstairs loft is fantastic, and looks out over the water.
Wonderful house with great views of Sucia Island and mountains. Easy walk to town from the home with public paths the entire way.
Great communication with the host and just a wonderful place to take a vacation.
We loved the location of this property with the views of the water and proximity to East Sound. This place was spotless and had everything that we needed. Great communication with the owner and property manager. We’d definitely stay here again!
What a beautiful view at this waterfront sunset cabin! We loved it, the location was private & peaceful with plenty of birds & wildlife to observe. The house was clean & well stocked. We walked to Eastsound everyday, an easy 25 minutes & absolutely loved the beautiful sunsets. Owner & manager were very helpful, we hope to return soon.
Wonderful cottage in excellent location close to Eastsound. Carissa even emailed us to say Orcas were traveling by if we happened to be there, which we were. Excellent.
The cabin was very private. Kitchen was well setup. Down stairs right bedroom had a roll to the middle, too soft mattress. Firewood was wet, but that was okay. Used heaters. Fresh cut dahlias were a welcome personal touch. Everything was ready and stocked for our stay. It was spotless clean! Thank you!
Great house! Wonderful view of the water. Hundreds of books to read and great games for the kids to play. Would definitely recommend for a family trip. Access to the beach was awesome for the kids to look through the many rocks on the beach. Saw a few bald eagles in the back yard!

I grew up on Orcas Island and moved back in 2016 ago to raise my family here. My dad built the Sunset Cabin in the 80's and my family has enjoyed many cherished moments here. We are excited to share this special place with all of you!
