This delightful cottage has a casual, California coastal style. Its "Prime" location lets you walk to the Village and discover art galleries, unique shops, and great restaurants. Enjoy the Free Trolley to take you to all your favorite spots in Laguna and also services coast highway to Dana Point and back, with stops at restaurants, galleries, and shopping.
This stylized living single-level home offers three spacious bedrooms, two large baths, and will provide for 7 adults. Entertain in the living room featuring the warmth of a gas brick fireplace, smart TV, fast Internet WIFI, and soft leather sofa and lounge chairs for you to relax and enjoy. Awesome stay

Hosts were extremely accommodating and this home was comfortable and very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beach was a short walk away. We would stay here again.

50th Birthday Vacation

I was born in Laguna and wanted to celebrate my birthday with my family. My parents and sisters stayed at the home with me. It was a beautiful home very close to the beach in a quiet, upscale neighborhood. I couldn't have asked for a more lovely place to enjoy my birthday the hosts were very helpful and responsive. It was a wonderful experience. 10 accommodations!

Great little cottage by the sea

Easy access to a quaint comfy cottage with partial oven views. Clean and organized. Driveway parking. Easy walk to great beach and tide pools. Free trolley but also nice walking to restaurants and shops. Highly recommend. Do 5 of us no problem. Nice front porch with a view for morning brew and computer work. WiFi was great as well.

Great for families!

Roger and Karen made our stay a breeze! We especially appreciated use of the beach chairs, towels, and toys. Location is perfect for an easy walk to two beautiful beaches and grocery store. Nice and quiet neighborhood.

Laguna Vacation

This was a perfect place for a vacation! Short walk to Crescent Bay Beach and Shaw's Cove Beach. Lots of fun beach toys/chairs/umbrellas. Great kitchen with lots of dishes and utensils to cook with. Kids had a fun time and adults loved visiting on the from porch!

Wonderful location with accessibility to Laguna Beach proper and surrounding environs. Easy, quick walk to Shaw's Cove Beach is a big plus. Front porch has direct view of the ocean and is a great spot for unwinding. Commodious house for family or group retreat.

A Perfect Location

This quaint Laguna Beach cottage is in the perfect location, on the ocean side of Highway 1, to experience all the town has to offer. Shaw’s Cove is just steps away as is the free Laguna Trolley that will take you to town. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch with a view of the beautiful blue ocean. We will stay again !

Beautiful setting, spacious home

This was our fourth summer staying at this lovely beach residence. It has ample room for our family and is always clean and spacious. New ceiling fans in all of the bedrooms were a great addition this year. Our family especially enjoys the outdoor eating area where we can comfortably gather for meals. The owners provide beach chairs, towels, sand toys, and boogie boards, which makes travel easier. The beach is just a quick walk away. I can’t say enough about this lovely home. We’ve already booked for next summer.

Lovely North Laguna cottage

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful cottage. There is everything you could possibly need provided in a very cosy home. The location is perfect - steps away from Crescent Cove (our favourite beach) and a very scenic 15 minute walk along the cliff path to the main town. We have stayed in many locations previously in Laguna but think the North is our favourite now. Best memory - sundowners on the front veranda 😎🍸

Lovely beach home

This is a great rental for families with easy access to the beach, spacious accommodations and a large patio area for outdoor dining. The front patio has an ocean view. The owners are quick to respond to questions or concerns and offer numerous amenities, such as beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, and board games. We love that there’s plenty of room to build puzzles, play games, and relax comfortably. This was our second summer to rent the cottage, and we hope to stay again next year!

Thanksgiving in Laguna Beach

Our 6 night stay at the Woods’ charming and perfectly appointed “cottage” was absolutely fantastic. The setting, the views, the appointments - all were first rate. Beds were comfy, kitchen had every gadget and cooking utensil one could think of, bathrooms were spacious and the views from the porch, dining room and living room were spectacular. The icing on the cake was the 3 minute walk to the beach, especially because the Woods provide everything needed for a wonderful time by the ocean, including chairs, water games, towels and boogie boards. We are already looking ahead to another stay.

A Charming Cottage near a Stunning Cove!

We stayed a week in August at Roger and Karen's Shaw's Cove Cottage and truly loved our vacation. From the moment we pulled up we knew that this cottage was loaded with charm. The cottage is an original craftsman type home on a spacious lot with an ocean view from the front porch. the Cottage has a wood foundation and is well furnished throughout. The windows are the original single pane and Roger and Karen have done an amazing job to preserve the look and feel of a California beach cottage. The cottage can be found in the nicest part of Laguna, near Shaw's cove and Crescent bay. This location is among the best in Orange County near the pristine coast line and it turns out that La Brea Ave. is very quiet and peaceful. Our family of 4 had plenty of room at the Cottage; the kids 12 and 14 each had their own bedroom my daughter had 1 of 2 full bathrooms. Roger had all the beach gear for us, chairs, umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards, snorkeling gear etc.. Our family went to the beach every day. Snorkeling at Shaw's cove is excellent with visibility of 10-15 ft and plenty of fish to look at. At low tide we explored the tide pools which were amazing and filled with ocean wildlife. This stretch of coast line from Crescent Bay to Heisler Park is truly amazing as you can see contrasts of colors, the turquoise ocean, blue skies, black rocks that guard the coves, stunning cliffs, golden brown sand and crashing waves, a truly magical place. The beach at Shaw's cove is perfect for families, its a sandy beach and at times has small waves that are fun to body surf. Shaw's cove has a lifeguard there in the summer months who turned out to be a great resource. When our family was not at the beach, we would hop on the Laguna trolley (note, it stops near the cottage for pick up and drop off). The trolley is free and our kids used it to visit downtown, explore 1000 step beach, and or to find the perfect surfing spot. My wife and I used the trolley to shuttle us and our friends to the various restaurants downtown, its truly nice not having to drive in Laguna as parking can be headache. At Roger and Karen's cottage you have a driveway which can accommodate 2 cars. I highly recommend Roger and Karen's Cottage at Shaw's Cove, its a magical home set in best location along the sunny coast line in Laguna Beach. We do plan on renting the cottage in the future.

The home was absolutely perfect for a multi-generational beach vacation! Karen was a lovely host, and I just can’t say enough good things about the property- even the neighbors were nice! We came with ages ranging from 4 to 80 years old, three vehicles and all of our bikes. We really enjoyed the roomy outdoor dining and sitting areas. One of the things that really struck me was how quiet and safe the neighborhood felt. We hope to come again!

Our stay was wonderful! The house had everything we needed and was a great set up for kids staying there too as we didn’t have to worry about bringing our own pack n play, high chair, or beach toys/equipment. The location was great with an awesome ocean view from the front porch and just steps away from multiple beach access points. Very cleanly as well. One thing to note is there is not air conditioning in the house, but there are several large fans to help keep cool.

Great home less than two blocks to Shaw's Cove stairs to the beach. We have stayed at several VRBO homes over the years and this one is among the best we have experienced. Home is well kept with many nice touches such as high quality cookware, beautiful porch with ocean view, a long driveway that fits two cars so you don't have to compete for street parking. Has everything you need for the beach. Owners are very friendly and helpful. This home is a gem! Coming back next year.

This was our fifth stay at the Laguna cottage near Shaw’s Cove,and it has been an oasis for our family. We especially love the spacious patio that enables us to eat meals outdoors and the indoor dinning table that is perfect for family board games and puzzle building. A well equipped kitchen provides the tools needed for meal prep, and the three bedrooms are comfortable and attractive. Beach access is just a short walk away and the owners are gracious and quick to respond to inquiries. A wonderful space.

A wonderful stay!

We loved the location of this house! Right by Shaw’s Cove and a great view of the ocean from the front porch. The house is well stocked and I was able to easily communicate with the owners. It’s a beautiful property and we’d definitely return!

Weekend at Laguna Beach

The house and property were exactly as described. It was amazing! The owners were very easy to reach and made for the easiest check in and check out we have experienced yet. And we have rented many VRBO’s. The owners left lots of messages for us about the areas around us to explore, which we did. Super clean and well stocked house. Their BBQ made for a great seafood feast (fish we bought at the market that morning) our 3rd night there. We are so glad we found this place!

The Cottage at Shaw's Cove is available to be your home away. We have had many family gatherings here since 1965 when my parents remodeled the home to call our own. Come stay and play at the beach. We will make sure every detail is in place and ready for your arrival. Just say when...and book your vacation with us. We have had many families stay multiple times who have enjoyed the beaches, the art galleries, and just the magical feeling of exploring Laguna.

Why they chose this property

We loved North Laguna from our first family vacation here 1965. Enjoyed spending our time at the beach and snorkeling. discovering its coves and beaches brought us to this special place and to the Cottage. Its charm and comfort along with its great location to the beach was a dream come true. A perfect Beach House to have fun with family and friends! No need to cross busy traffic highways to get to the beach. We are just steps away from the surf and sand to either Shaw's Cove or Crescent Bay. Short walks to all galleries and beaches along with the free trolley that is just steps from our front porch that will take you through Laguna and down as far as Dana Point. Come enjoy the Ride and explore all the Laguna has to offer.

What makes this property unique

Wake up gazing at the ocean with your first cup of coffee on the front porch already makes it a great day. Being relaxed sitting in wicker chairs you talk about the new day. All the while the sun dances on the water. Then stroll over to the park at Seal Rock to visit the local seals up close. By the time you return the beach is warm and ready for your day playing on the sand. Take the beach chairs and umbrellas down to either of two coves for your delightful day. We are only six blocks to the Village walking along the ocean. Or ride the free Trolley at the bottom of our street to all the shopping and delights Laguna Beach has to offer. Excellent choice for couples and families to vacation together. With plenty of room for all to enjoy and still find places of their own on private patios front and back.
