If you're looking for a tranquil OBX vacation home, look no further than Indebted By The Sea. This Kill Devil Hills beach cottage offers peaceful relaxation with contemporary amenities. Just a 3-minute walk to the nearest beach access at E. Arch Street, Indebted By The Sea sits three rows back from the beach and offers amazing ocean views from the back deck.

Pull up to Indebted By The Sea and let your worries blow away in the ocean breeze. The fun amenities begin downstairs in the game room. The competition will heat up as you enjoy a game of billiards or play a couple hands of poker at the card table. A full-sized refrigerator and washing machine/dryer is also located on the bottom-level. Step outside through the sliding-glass door to a large fenced in yard and take a dip in the private pool. You'll also find an enclosed outdoor shower under the house so you can rinse off before you go inside.

The main level is open, spacious and beautifully decorated. You can't help but to feel relaxed thanks to the comfortable seating and delightful décor in the living room. The fully stocked kitchen is open to the rest of the living area so you can still be with your family even when you are cooking! A convenient kitchen island seats three and the nearby dining table seats six people comfortably. Down the hall, you will find 4 cozy bedrooms with the same gorgeous décor. The first three bedrooms have Queen Beds with ceiling fans for comfort and TVs for entertainment. The final Twin Bedroom is the perfect place for your kids to wind down after a long day of fun in the sun with 2 Twin Beds. Two full-bathrooms complete this level. The covered back deck is ideal for sipping your coffee in the morning while watching the sunrise over the ocean or for gazing at the stars in the crystal-clear skies after dark.

The house and amenities were fantastic. We agreed that if we return, we would want to rent the same house.FYI, there were some storms with high winds when we were there. The lid of the exterior light outside the front door was at the bottom of the stairs, broken. I left the pieces on the hose reel by the outdoor shower.

Great trip

The house was in a perfect location for the beach & having the pool in the yard was essential for the afternoons. The beds were comfortable. House was well equipped. We were a little disappointed by the cleanliness of the floor and sinks/tub but was offered to having the cleaner to return if necessary. Very easy to communicate with and accommodating

Rental company ruined the stay

We had multiple issues that we addressed and reached out to rental company about and nothing was done about it until well after we left and still wasn’t really a great resolution. I have pictures of some of the issues including a rusty safety pin in the kids room carpet and pricker bush prickers all over the carpets. There was a water leak that we were told couldn’t be fixed and when the plumber did show up 5 days later he said it would have been an easy fix but we instead had to stop using the kids room and had to have the kids sleep in our rooms. The maintenance department didn’t have keys for the only room we didn’t have a key for and really wasn’t any help with anything and said no way to get any one out there when the plumber said he would have came right out. The house was not terrible and the location is nice but the rental company leaves a lot to be desired. The cleaning also was not very good.
