Unique and relaxing getaway

We were looking to stay close to Assateague and Chincoteague but not camping and somewhere more interesting than a motel - this was just right! The boat is comfortable and quiet. Plan on waking up to the sunrise as the fishing boats head out; it is a beautiful time to drink some coffee and watch the birds while sitting on the deck. The kitchenette was better equipped than I expected with a toaster oven and an air fryer. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Awesome Trip

We stayed on the houseboat for 3 nights and had a fantastic time! We caught a lot of Blue Crabs off the boat and Claire set us up with a steamer pot. Delicious! The fire pit was very nice! Very quite peaceful setting. Will definitely be going back again. You need to have your expectations that you are indeed on a house boat and not in a house. As long as that is what you are looking for, I highly recommend the experience!!!

Great stay!

Cute, vintage houseboat on beautiful canal. Great little beach with fire pit and Adirondack chairs. Would love to go back in the summer to take advantage of the fresh seafood.

Unique experience

Beautiful sunrises, nice firepit area. Boat wasn't the right fit for us. We have never stayed in a houseboat before so would have appreciated a walk through when we first arrived.

Boathouse

We had an awesome relaxing time about this houseboat...think a small camper in the woods but with water all around you!! We walked in to a seafood boil at the marina but went directly to boat for a quiet two nights to recharge. Never left boat as we had brought snacks, drinks and ready to make meal or two. We read, slept and watched the water, birds and occasional fishing boat. Sunrise and sunsets were awesome. Thanks... a definate recharge for us both

Relaxing adventure . . .

Beautiful spot to relax and commune with the natural world while enjoying the unique adventures and challenges of living on a vintage houseboat. We loved every moment. The manager answered our queries promptly and thoroughly. Everyone we encountered wore a friendly smile and had a moment to chat.

Charming Houseboat Getaway

We loved this charming houseboat with its fabulous view of the water and tranquility. The accommodations were quite comfortable. The access to kayaking, biking, and crab feasting added to the experience. What a memorable getaway!

Ultimate Relaxation on the Water

We couldn't be happier with our stay at Baywater Landing. The boat was fun - definitely a boat with that "tiny house" vibe but everything worked well, the location - between Chincoteague and OC MD was perfect and the owners had great suggestions of places to see when we wanted to explore a bit. The facilities were beautifully maintained, and we look forward to seeing their expansion when we go back - which we definitely will!

Really enjoyed staying here

Despite personal problems related to age and impairments, I found this a wonderful place to stay. Remember it is a boat so there will be limited space and it rocks a bit, once you find the grab bars it gets easier (solved most of my problems) . I would have liked a hot plate to cook on rather than the toaster oven. A folding table or drop down would have been nice, but these were minor inconveniences. Bed was comfortable, but the futon/couches needed better padding. When needed help (overloaded circuit by running too many appliances at the same time response was prompt. Everybody there was friendly and helpful. Overall my whole family liked it and I have recommended this to friends. Will certainly consider staying there again.

First Adventure on a houseboat

We had no idea really what to expect, other than the pictures on VRBO. Somethings were a little smaller than anticipated, but that's part of the adventure! It's definitely a camper type bathroom, low ceiling bedroom and a no frills experience. But the views and peace and quiet are worth a million $. The host, Claire and the marina owner, Matt were friendly and helpful. The deck was the perfect place for morning coffee, watching the fishermen go out and waiting for the sun to rise. An easy drive to Chicoteaque, Assateaque, or shopping in the historic city of Berlin. Also a landing a public beach right up the road. I'd go back again in a heartbeat.

More fun than we ever imagined

We didn’t expect much renting this houseboat. It was a means to an end. We had a lot of plans off site. We didn’t expect to have so much fun at the marina. The owners were warm, welcoming and friendly. The people in the neighboring boats were a ton of fun. The owners also have a fresh seafood business. We bought/ate steamed crabs with the whole set-up. We brought our dog who was not only permitted, but welcomed. We will be coming back.

Fantastic, relaxing place to stay

We were a band performing in Ocean City looking to find a place to stay for the weekend that was out of town and quiet. The boat was fantastic and had everything we needed. Everything was clean and comfortable and the marina had a nice little firepit and seating area to hang out at as well. Property owner was great and communicated quickly and efficiently. The marina is outside of town and away from much of the light pollution so when the sky cleared up Saturday night it was dark enough to see the Milky Way pretty clearly which was a nice surprise. If looking for something different in a quite little corner of Maryland, this was perfect!

House Boat Experience

I stayed there with my daughter (23y/o), her fiancee (25) and friend (21). We had the best time. The boat was very clean and the sleeping arrangements were fun and comfortable. There was a slight sway to the boat which made it very relaxing. The bathroom was very small and difficult to shower in, but, it is a boat! There was plenty of room to sit outside and chairs and table were provided. The marina was small, ours was the only house boat, but we had access to a fire pit, gas grill, horseshoes and Tiki torches. The only 'down side' was that it was in the middle of nowhere and not enough 'night life' for my companions. For me, it was perfectly relaxing to sit up top on the boat and sip wine and unwind.

Great time!

We had a great time at Baywater Landing! The host, Lee was very accommodating, and suggested things for us to do. He even told us good places to look for shells and arrowheads. The houseboat was fantastic! It had everything we needed, and had a very cozy atmosphere. We will definitely be booking our vacation there again next year!

Very nice experience in a small town kind of setting :)

This is a nice experience, enjoying boat life in a perfect size boat for a couple, and in a very quiet and clean setting. Everybody was really nice and welcoming, from Lee the owner very responsive, to Matt the co-owner/neighbor that chatted with us, and helped us every time we had a question with the AC or a little problem with the shower head. The neighbors and fishermen were all waving, saying hello, we felt like home... Plus, you can bring your dog so that's really great. The boat is at 15 mins drive of Snow Hill, a very tranquil and cute town, 40 mins from Chincoteague and 1 hour from Bethany Beach, so it's a great location if you want to visit those places, but stay away from the busy and pricey, and stay in a more peaceful setting for a fair price. We recommend the experience and we will be back if we're ever back in town. Lee & Matt: thank you and good luck in your future endeavors!
