We totally enjoyed our stay at the Honua Kai. We had a partial ocean view, and it was nice looking out and seeing the whales. We would definitely go back again.

Clean and convenient

I stayed here with my daughter. We met up with other family at the resort. It’s a great distinction for kids. We were very comfortable in our unit. A highlight was seeing whales swim while sitting on our balcony.

Perfect for a family vacation to Maui

The pictures undersell the property. It's perfect for a family of four, particularly with school aged children. The apartment is well appointed and clean while the location is amazing. The sunset views from the lanai were stunning, though likely only so in late spring through summer due to the path of the sun in the sky at this time of year. Check-in was a breeze and the staff at the resort were all friendly and helpful.

Family Trip to Maui

The property was excellent! It was excellently equipped. The pull out couch was surprisingly comfortable. We made use of the washer and dryer twice and it was nice to clean some of the kids stuff. The condo is in an excellent resort that was very family friendly. The adults and kids enjoyed both the beach that the resort is at and all of the swimming pools. It is on the north side of the west end of Maui, so you have to drive a bit to get there from the airport but it’s so beautiful I didn’t mind at all.

Honua Kai Hokulani 738

Our family enjoyed our stay at Honua Kai. The resort is a good place for families. I wanted an ocean front property that gave us more room than a hotel plus access to pools in case my 7 year old needed a break from the beach. The property is nice and well maintained. There was some construction going on with landscaping and exterior painting but it didn’t bother us. There is only one restaurant on site and you need to make reservations for dinner. There are food trucks that are close by. There is also a grocery store close by. The beach was great. The sand was perfectly soft and fine. We even saw turtles one day. Our room had everything we needed (washer/dryer), cooking utensils/pans, dishes etc…. It was pretty busy when we stayed but not unbearable. Definitely a good place to stay with families.
