We had a wonderful time! We vacation at SML every summer and this has by far been our best experience with a home. The location and amenities were perfect.

Thank you for the great review Caroline. We would love to host you again sometime!
Fabulous weekend getaway with young kids. Very clean property, kitchen included all necessary items, beautiful and peaceful water views from expansive decks. Dock in excellent condition and available kayaks made for a fun adventure across the lake! 15 min to state park for great beach access. Would definitely return to this property. Thanks for a fun, easy weekend!

Thank you, Liz for taking the time to review our property. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Please look us up again for future stays at the lake.
Our first trip to Smith Mountain Lake. The home was beautiful and clean, with plenty of room for everyone and kid friendly. Our only negative was the construction and remodeling of three homes right next to it. 0700 am noise was not a relaxing morning at the lake. I would definitely consider staying there again, after the neighbors are done.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, While we unfortunately do not have control over other peoples construction, we are glad you enjoyed your stay, and we would love to host you again.
This home was the perfect place for a short family trip. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood that was extremely quiet but still close to a marina and restaurant. We were also pleasantly surprised by how well appointed the home was and how spectacular the views were from the porch and the dock. We would definitely stay here again!

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and the views. We would love to host you again soon!
We had kids ages 8 years old and 6 years old and they absolutely loved swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding in the cove! It is so peaceful there. Thanks to the owners for the kayaks and paddle board on the dock. We loved being able to see the water from the fire pit area. The house had all we needed for two families. We had a wonderful time!

Renee,
Thank you so much for the great review. We are so glad you and your guests had a great time at the lake! We would love to host you again next year!
Wonderful getaway over long weekend. Layout of the house smartly set up with gathering area downstairs and quiet rooms upstairs.
5-star rating for most things except for visitors bringing their own boat. Dock access extremely limited, I made it work but it felt like I was intruding.
Mitchell’s Marina has a boat ramp for access ($5 donation) and the crew there were great to interact with, highly recommended but slips are limited hourly.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for your feedback.
It is a beautiful property in an awesome location. The boat dock is beautiful HOWEVER, the docking slip for guests leaves much to be desired. It is treacherous at best to load and unload from the boat- very narrow - no real dock on which to walk - must shimmy around structural support pole to get to actual dock. We were glad to not have small children or older adults on this trip.

Thanks for the feedback. We'd love to host again next season!
House is cute and comfortable, clean and on a great location on the lake. We were 6 couples and rented a pontoon boat from Mitchell's Point Marina right around the corner. The dock has covered seating and lounge chairs, floats, kayaks and a stand up paddle board that we all enjoyed using. We hiked at SML park and saw a bear! Other than the marina/restaurant and one convenience store, everything else is a distance from the house by car - 30-45 minutes to anything. Some waterfront restaurants you can get to by boat but mostly just bar food. VRBO host was very responsive and helpful.

Wow!! Thanks so much Karen. Boat travel is the best part of the experience! You've been great guests and we'd love to have you back next year!
Conveniently located close to Mitchell’s Point where we rented a boat. 2 Kayaks and 1 paddle board are included at property. We have our own tube but one is located in boat house. Hill is steep down to dock. Fire pit was great. Lots of outdoor furniture available at the house on upper and lower decks and at the dock. Everything needed is included, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher soap, dishwashing soap, laundry detergent. Beds are made, towels are provided. Casago was great! TV and wifi were great!

Thanks Yvonne. You've been great and are welcome back any time!
We loved our stay! Be mindful stairs and slopes are numerous! This would not be good for those with mobility issues. Bedrooms are all upstairs and entire shared living space is downstairs, which still requires walking down the sloped gravel drive if you come in the back doors. Appreciated the linens and bath towels were included and the labeled starter packs of products in the kitchen and bathroom but it did give it more of a hotel feel vs the cozy home feel we typically look for in vrbos. Can’t say enough great things about the amount space to entertain/relax. The dining areas inside and out, the covered deck, fire pit, dock, yard etc., loved it all!! The host was communicative and gave great instructions for check in/out/trash pick up but a heads up on the lawn care coming to mow would have been nice. Other reviews mentioned construction on both sides of the property, while both are still underway there was only a couple times they were actively working or making noise during our week 9/6-13. Additionally, there was no vacuum, broom or mop in the house. Fortunately dollar general is only about 10 min away and I got one to use and donated to the property. State park isn’t too far and the Whitehouse Store had most of what we needed, other bigger stores (food lion/kroger/walmart) are further 25 away. The little cove was quiet and so peaceful, would be great for kids to play right at the dock.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We will take your feedback to the appropriate members of our team. We would love the opportunity to host you again in the future.
Stayed for a week in July with the family, & everyone ranging from 7 to 71 had a great time.
Great location on the lake in a little cove that offers a good buffer from the waves & noise of the boats, but isn't so deep that you don't have a good view of the lake.
The big swim dock was great & provided ample room for everyone & all our stuff. There was a rope swing that the kids & smaller adults had a great time on. There is a good sturdy deep ladder on the dock for getting out of the water. The fishing from the dock was excellent, & we caught lots of little fish. There was a paddle board and two kayaks, too.
Our 25' boat fit on the outside of the dock next to the owner's boat. However, that part of the dock is maybe 16" wide, so made it difficult to get to & from the boat. The 3 cleats on the dock were plastic & only held in place with deck screws. One of them had already broken in half before we arrived. Would recommend the host replace these with proper metal cleats that are through-bolted. But otherwise our boat did fine for a whole week docked there, & the approach angle was easy.
The house itself was great. Big dining table, nice couch & chairs. Beds soft and comfortable, but could have used more spare blankets. Upper patio had ceiling fans. Upstairs toilets were round-style & low, but functional. Downstairs toilet was oval and taller. Nice washer & dryer. Kitchen was good, but no garbage disposal. Overall, excellent house! Host was great. Would stay again.

Thanks for the great review Chris! And thank you for letting us know about the cleats. We will have our maintenance team look into replacing them. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to host again!
I'm confident that we were the first guests at this property. There were several small items that had to be addressed during our stay, and the host company mostly responsive by phone but not email. For example, the listing stated that kayaks were provided but none were on the property upon our arrival however after a call inquiry to the host, they were delivered within 24 hours. There were a few other things that were able to be worked out, again by phone.
Our family is familiar with Smith Mt Lake and this location was pretty good. The house is right on a small cove. The area off the dock is deep enough to jump in and swim, but the area by the stairs leading in is covered in rocks, sticks, and anything else brought in by the tide. Not a big deal but noting this particularly for anyone with little kids that it won't be comfortable walking in the water. The state park is the closest public beach.
Overall, the house was good. It was clean and while there were a few areas where bugs came in by the windows or doors, they were all dead. I'm guessing the property is treated and the number of bugs is normal for any property on the lake. The bedrooms are a good size, and our family found the beds comfortable. There were custom branded toiletries and tchotchkes included and while we understood the intent (hotel feel), they were excessive. We would have much preferred the host company being more mindful of household/kitchen items.
As a whole experience, our family felt that the property was nice and will be better after a few guests have stayed so that the hosts have the chance to get everything settled, provided the house is maintained going through regular use.

Hi Sam,
Thank you for the feedback to help make this home the best it can be. We're glad you had a great time and would love to host you and your family again next year.
We stayed in Dec 2022 over Christmas for five nights. We were total four adults and two teens. The home was clean, well furnished with all basic necessities, and plenty of towels and toiletries. There are all the kitchen appliances you may need. The only thing lacking was a supply of traditional wine glasses. There are four bedrooms on the upper floor which is at street level. There is a sloping gravel driveway that someone could walk down easily to reach the lower level, where the LR and Dining are located. There is a nice covered porch for the two main bedrooms and the lower level porch also has a table for outside entertainment and a gas grill and fire pit. It was too cold to do any canoeinng etc, but they have those available. Plenty of games in the LR and also a big TV with Xfinity cable and good number of channels. The wifi was good throughout the house. The beds were comfortable. There are two full baths on the upper level with one bath attached to the main bedroom. The three other rooms share the hall bath, which had some cloggage but was otherwise okay. The bedrooms also have TVs. The closest basic grocery place is called White House (10 minutes) which also offers breakfast and lunch, and a gas station. A full sized Food Lion is 20 minutes away. Definitely bring food and beverages for the first night. Overall a good, clean, comfortable home. The property managers were quick to respond and friendly.
