Peace and Beautiful Hikes

Loved my stay at the Hobbit Hideaway. Jacob was very helpful in answering my questions. The place was so cute and peaceful with a yard to roam in with my dogs and so many terrific hikes less than 30 minutes away. Would highly recommend for a peaceful getaway.

Magical dome

The place was well equipped. The host was responsive easy to get in touch with. We had family matters in Travelers Rest so unable to do any site seeing. We were able to come back every evening and unwind in the peaceful country setting and mystical home.

Cute, cozy, and Comfy!

The Hobbit Hideaway was a wonderful launching pad for our mini-vacay adventures. Everything we needed was there! We had fun playing horseshoes, throwing the hatchets, laying in the hammock, and swinging by the campfire! Plus the internet was great! We went to Caesar’s Head, The Pretty Place, Bridge City Coffee, Chicora’s Alley, Mountain House at Caesar’s Head, Pumpkintown Mountain Opry, the Table Rock Tea Company, Table Rock State Park, and Hagood Historic Mill…to name a few!

Hidden Getaway

This property was a little hidden gem, tucked away from major highways and lots of cars, but it wasn't too far from plenty of things to do in Traveler's Rest and Greenville. The inside of the dome was comfortable and quiet, and the host really thought of everything you could possibly need. The host was very accommodating and prompt when answering questions, and provided very detailed information about the property, so it was super easy to find the property, get inside, log into wifi, turn on lights, etc. Overall, the dome and the property were great! Wish we could've stayed longer, but we will certainly be back!

The property and home were both beautiful and unique. Home is well kept and owner was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint which is of no fault of the property owner, but you have to drive through a rundown trailers neighborhood to get to the home. Was just unexpected. Would stay there again though.

Cute quiet place

The place is quiet and comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen but the bed was comfy and everything was clean. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful. We weren’t there long so we didn’t get down to the creek or enjoy the nice outside setup. The only downside is there are some trailers and homes in the area that have seen better days but we never felt unsafe.

Fantastic getaway!

Although we were only at the hobbit home for less than 24 hours, we made the best of it! We stopped here on our travels back to Michigan, from spring break. It was so clean and well kept. Our teenage boys really enjoyed the outdoor activities, especially the axe throwing and ring toss. We would absolutely stay her again! Thank you!!

About the host

I’m Jacob. A few years ago I converted a van into a camper. It was my daily-driver for a while but eventually decided my Matt Foley days were over and I retired the van in exchange for something more eco-friendly (but much less fun). The van sat around in between weekend camping trips that unfortunately became less and less frequent as time passed.

A year ago I decided that the holy grail of swaggin’ wagons could no longer be kept a secret from humanity. You really think I would hide something as great as this van under a bushel?? The answer is NO!!

Anyway... So then I decided to build a campsite in my backyard so that others could enjoy the van the same way I have.

Well now, I have purchased some land and have begun to draft the dream spots. First, I started with a dome... reminds me of a hobbit home, but cooler! I am now remodeling a bus and hope to have that to you soon!

Thanks for reading.
