About this property
Renovated, Pet-Friendly, with HOT TUB - Highly Walkable Location
Welcome to our saltbox-style cottage in Kill Devil Hills — one of our favorite neighborhoods on the Outer Banks. We've thoughtfully outfitted this home with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The cottage features quality touches throughout, from durable flooring to memory foam mattresses that are cleaned and encased for added peace of mind. Cleanliness is one of our top priorities, and we maintain a high standard we know our guests appreciate.
As experienced local hosts, we’ve managed vacation homes across the Outer Banks since 2014. We take great pride in being responsive, professional, and attentive to every detail of your stay.

Neighborhood Highlights
You’ll love the location. The beach access is just 0.5 miles (about a 10-minute walk) from the house. On your way, you’ll pass Dunkin Donuts, Ashley’s Espresso Parlour (serving coffee, wine, and beer), and Mom’s Sweet Shop, a fun retail boutique and ice cream spot.
Also within walking distance are great local restaurants like Henry’s Restaurant, Two Roads Tavern, and Chili Peppers, along with Seagate North Shopping Center. For family fun, head to Paradise Golf & Arcade nearby, featuring mini golf, bumper cars, go-karts, and games.
To explore the sound side, use the nearby pedestrian crosswalk and enjoy the Bay Drive Multi-Use Path, a scenic 2.5-mile route perfect for biking or walking. Two public sound accesses are nearby:
The access to the right is walkable but has no parking.
The access to the left has a dock, gazebo, swimming area, and limited parking — a perfect sunset spot or kayak launch.
You can also bike to the Wright Brothers National Memorial, accessible via the back entrance off the airfield on W. First Street.
Owner Notes
Yard Notice: The yard is currently in transition after years of overgrowth. We recommend guests use the concrete patio area under the house instead, which includes a picnic table, hot tub, and bar seating.
Parking is limited to three vehicles. Please note: no yard or street parking is available.
House Rules & Community Guidelines
This home is not suitable for parties, events, or illegal activity. Our neighborhood includes year-round residents, second homeowners, and a small number of rentals. We ask all guests to respect the peaceful environment and our town’s quiet hours starting at 10:00 PM.
Pet Policy
We’re dog lovers and welcome well-behaved pets! However, please don’t leave dogs unattended and barking indoors — it can disturb the neighbors. On hot days, plan accordingly to keep your pet safe and comfortable.
All pets must be flea- and tick-free and on preventative treatment. If post-stay pest treatment is required, a fee will apply.

Welcome! We are thrilled that you booked our Outer Banks beach home! We hope that you will take time to disconnect from work and daily life to reconnect with nature and one another! As a seasoned vacation rental owner, I have stocked our cottage with all the essentials you will need for a comfortable stay.
Grant and I live on the Outer Banks full-time with our growing family. I am in real estate sales, while Grant is a general contractor and home builder. We purchased this property in Spring, 2022 and immediately began an extensive renovation! All with you in mind! We are hands-on owners and work closely with the management company to keep our property in pristine condition.
Please take the time to review this Welcome Guide. It is packed with information about our cottage and our area.

Why they chose this property
We purchased this property in May, 2022 and took on an ambitious renovation plan. Wait until you see the BEFORE photos in our Welcome Guide. We purchased this property, just a few properties away from our home here on the Outer Banks, as an extra property for our very large extended family. Grant and I are both 1/5 children in each of our family. We both grew up vacationing here and moved permanently in 2014. We are excited to have the extra accommodating to continue to enjoy the Outer Banks with our friends and family.
What makes this property unique
This LOCATION is our absolute favorite area on the main beach. As a REALTOR, I see many homes across our barrier island. We love having the ability to walk or bike to all of our favorite shops, some listed in the description.
