lovely small casita

my daughter stayed with me for four days and then I was on my own. This was a working trip so we were out and busy every day. This casita is charming and very comfortable. The heated floors were great. Kitchen was well stocked; I loved the French press coffeepot along with the Keurig. Bed very comfortable.

A very comfortable Casita, bathed in light

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our 3-night stay, just a short walk from the top of Canyon Road. Easy walking to galleries, coffee shops and good restaurants. The outdoor patio was especially nice with my morning coffee or evening adult beverage! We will certainly consider staying again on our next visit to the land of enchantment! Thanks Margaret for sharing this special place of yours!

Perfect Casita

Wonderful spacious casita in great neighborhood and close to everything. The casita is charming and well-stocked with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. The heated floors are a real bonus on cold winter days. Walking distance to Canyon Rd and Downtown. Highly recommend.

Sweet spot

My husband and I really enjoyed our four night stay in this cozy casita. We loved the light-filled living area, gas fireplace and the heated floors. The kitchen was well-stocked, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was perfect for us as we wanted to be close to Canyon Road. We would definitely stay here again.

Savoring iconic Santa Fe

Believe all the previous reviews for excellence. We will only add that the location ( a narrow, quiet street running next to one of the original irrigation channels), the classic architectural style of the casita complex, and the regular mornings sitting in our mini patio sipping coffee and watching the hummingbirds made for a relaxing stay.

Perfect location for an art crawl weekend

6 minutes walk to Canyon Rd, 1 mile walk to Railyard & Farmer's Market/Art Market. No need to move the car! Delightful courtyard for morning coffee with hummingbird visitors. Casita design and layout is ideal for one or two people. Check in is simple. Owners are responsive.

Quiet and Lovely

It was so nice to be in this cozy and happy place only short walking distance of Canyon Road. Be sure to go all the way up Canyon Road to the Randall Davey Bird Sanctuary with an early morning brew, then get a memento from the Visitor C enter before you leave and have a scone at the Tea House on your way back down! Hugs to Ken and Peg for their kind hospitality. 💐

Perfect location, lovely stay

This property was truly a ‘hidden gem’ as advertised. It’s nestled in a quiet neighborhood easy walking distance to historic downtown and Canyon Road galleries. It is a 10 minute drive to incredible hiking too. It is small, but homey and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing in the lush garden; the weather was so pleasant! Since the casita is a guest house adjacent to their main house, owners, Ken & Meg, are easily accessible. They provide everything you’d need but are friendly and helpful if something comes up. Thanks for lovely time!

‘We felt free’

This Casita turned out to be better than we thought. Location was a quick walking distance from the Canyon road. Ken was so helpful for the little internet issue we had. Their cat Shrimp was an added bonus for my neice! The fact that they designed it themselves ( being retired architects!) made it more meaningful and personal to us too.

Nice area, horrible bed

It's amazing how much a poor night's sleep can affect your enjoyment of a place. Unfortunately that's just what we experienced in this trip. At first we chalked it up to being stiff from the plane. Asked for extra pillows to try to buffer our joints a bit. Buy day 3 we were both so sore, we stripped the mattress to see what we were sleeping on. Turned out to be 24 year old spring mattress dated June 19, 2000 - took pictures as we couldn't believe it ourselves. We used the extra blankets as a pad and each took turns on the sofa for the rest of the week because it was in better than the bed. At this price you'd expect premium bedding, but at the very least a decent surface to sleep on. The owner did refund about the price of one night, but can't believe they were unaware of how old it is. Do yourself a favor and verify that they've installed a new one before you book this place. I've slept better camping. Such a shame because otherwise it's a nice place.

About the host

We have lived in Santa Fe since 1993. As architects and artists, we love the aesthetic appeal of Santa Fe's unique historic district and chose to live in this neighborhood because of that. Santa Fe's small town atmosphere combined with its wide range of cultural opportunities fits our lifestyle. We also appreciate the natural beauty of the area and the easy access to hiking, cycling, and winter sport opportunities.

Why they chose this property

We think this location is simply the best in Santa Fe. Our guesthouse is tucked away in a lovely private compound in a beautiful, unique neighborhood, and provides easy access to all that Santa Fe has to offer.

What makes this property unique

One reason we chose to live in this spot is because we love to walk around Santa Fe. From our home we are minutes (on foot) from Canyon Road, the Downtown Subscription, the Plaza, museums and all of the shops, galleries, restaurants, and homes along the way.
