Brand New Renovated Modern Ditch Plains Oasis- One Block Walk to Beach

This is the perfect beach vacation rental. The house was gut renovated in 2023 and is located one block easy walk to Ditch Plains Beach with all the modern amenities and design you will fall in love with. This may be the most beautiful stretch of coastline in all of Long Island. There is great swimming, surfing, body surfing, and hiking on the bluffs located just a short stroll from your front door. The house has all the amenities to make your vacation relaxing and comfortable. There is a great private backyard bluestone patio with teak outdoor furniture, and enough room to play wiffle ball, soccer, or have a football catch. We have a teak table and chairs and plenty of outdoor furniture for lounging outside. The outdoor shower is spacious and private. We have both charcoal and gas grills to satisfy everyone.

It is important to note that we use the house personally, so it is kept extremely clean and has a very warm feeling. If you get a cool Montauk evening, you can even get the wood fireplace going or take some of our firewood to the beach for a bonfire.

The driveway has ample space for 3 cars. House has a 65” Smart flat screen with all premium cable channels, as Apple TV for all your sports and movie entertainment. House has Sonos for your to wirelessly stream your music.

Downstairs in the fireplace, kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms and one and 1/2 baths, and upstairs is 3 bedrooms, a second den area with a computer, and one bathroom. There is also a peek at the ocean from the upstairs room and living area.

Great home in Ditch Plains, Montauk

A very short walk to the beach in Ditch Plains, what a special location. This is a great family friendly home. The house has been updated to perfection. You can see and feel all the details that the host family has put into making this house so easy and enjoyable. We spent early mornings and late afternoons enjoying the amazing backyard for games, meals, and fun conversations. Rick was the perfect host! He communicated very well before, during, and after our stay. He was always available and helpful. You can tell he really wanted us to enjoy our time.

Everything went smoothly. Short walk to Ditch Plains beach, so nice location. Lawn is good size and nice landscaping that makes it feel private, even though you're on the street corner. Everything was good and Rick was a pleasure to deal with. Note that there is no A/C, but the in-window fans were reasonably effective (that said, it was 80s while we were there... might be pretty toasty if there was a heat wave).

Perfect beach house

The Ditch Plains beach house is an incredible location, one block from the beach. The house is quaint and stylish with plenty of room for numerous guests. We had ten adults spend the weekend comfortably. The outdoor space is perfect for outdoor dinners and fires and there is plenty of beach equipment to cover all the guests. Rick was extremely responsive and helpful. He offered many recommendations for food and activity which was helpful for the out of towners. Montauk is absolutely beautiful and we look forward to coming back in the future.

Outstanding Home and even better location!

We rented this home with 4 adults and 4 children. You will not find a better location. We were all blown away when we arrived to see such a great home so close to the beach. Rick was beyond helpful (we had a home we rented on VRBO for years and realize how important our role was to our guests). Rick was great from us getting in to the home to giving us great spots to eat. We will be back again soon!

Rick made this all very easy and shared points of interest in the area to visit and eat at. The house is great to relax in after a day at the beautiful beach (just 5 minute walk) and the town area was a short drive away for some shopping or food. The house even had some old toys that toddlers enjoyed playing with. We loved our stay and appreciated Rick’s openness and the ease of transacting with him. We would love to come back. Wonderful stay over New Years Eve

We stayed at the Ditch Plains home over New Years Eve with a group of friends and had an AMAZING time! It was conveniently located by the beach, the house was clean and spacious and was only a short drive to downtown. We will absolutely be staying here again in the summer to enjoy the beach and are excited already. Thank you again for the wonderful accommodations!!

Perfect House, Location, and Owner

Can't ask for much more, here are some thoughts.... House: Great condition as advertised, plenty of space. The backyard is huge and perfect for yard games, sun bathing, and just hanging out. It has tall trees and is a corner lot so it's very quiet and secluded. Location: Forget your sunglasses or cold beverage at home? No problem, the beach is so close you pop back and forth very easily. The part of the beach that is closest to the house is also known for the best waves. it was fun to watch the dozens and dozens of surfers all day. The beach is huge with great views of the cliffs/bluffs. There is even a food truck at the entrance to the beach if you need something to eat or drink. Downtown is doable on bikes, but cabs usually show up within 5-10 minutes of being called and the ride is ~3minutes to downtown so we just did that. Owner: Rick was the most responsive owner I've ever rented from. Emails, calls, and texts were answered or replied to within hours.

Awesome House, Great Location

We spent a weekend in Ditch Plains at Rick's home in mid April and had a great time. The house is exactly as described and the location is perfect, just a 2 min walk to the beach! When we arrived the house was very clean and had everything we needed. We made a big dinner and had plenty of dishes and silverware. There was also 2 BBQs (Gas & Charcoal) to used as well. He has a great backyard, plenty of space with lots of sun! The beds are very clean and even more comfortable. Rick provided excellent customer service and had great communication the entire time. He was able to answer all of my questions prior to renting and continued to communicate throughout the process. He give us great recommendations and a detailed map of where to go and what to do. I would definitely recommend this home to my friends and family for a relaxing stay in Montauk in an awesome location. Rick has a wonderful home and was a pleasure to rent from. Can't-miss location, cozy and charming!

The house was exactly as described with ample room for 10 people and plenty of firewood to burn over 3 days, which was very much appreciated. We came over New Years and it was absolutely perfect: clean, with all the needed cooking equipment and a great grill. You are literally 1 block from the beach and awesome hiking in Shadmoor Park. Dealing with Rick the owner was also a pleasure as he was very accessible (even while traveling in South America) and helped us with connecting to Wifi and turning the outdoor shower on immediately when we called. Would absolutely rent this place again and hope to next year! -John

Perfect Spot for the 4th of July!

This was the perfect house for a group of working professionals married/single/ and couples. The rooms were a good size and private and there are 3 showers to accommodate everyone. The living area and kitchen are open so that conversation can continually flow and the fun can continue without isolating those that are cooking. Not to mention there are enough beach towels to last EVERYONE a whole week! Although a washer and dryer is included as well in case you need it for other things :) Beach access was the best part - only a short walk away we had the pleasure of enjoying days at the beach and bonfires at night. Everything you need is there - beach supplies for the nice days and games and cable for the rainy days. This was really perfect for a group of laid back people wanting to spend time together by the beach. The landlord was extremely accommodating accessible and responsive which was one of the most important things to our group, living in New York City you can imagine how many of us were refreshed by this. Horseback riding is up the street, surfing around the corner, and town is less than a 3 minute drive away. What more could you ask for?

Great house, great location, great owner!

We had such an amazing time and experience at this house! Six of us, 3 couples stayed and it was our favorite place we've stayed in Montauk thus far - been coming for the last couple years. We had plenty if space, great living area and back yard, and we really appreciated the fact that all the bedrooms were the same / equal in terms of size and beds... makes it easy to share with friends. It was fun being right by ditch plains as well - it's literally just across the street. The best part is the owner is great to work with - very responsive friendly and helpful. It was just a great experience all around. We'll be back!

Great Spot

Rented out the house for 4 nights last week. Rick was a pleasure to work with and provided us with everything we needed to know before arriving as well as local recommendations. House is much larger than it looks from the outside and fits 10 easily. House is well kept with a nice back yard area and a block from the beach! Very reasonable price and highly recommend for a long weekend away!

Great House for 5 Couples

My friends and I normally rent houses on Fire Island, but decided to try Montauk this year. Rick's house was one of the few that could actually accomodate 10 adults comfortably for the dates that we chose, so it was a fairly straight forward decision. We are so glad that we stayed at this house! The house is spacious, with clean, comfortable bedrooms for everyone. Bathrooms were impeccable. The house has a great living area, with a working fireplace (which we used since it was pouring rain and freezing the first day we were there), and a sitting hammock right in the living room! The TV has cable, which was awesome, since we were housebound for the first day. The house is a 5 min walk to the beach, which was absolutely beautiful. The shed out back has all the chairs and umbrellas that we needed, and there were plenty of beach towels in the house. There are even a couple of bikes, which some of us used to take a nice leisurely ride around Ditch Plains. Rick and his housekeeper were responsive, and extremely helpful. Rick provided us with a map of his recommended places, and every place we tried was great. My one critique was that having never used vrbo before, I was nervous paying the full fee and not hearing anything for weeks. Once we were a week away from our check-in date though, Rick and his housekeeper became very communicative. I guess that is the usual process with online rentals, but I would have felt a lot more at ease if someone had mentioned that to me at the time of booking. I just took heart in all the positive reviews, and it worked out perfectly. I would highly recommend this house, and hopefully will be coming back again next year. Thanks Rick!

Great rental-close to beach, perfect for a large family

We rented this property for 3 night for a family wedding in September and it was perfect. The location is top notch, just a 2 minute walk to the beach and they have a shed with a wagon, umbrella and beach chairs which was nice. The house also has all the towels and linens you need and the beds were very comfortable. We used the yard a lot as well to hang out. This is definitely not the fanciest house you will ever be in, it is well loved, but for our family it was perfect. We never did find a microwave anywhere, and the listing mentions a king bed, and there was no king. We would rent here again, as it was easy to work with Rick and the property was perfect for our needs.

Amazing Time

We spent a week in this cozy home in Ditch Plains. We were 4 adults and 5 kids and their was plenty of room. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had plenty of room to accommodate our family. The kids loved playing on the hammocks in the backyard. We could walk to the beach which was a plus. The house was very clean when we arrived and having a washer/dryer was a plus. The first night was a little rough with the humidity but the rest of the week was very comfortable the window fans were just the right touch to keep the cool air circulating in the house. Great house, friendly owner, I would absolutely recommend renting.
