Quiet non-smoking clean one bedroom apartment on Hillary Ave in Fairbanks, AK

Very nice clean place.
About 15 min from downtown. You’ll like the place because of the view and the quiet neighborhood. My place is good for solo adventurers but can accommodate a couple. The one-bedroom apartment is in a building next to our house. No smoking, drugs or alcohol allowed in the premises.

Such a cute, cozy place to stay-perfect for our visit. Everything was clean, and there is more than is in the listing! The second bedroom and bathroom weren’t pictured but both very nice.

This property is not as listed. Apartment smells like car garage cleaning solvents, electrical covers missing on switches and outlets, and exposed electrical wires. There was one smell wet towel hanging on shower rod for the two of us. Hand towel was obviously used. Personal hygiene products left on sink. Sheets are bed are dirty and possibly stained. Multiple vehicles in repair in driveway. No one at the residence at check in to resolve issues. Owner was responsive up until I started asking for clean towels and sheets. Sent messsge and no response until the next day. We stayed at hotel due the lack of cleanliness and safety issues. When I returned almost three hours later, I gathered our belongs since the owner never responded. I spoke with the son, Johnny. He acknowledged that he tried to clean the place on his lunch break. He acknowledged that he did not have a lot of time and did the best he could. Owner responded the next day, with sheets are stained but clean, the towel was washed and hung out to dry and they leave other prior guests hygiene products for the next guest to use. I called VRBO Care. I just had a simple ask, refund my funds. We spoke for 57 minutes to any employee and the supervisor. I sent the video and pictures. I was told that they reached out to the owner multiple times but no answer. I paid VRBO but the owner has to approve the refund. VRBO kept saying, we need to place you on hold to investigate. I was offered 50 in VRBO credit

I'm sorry you didn't like our Airbnb Andrew. I was out of town when you arrived and my son tried to offer you different towels and sheets but you just left. I apologize that due travel, it took me a few hours to respond to you on the day you arrived but I did respond. I did reach out to you as soon as I arrived, but you had decided to leave. Yes, some our sheets do have small permanent stains but they are clean and suitable for use, same as our towels. My son did not leave folded towels at the base of the bed like we normally do, but just hanged them on the shower rod, but that doesn't make them dirty or used. There's an electrical socket that is missing a light but the breaker to that light is off. There were 0 cars under repair on the property. There is one car inside the garage that I forgot to closed after charging the battery. There were no solvents, chemicals or any hazardous substance inside or around the building. There were and are some half used shampoo containers in the bathroom from previous guests because I don't believe in wasting items like that. Guests are welcome to bring their own or use what is there. Many guests appreciate it. I responded VRBO on the same day. I did not feel a refund was warranted because my son offered to give you new towels even though the one hanging was clean. I didn't think a refund was warranted because we tried to please you, but it seems that you made up your mind that you didn't want to stay and were just entitled for a refund.
