Our home is, in my opinion, located in the best location in downtown Madison. You can walk out the door to - the river, festivals, bars, restaurants, the Heritage Trail, and more.
You will need your car to get groceries up on the hill (8 min drive) - Kroger and Wal-Mart or to get to Clifty State Park.
Downtown Madison is a great walking town or if you prefer you can rent a golf cart. Getting around is easy. There is also plenty of parking at General's Quarters - street and in the back (2 reserved spots).
This multi-level home features three floors and two sets of stairs. The main level, located a few steps up outside, is on the street level. If any member of your party has difficulty with stairs, we recommend staying in the queen bedrooms downstairs, which offer walkout access to the back.

About the host
Hosted by Kelly Rodgers

My husband and I fell in love with Madison after a quick trip back in 2010. It took us another 7 years before we bought and gutted General's Quarters. We are thrilled that we get to share our properties with visitors to experience the magical charm of Madison. Reach out with any questions. We hope you visit soon.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property because of its location - a block from the river, centrally located, and in the heart of the festival action.
What makes this property unique
This building was built in 1830. General Thomas Crittenden lived here with his family before the Civil War. He married a local girl. After the war, he moved to DC and is buried with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law at Arlington Cemetery.
