Come have fun in the sun or under the stars! “The Sandcastle ” at “The 4th Street Beach House” apartments is a newly remodeled one bedroom apartment. The Sandcastle is 4 blocks from the beach and boardwalk! Leave your car at the Sandcastle and walk everywhere. There is a queen bed in the bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped including a microwave, coffee maker and toaster. In the living room there is a smart TV along with wireless internet. The Sandcastle loves pets so bring them along! The Sandcastle has a large yard with plenty of parking. There is a shared fenced court yard with the upstairs apartment. Come fish and bring your boat boat! Carolina Beach has two boat ramps. If we do not have your dates available try our upper apartment listing the “Sand Bucket”!

We had such a great stay when we were at this beach house last year that we came back for a second time! The host was incredibly welcoming and always quick to respond whenever we had a question. The property was well taken care of and it was especially nice having a private fenced in yard for our dog.

Great place for a couple whether you have a dog or not! Located in a nice quiet residential area but still within a 10-minute walk of several restaurants, coffee shops, and the beach. We enjoyed being a bit further away from the noise and having the outdoor space. Very easy check in process.

A Wonderful Vacation!!!

This is the PERFECT spot for a getaway in Carolina Beach. Suzanne is a wonderful host. The apartment was very very clean, had great amenities and was quiet. Would 100% stay again!

Great Weekend Getaway

I stayed on the second floor of this property last year so I was already familiar with the area. Place is perfect for someone or a couple looking to go to Carolina Beach for a long weekend. Place is located in a safe neighborhood and is only about a ten minute walk from the beach. I will definitely stay here again!

Long weekend trip

We stayed just for long weekend, pictures representing exactly what we encountered. Had just what we needed, location to the beach was walkable, we recommend you bring a wagon to carry your gear. Would definitely rent here again.

Exactly what we were looking for!

We had a very nice stay at The Sandcastle. It was very clean, check-in process was seamless. Our pup loved the fenced in yard. It is not the biggest, but it was exactly what we needed. Would recommend and would definitely stay again. Thank you!

The location was perfect for us because we like to walk as much as possible. We walked everywhere and got our steps in, our dog enjoyed the area outside and would lay on the small deck. The apartment was stocked with everything we needed; the TV was great, and the wifi was fast. The mosquitoes were active in the evening, so use a repellant. We will definitely be coming back to the Sand Castle!

Beach weekend

We enjoyed our stay. The place is pretty small but efficiency of the small space is very well done with nice decor and appliances. The only issue is that we stayed downstairs and could hear the people upstairs walking around (it sounded like they were marching) and could hear their conversations. Our dog enjoyed the fenced in area and we made use of the outdoor furniture. Thank you.

You can't fight Mother Nature

My husband and I booked this property for a week in September. It was a bit small, but clean and comfortable with everything we might need. Unfortunately, a major tropical storm hit the day after we arrived, and our rental was flooded. Property manager and owner were very responsive. Our money was refunded within two days.

Perfect Beach Getaway

The house was exactly as advertised and perfect for my dog and I to spend a couple days at the beach. 4 blocks down from all the action (bars, restaurants, shopping), and 1 more block to the beach. Literally 7 or 8 minute walk to the ocean! The neighborhood was quiet and nice. Fenced in yard for dog with a grill, patio area. The house had fridge, stove, microwave, cups, plate, utensils, and a coffee machine with coffee. You could stay comfortably for a week or two. There was also a curated brochure about local things to do which was the absoutely nicest touch! Thank you so much for the stay!

We were very disappointed with our stay and ended up checking out early, staying less than 24 hours of our scheduled 2 night reservationThe listing was advertised as pet-friendly, which is why we chose it. However, at the time of booking, the listing did not clearly explain that there were two separate units on the property, or that the host would be staying in the upstairs unit during our stay. Had we known this, we likely would have booked elsewhereWe left our two dogs in the unit while we went to dinner, expecting that a pet-friendly property would accommodate normal pet behavior. About two hours later, the host messaged us asking to return because the dogs were barking. When we returned, we found an unknown individual walking around INSIDE the fenced in property. Naturally, we approached him, assuming he was the host, but he said he was not and walked away. That experience made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafeWe shared our concerns with both the host and Vrbo support. Rather than offering a reasonable solution, we were told we could take the dogs to a pet-friendly beach, in nearly 100-degree weather, which we did not find practical or responsibleIf you are traveling with pets, be aware that "pet-friendly" may not mean your dogs can be left alone for even a short period, and the shared-property setup is NOW made clear in the listing. You can hear movement upstairs. Was looking forward to a great 4th at the beach but ultimately, our expectations were not met

She mentions in her review, leaving two pets with normal pet behavior. The pets barked for two hours nonstop from the time they left to go to dinner till they returned. 2 hrs later. I did text her and request she do something with their dogs. She did not respond. The next morning, I saw him putting a cooler in car. Suggested a beach where you could take your dogs with free parking. They did not tell me they were checking out. Why she wants to hurt me because she made a bad decision. I'll never understand. My reviews speak for themselves. This is the only bad one in five years.

Mixed feelings

The house that we rented out was cute and very welcoming! We went on very hot days of the summer and the AC was great and hit the spot. The bed was uncomfortable. When facing the bed, the left side feels decent but the right side kind of dips to the middle. When we took the sheets off the bed (liked asked) we were shocked at the spots/stains on the mattress. The bathroom also had a spot of red of the wall, hoping it wasn’t blood. My boyfriend is a repair/handyman and there were violations within the stay but nothing to concerning. We only were at the place to have somewhere to sleep and keep our items. Overall it was an okay and a place to put our heads down for a night.

great location for a quick get away

First of all I loved the location. The property managers probably need to walk through with the cleaners to understand what they pay for when passing on to future tenants. Things I would recommend to the property managers is to put blackout shades in the bedroom and dining room since the sun is very bright early in the morning. They need to leave instructions on how to work the air conditioner since ours was froze up and I had to fix it the first night. There is a 1 inch blue light in the middle of the air conditioner panel that is very bright and I would have loved to known how to turn it off. Lastly, we were in the bottom unit and it picked up every noise the second floor tenants made. Since we were there only 2 nights, then we were able to deal with it, but if I was staying a week, the second floor noise from people walking, talking and going to the bathroom would drive me crazy.

Great Dog-Friendly Spot at a Convenient Location

My fiancé and I recently came to town for a doctors appointment and were searching for a dog-friendly spot to crash with our two pups. The Sandcastle did not disappoint. Located in walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, and the beach, we really enjoyed our two night stay here. The outdoor patio area is really nice for sitting out in the sun for both humans and canine visitors. Our pups loved it. We stayed in the downstairs unit which is small but quaint and cozy with just enough room for our little family. Condo was clean and well furnished. Check-in was easy and convenient. Two things to mention: as some other reviews have indicated, there is a bit of upstairs noise from the condo upstairs. It was NOT enough to bother us or or dogs for the most part. Typical walking around noise but if you are one to have an issue with this be aware. Additionally, we only had one bag which was in the trash can and one roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. We made it work for the two nights but for longer stays you may need to check with the host about that or bring your own. Overall, 5/5 and we will definitely be back again!

This was the perfect place to stay with a dog. The host was very friendly and living in the upper unit. We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach and area of action. We went to the 4by4 beaches so we could bring the dog on the beach. Sea Witch tiki bar was great. Really fun live music and dog friendly. We would definitely come back!
