About this property

Near DT Madison - One Block from Lake Monona & Lake Loop Bike Path

Experience the best of Wisconsin’s Capital City in this newly remodeled 1930's bungalow in one of Madison’s most desirable neighborhoods.

Take the provided bikes for a spin on the famous 13-mile Lake Loop, just steps from our front door. Grab fun pool floaties and relax on Lake Monona at nearby Schluter Beach. Treat yourself to an ice cream cone at the retro ice cream parlor. When you're ready to shop or hit the farmer's market, downtown Madison is an easy 15-minute drive.

The Pink Acorn is a cozy, 850 square-foot bungalow in a quiet and eclectic, family-friendly neighborhood. Well appointed, with colorful vintage touches throughout. Located one block from Lake Monona and the Lake Loop bike path, which offers unbeatable views of the Madison skyline. We currently have three (used) bikes available for your leisure and are working to get a fourth. You may also rent BCycle electric bikes at Schluter Beach, a short 2-minute walk away. A perfect stay for couples, friends, and business travelers. Our house is not child-proofed and may not be safe for small children.

Conveniently located:
~5 miles to downtown Madison/Capitol Square (Farmers Market, Madison Marathon, Ironman)
~5 miles to Alliant Energy Center & Coliseum (CrossFit Games, World Dairy Expo)
~2 miles to Olbrich Botanical Gardens
~6 miles to airport
~4 miles to Beltline Hwy
~19 miles to Epic
~7 miles to Kohl Center
~8 miles to Camp Randall Stadium

Our fully stocked kitchen features stainless steel, Energy Star appliances: refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, microwave and dishwasher. There is a Keurig coffee maker with complementary San Francisco Bay Dark Roast compostable coffee pods, along with packets of powdered Coffee-mate non-dairy creamer, sugar and stevia. A French press is available if you prefer to bring your own coffee ground. We also provide an assortment of flavored teas and Swiss Miss hot chocolate.

The bedrooms have comfortable memory foam hybrid mattresses, with high thread-count microfiber sheets and luxurious Beckham Hotel Collection pillows. USB chargers are located at each bedside.

For business travelers and those working from home, the twin bedroom offers a stylish retro school desk and chair. There is also a tulip table in the dining room where you can conveniently set up your workspace.

We use eco-friendly Seventh Generation cleaning products, Dropps laundry and dishwashing detergent, and bamboo toilet paper and paper towels. Our bath towels are 100% Turkish cotton, and we also provide beach towels.

Our 50” smart TV has Netflix, Hulu, and Discovery+. Feel free to sign in on any other apps with your own account. We DO NOT have cable, but we do have an antenna that picks up basic stations like ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX.

Free parking in our newly paved driveway.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay better, and alert us immediately if you have any problems.

*Other things to note:

-There are six steps leading up to the front door, and a steep and narrow staircase that leads to the basement where laundry is located. Other than that, the living space is one level.

-Please be mindful to turn off lights and lock doors and windows when leaving.

-Please reuse bath towels more than once when possible. Towel hooks are located in the bathroom for your convenience.

-Please clear out the refrigerator of your food items upon checkout. Checkout is at 11am and no later, as we need ample time to thoroughly clean before our next guests arrive.

-While The Pink Acorn has been newly remodeled, it is nearly 100 years old, so please keep in mind that it is not new construction.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE AND STAY
Our stay at the Pink Acorn was amazing! Kelly truly makes her guests feel welcome. She left a sweet note and lovely treats. The house is stocked with everything you need and was exceptionally clean. The beds are super comfortable and have nice cozy blankets. Am added bonus was seeing rabbits and chipmunks in the backyard. Kelly leaves directions to walk to the beach around the corner and it’s a must do…and make sure to grab some ice cream at the shop across from the park.

Cozy home with vintage touches
Very cute small house. Great character with all the vintage 50s & 60s design. 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds. Updated bathroom & kitchen. Great location in Monona. Kelly was very helpful & nice to talk to when I had trouble with getting info from the app. If you love historic houses you’ll get a kick out of this one!

Perfect Little Gem
Great little find in a quiet neighborhood near the lake. Fun theme inside, clean, and all the basic kitchen and bath goodies to help make the weekend easy and relaxing. Such a different feel than our traditional hotel room when visiting. Will definitely look to see if available when we come back to visit. Great host communication!
