We had a wonderful stay at this property which was large enough to accommodate our family plus our dogs. We were grateful to find it clean and well equipped for cooking in. The snack tray provided on arrival was a welcome treat. Communication with the host was exceptional - timely and helpful! The area is family friendly, walkable with restaurants and terrific pizza nearby. Thanks for a great visit.

Lovely home in a quiet area within walking distance to Forest Hill park and some restaurants. The house was very clean and well equipped. We appreciated the clear instructions and recommendations on nearby attractions and restaurants.

Short trip

We love the place, location was perfect for us visiting Richmond and VCU for the first time. Clean, well stocked, friendly mananger and check in was very easy. A place we will for sure stay at in the future!

Just an ideal spot. A great park and restaurants within walking distance

We'll be back to visit the children and grandchildren who live in Richmond. Our Richmond family live on the north side and they really enjoyed coming to the south side to enjoy a slightly different vibe.

Exactly What We Needed

Grand Prix Volleyball Tournament

We stayed here as a family while attending our granddaughters volleyball tournament. Go JoCo!We felt it was better than a cramped and noisy hotel. We were right! The apartment was spotless, very well appointed and extremely comfortable. We will stay there again when in town for another tournament!Thank you!

Visit with Family

My husband has three sisters and one nephew who live in the Richmond area. The property was very convenient and comfortable and extremely clean. It had interesting architecture and made our visits with relatives so much more enjoyable than descending upon relatives to stay with them. Richmond was beautiful this time of year.

Great second floor duplex near Richmond

Well equipped rooms with numerous amenities. Spacious upstairs bedroom, 2 nicely spaced bedrooms on main floor. Well equipped kitchen, great art and photography on the walls. Communication with our host, James was excellent and timely. Near VA hospital and Forest Hills park.

Race weekend

This apartment is great. So very big and clean. The road is very narrow in front of the apartment but easy to find a spot. Lots of steps so be aware if there are any mobility restrictions in your group. Close (walking distance )to a great bakery and park for a quick walk around the lake.

Clean Spacious house close to downtown

My business partner and I had a convention in Richmond downtown area. I brought my wife and 1 year old daughter with us. The house was clean and had everything we needed to cook meals. Large rooms, quiet bedrooms for my daughter to nap and a nice updated modern interior. There are two sets of stairs so I was glad we brought baby gates with us.

Well appointed property with an exceptional manager

We found that everything we needed was there and if not the property owner made sure to provide it quickly. While the property might not have been in the most desirable area for some folks we felt absolutely secure with cameras, and other security features at the property. Lots of space and amenities, with quick access to great areas of Richmond for activities. My only recommendation would be the addition of some darkening shades in the bedrooms.

Really nice property in a more rundown part of town. Very well decorated and very clean, which is an huge plus, and it’s spacious. The upstairs master has a lot of space and a drying rack in the wall, which is nice. We did have a couple of little issues, which may only impact some. First, the upstairs is closed off with a door at the bottom of the stairs, but it’s a sliding door that isn’t sealed and sound carries loudly. Secondly, the queen room on the main level doesn’t have a closet. It’s locked for the owner. I suggested making a change about this to James, so perhaps that has been corrected. Also, the bed in that room leaves much to be desired. It looks new and clean, but the sheets feel like a polyester and the mattress is pretty rickety. My teenager wouldn’t have cared, but I wasn’t a huge fan. That said, I’d stay there again in a pinch. The owner is very responsive and it is in close proximity to where we needed to be.

The listing does include a "Potential for Noise" notice to help set expectations, as guests may occasionally hear activity from neighboring units or within the home’s layout. We do regret if this was missed prior to your stay. Regarding the main‑level queen bedroom, the closet you referenced is an owner’s closet. This is clearly noted on the booking platform and also included in the house information sent to every guest prior to arrival, which remains accessible throughout the stay. That said, your suggestion about adding additional storage is a thoughtful one, and we will absolutely consider how to incorporate more guest‑friendly storage solutions moving forward. We also wanted to clarify that the listing does not advertise 100% cotton sheets. We aim to provide comfortable, hotel‑quality bedding, but we understand preferences vary and appreciate you sharing yours. We’ll take another look at the mattress in that room as well to ensure it meets our standards. We hope to welcome you back and make your next stay with us a 5-star experience! Excellent! Highly Recommend!

James’s place was perfect for my husband and I as a base for visiting our daughter and exploring Richmond. It had everything we needed, tons of space for a larger group or family and very tastefully decorated. Extremely clean and well-maintained! The location is very quiet and convenient and felt safe. We loved being able to walk to neighborhood coffee shops/restaurants, Forest Hills Park and an antique store. Very easy access to other areas of the city. James is a very courteous host and all communication was straightforward and thorough, with lots of helpful information about the area and making sure we were happy with everything. We would definitely recommend this place especially if you want to explore beyond Carytown and The Fan/VCU.
