About this property

Front Porch Therapy| Dogs Welcome!

Escape to this secluded retreat just 2.5 miles from ASU. Experience the serene wooded ambiance, cozy fireplace and the fire pit for marshmallow fun. Enjoy stunning views year-round. Perfect for football weekends with spacious living; 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths and a fully equipped kitchen. Lower level offers entertainment space, bunk beds, and laundry. Easy access to Boone's amenities. Embark on outdoor adventures like hiking, skiing, rafting, and zip-lining. Exciting experiences await you!
Stay 3 nights, get $10 gift card towards a flight at the local Booneshine Brewing Company.

Because this property is located at an elevation of 4200 feet, it is usually significantly cooler here than in Boone. We will have air conditioning through the entire house after June 19, 2023.

If you have 6 or fewer guests, message us about renting one level of the property at a reduced rate. You still have exclusive use of the property.

If you need any children's accommodations such as: cribs/pack n plays, bouncers, rockers, strollers etc., we have them available to rent. W e can connect you after booking with our third party concierge to have these items delivered to the property upon your arrival.

A note about pets: We allow up to two dogs, but no cats or other animals. The yard is NOT fenced so we recommend that you keep your dogs on a leash while in the yard. There are chipmunks, squirrels, deer, and other wildlife that dogs love to chase and we would hate for your dog to get lost! Both decks have gates so that you can enjoy the deck without worrying about dogs running off. We provide bowls for food and water, poop bags, and older towels for cleanup. You will need to bring your dog's favorite bed and toys. Unfortunately, our insurance forbids renting to certain breeds. If you have a dog often deemed by insurance as a "dangerous breed" please inquire to see if our insurance forbids that particular breed.

The home is on a gravel road. It's a short distance off the pavement and straight, but cars with a very low clearance may have a harder time with it. The home is on the top of a mountain, so if you travel in winter, we recommend vehicles with all wheel drive and/or chains. Roads are plowed all the way to the gravel road, and we will have this privately plowed as well, but there is no guarantee when roads will be cleared. Please plan accordingly. There are no refunds given for weather-related travel difficulties.

Rental agreement must be signed prior to check in by electronic signature.

There are a few security cameras outdoors so we can monitor the exterior of the home for maintenance reasons. There is a camera on the corner of the house monitoring the driveway, a doorbell camera on the basement door, and a camera monitoring the gravel road.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions before you arrive or if you need anything during your stay. We want to make sure you are prepared for your visit and have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
We are in the woods but only 6 minutes from King Street and 9 minutes from Kidd Brewer Stadium. You can see two homes through the trees next door and behind us, but the yard is still private. There are 80 acres of woods beside the house on the other side and no one directly across the road.
Simple contactless check in available. Just before check in we will email you an access code for the door and you can let yourself in at your convenience.
On the main level there is a kitchen, dining area, family room with a stone fireplace, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. You will also access both decks from this level. The basement has a large space that contains a gathering and activity space, two sets of bunk beds, and a full bath. This room has windows on one wall. This area can be shut off with doors in addition to the stairs. There is also a laundry room downstairs with a full size washer and dryer, an additional side by side refrigerator, and a door to the exterior. You'll find a well stocked kitchen with a drip coffee maker, blender, toaster, electric hand mixer, electric water kettle, pots, pans, casserole dishes, and baking sheets.

Colorful weekend in Boone
What a place! This home has everything a family could ask for to make their stay memorable. Kitchen was well equipped. House was very clean and inviting. We had a great time with the peak fall colors and great weather. The home is just in the right spot to be anywhere in the high country in a short amount of time.

About the host

We live in Charlotte, but have long enjoyed the high country. There is nowhere we find more nourishing for the soul!

Why they chose this property

We love this house because it offers the best of both worlds. It's only 2 miles and 6 minutes from King St. in downtown Boone, with easy access to restaurants, events, and ASU football games. But it is 1000 feet up and over a mountain, so when we are at the house, we feel worlds away from everything.

What makes this property unique

This home has plenty of space to relax outdoors. There is one deck that feels like a treehouse in the summer, but has long range views once the leaves are off the trees. Another deck provides a place to grill and eat outdoor meals while watching the deer and chipmunks play. In the evenings, we enjoy gathering around the fire pit. Inside, it's cozy and comfortable with space for everyone.
