A Slice of Heaven

This was our second year enjoying this gorgeous home at the head of the bay. With a spacious deck and lawn for, beautiful view, and well-appointed but minimal interior (so you have everything you need, but a sense of calm pervades), this has been our favorite place to gather as a family, let cousins play and find shells, rocks, and seaglass. We arrived to a spotless, airy, dream home, and soaked in the relaxing atmosphere all week. The location is just a few minutes from all that Owl’s Head and Rockland has to offer. It’s a coastal-Maine-lover’s dream!

Perfect Mid-Coast Stay

This house is just an absolute perfect location for exploring the Rockland area. We stayed three weeks and the house never felt small or uncomfortable. The yard was wonderful for the kiddos, and we loved the couch and the views of the Rockland light. We would absolutely go back!

A week in Maine

This was our first trip to this part of the US and we certainly weren’t disappointed! Great and very well equipped house in a great location with easy access to local amenities and all that coastal Maine has to offer. Very much enjoyed the outdoor space and access to the shore. Would definitely recommend and hope to return some day soon!

Great beach exploring

We had a great time exploring the beach at low tide. Playing catch with three little girls and a dog, lots of outdoor space for them to play. Beautiful clean house with everything you could need. The best place to walk the shore and collect sea glass! You even have ping pong in the basement. Close to many hiking areas, light houses, museums , antique shops, lots of activities and private shoreline. Very friendly and easy to reach. I would recommend this house for your vacation

Great house and location!!!

The title says it all. We were close to everything… grocery stores, seafood markets, restaurants, shopping, beaches, hiking and walking trails, lighthouses, museums. We met Bert, the neighbor across the street who sells fresh lobsters. Jen, the owner, was welcoming and attentive, and Ann, who cares for the property, took great care of us. The house was beautiful! The view is amazing! We could see the Breakwater Lighthouse from the porch. We waded in the bay during high tide, and walked out as far as we could during low tide. I highly recommend this property!!!

The house was VERY nice and clean had everything you would need. We could sit on deck see Rockland break water and sailboats! The owner Jen was easy to get ahold of and answered all questions! The manager Ann was delightful also answered all questions! We had lobster one night from Bert across the street and Ann came over to get trash so it wouldn’t smell! It was a wonderful week! Highly recommend

We had a very relaxing time in this spacious home on the coast. It is obvious the owner and the property manager care about their guests. We had two minor issues with the internet which were both resolved very quickly. This home is clean and very well stocked with dishes starter spices and a nice grill on the deck! There was even a tablecloth on the table on the spacious deck! So many fun activities less than 10-20 minutes away too! Many thanks!

A delightful place, easily accessible and yet, entirely private. A lovely deck overlooking the bay with a gentle sloping yard down to the water - again, easily accessible. Peaceful, quite, located minutes from the lovely town of Rockland and within 15 minutes of Rockport and Camden. The house was as pictured and as promised. There were four of us (my wife and myself and my brother and his wife) and it was entirely spacious. There was a very nice 3rd BR that we did not use. The view to the inlet was very nice - we enjoyed the large deck out back and collecting sea glass at low tide. We also brought our kayaks and went looking at the ospreys fishing on the other shore line across from the house. It was safe and pleasant kayaking.In the house we found quite a few things missing for making meals there. We had picked the house based on the large kitchen thinking it was well equipped for cooking.Some basic things we missed were:A Bread Cutting knifeSalad SpinnerGrill utensils - particularly the brush to glean the grillAlu foil and shrink wrap - make sure you bring it yourself.Containers w lid for food storageThere were no napkins or place mats - paper or fabric. Only one kitchen towel roll - bring your own.No bath towels or at least what was there were thin and small. There were lots of them though.We also found the proximity to the heavy traffic road a bit of a concern when bringing pets as the yard was not enclosed.All in all we had a wonderful time and visited Rockland several times the local light houses, the many galleries and book stores, Camden and to the south we went to Port Clyde and Spruce Head.So much beautiful scenery.We went to the Prime Restaurant which was top notch and can highly recommend to dine there. Just down the road from the house.

The location couldn’t be beat. We went on this trip with our 10 year old and my husband’s mother and it was the perfect amount of space. Comfy couch for lounging inside, spacious dining table for indoors. Our favorite thing was the deck furniture (a large table with umbrella and an outdoor couch and chairs) to sit outside and watch the water. It was amazing to see the tide go in and out and my daughter had fun collecting sea glass at the little beach off the property and walking far out when the tide was low. Host was friendly and very communicative. Would recommend and come again!

We had a fabulous vacation here. This was our first trip to Maine. The house was clean, comfy, and had every amenity we needed as well as in the perfect location in Owl’s Head. Just a quick drive into Rockland, we enjoyed the Famous Lobster Festival our first weekend. We also met Bert who sells live lobsters daily across the street and ate a delicious lobster dinner. We also dined out at Ada’s, Orimo’s, and Claws in town. We took a day trip to Acadia, walked around Bar Harbor. We also visited two lighthouses and enjoyed nearby Crescent Beach. Our family of six made a lot of new memories!

Owls Head Waterfront House

We had a lovely week. Really comfortable house overlooking the water. Great for kayaking at high tide, eating and relaxing on the shady deck, exploring Rockland and sleeping in the comfortable beds.We definitely would like to visit again!

Perfect Home Base

This was our second year staying here, and we couldn’t be happier! The locations is quick and easy to anything you want to do in Rockland, and has a beautiful view out the back deck if all you want to do is relax with a couch made for napping.

Stunning at every angle!

I’ve never stayed in a spot and felt more at home with the decor and surroundings than at Head of Bay. The view from every window is lovely - the water, the gardens, the woods…the beds were comfy, house super well stocked. Seriously, I could see myself living here. The shops, galleries and restaurants in town were perfect. Small town feel but not sleepy. Just lovely, lovely, lovely!

What a view!

Water views fill this beautiful, light and air-filled home. The nice weather during Labor Day week was a great time to access low tide with our dog - head off the wonderful deck and walk down just past the back lawn. We loved the style of the home, white with beams and wooden planks throughout, no carpet, yay. Comfortable beds, super clean, tons of towels etc. A great home base to discover art, lighthouses, lobster dishes, Rockport, Camden, Monhegan island, and in-town Rockland, which had Friday art walk, Farnsworth, and some great dining, loved Claws for lobster, Primo for dining and live music, and In Good Company was our favorite. As others mentioned, the street noise can be loud, but the honking of the geese was a good balance :)

New Favorite Place

This is our 2nd year renting at this beautiful location. We love everything about it-especially walking when the tide is out. It is peaceful and relaxing. And we can bring our lab who loves to swim. We will return again next year!

Superb!

As soon as I saw the photos of this special place, I began daydreaming about our summer week in Maine. The experience was just as lovely as I imagined it would be. Jennifer was an amazing host, and her communication was quick and friendly. We loved the serene palette and simple comfort of this lovely cottage. The Vrbo images are completely accurate, and there is plenty of open space and a cozy couch for lounging and reading. We played cribbage on the deck and had a fabulous lobster dinner on the harvest table in the kitchen. Though it is near the main road to Rockland, the property sits slightly lower and feels private and quiet. Our daughters scanned the tidal flats for sea glass while the tide was out, and when the tide was in, we paddleboarded and kayaked around the cove. The proximity to Rockland, Port Clyde, and Camden was convenient for outings and scrumptious meals. Thanks again, Jen! I am already looking forward to next year!
