Thank you for the lovely review. We’re so glad Timberland Perch felt peaceful and beautiful for you. We would love to welcome you back for another stay.
The property is well maintained and communication is exceptional. The issue was we booked a home with two bedrooms. One with bunk beds and a full bed and the other with a queen bed. We were informed days before check in that the home only had single bunks and full bed. Not ideal for a family of 4. My husband had to sleep on the coach. This home is nice but only comfortably houses 3 people, bedding and living area included.
Great space, comfy beds, great location, and pet friendly. Loved the deer and the cat on the property. It has everything you need. We would definitely recommend it.
Great condo. Needs another bed as it was too stiff. The shower was very hard to use. Other than that the decorations and location were great. Very clean.
We had a wonderful long weekend. Quiet setting. Nicely decorated. Full kitchen. They had board games we played on the deck in the evenings. Had coffee on the deck every morning. A cat came to visit often. We called it Jerry. Would definitely recommend.
Cute, quiet little place for our family of 5. We stayed here while on our trip to Silverwood. Nice and close to the park. Just a short 20ish minute drive away.
The only thing I want to mention for other families with kids is that if you need to use all 3 beds in the bunk room, just be aware that the top bunk is really high and has no bar. None of ours would sleep up there. But such a minor detail and didn’t hurt our stay at all! We’d definitely stay again.
It was nice but we didn’t like that the bunk beds had no railings. It had nice clean beds and an updated look to the place. Didn’t have much for kitchen accommodations- such as spices, flour, baking powder, baking soda, basic stuff you need to cook with. But did have all the electrical appliances and pans. Kitchen towels smelled sour. But overall it was great and we would stay again if the opportunity arises.
I hate that I’m sensitive to smells, but as soon as we walked in my friend and I were hit with a smell that almost made me gag (almost like boy feet and maybe sewage issues) and it lingered everyday. I tried febreeze and opening windows... nothing helped. There is also no AC in the bedrooms, but they were greatly accommodating and provided fans. My friend slept in the furthest room and said it was too hot for comfort, so she mostly slept on the couch during our stay. Beautiful spot though.
1st: it is a 3 room apartment above a huge garage. 2nd, there are 18 outside, tall uncovered concrete steps you must go & down every time you go in and out and in winter it is horribly dicey. It was winter during my stay. I am 71 and it was every challenging. 3rd Hauser Gun Club is about a mile as the crow flies and the sound of constant gunfire during the day is maddening.
However: it is quiet at night, very clean, new and though small, nice. The TV gets few channels but Fox news is the one on...given the gunfire; I totally get it.
Yet: I do recommend it for those who read this and say "No problem" to what I felt were issues.
First, the good news: VRA, the VRBO rental managers, are amazing. They’re responsive and helpful and go above and beyond to meet expectations. So much so that they exceeded my expectations and that’s not easy to do. Next visit, I’ll reach out to them first to see which properties they’re managing.
The rental itself would have been fine for a young couple or family who have spent the last several years camping in tents and sleeping bags, and are ready for a roof over their heads but don’t require much more in the way of creature comforts. The furniture is worn, the kitchen chairs are all-metal, and I’ve seen camping backpacks that are better equipped than the kitchen. Not a good choice for an older couple like us who like a little luxury. None of those “criticisms” accrue to VRA by the way - all of that is on the owner. But if, like me, one of the reasons you choose a house instead of a hotel is because you like to make your own food, bring an apron, oven mitts, tongs, and a long-handled spoon. You won’t be sorry.

This property is overpriced. 500/night including a dog for 2 bedrooms without sufficient setup is pretty steep. Pictures are not up to date. There is only twin beds in second bedroom and the MBR has no nightstand and no desk — basically a bed and shelf racks. I had to use a kitchen chair and my cooler to make a nightstand for my glasses and phone.
What an amazing experience. Been working in the area for a few weeks. This was the perfect spot for peace and quiet after a long day. Property owner was really nice and approachable. Will definitely stay here again when I’m back in the area
What a beautiful space to relax and enjoy family and nature. The open layout was very functional for 4 adults and 2 teenagers. The bedrooms were set up very well with nice beds and linens, as well as very functional closets. The deck was perfect for having coffee in the morning and watching the sun come up over the lake and through the trees. It was picturesque. The gaggle of wild turkeys that passed through the yard every morning were extremely entertaining.
