Fun and funky South Austin ranch minutes to downtown. You will be close to local restaurants, shopping establishments, and steps away from anything you should need during your stay. Just 15 minutes from the airport and downtown, the house is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood in one of the few remaining "original" neighborhoods in Austin! Catch the bus line just outside the house to take you to all major points of interest around Austin. If you plan to spend some time not exploring all of the adventures that keep Austin weird, you'll enjoy walking through the big french doors onto a beautiful large deck with access to a campfire pit, hammock, lounge chairs, beer bench / outdoor dining table, entertainment area and grill.

Great home away from home
Brett's place was perfect for a weekend trip with family! We all arrived at different times and it was super easy for us to all have access and check in as we arrived. The location was in a nice quiet neighborhood and had very easy access to downtown. Driveway allowed for multiple cars to be parked off the street. We had a comfortable space for all of us to stay and visit together. The rooms were comfortable, bathrooms were clean and stocked with essential toiletries. Kitchen clean and organized with coffee provided. We enjoyed the common areas and spending time together - played cornhole in the yard and enjoyed catching up around the campfire. Brett was super responsive to messages, answered questions quickly, and provided recommendations for places to eat nearby. We loved our stay at this cozy Austin home. Will book again for future visits to Austin!

Why they chose this property

This house has the perfect balance for both rest and play. Unlike a lot of other neighborhoods on the edge of downtown that have been built up substantially, this neighborhood still has a quiet and authentic feel to it without sacrificing location. The large back yard really separates this rental from many others that are available as it's hard to find such a large outdoor space around Austin. The back yard is a safe haven for unplugging and relaxing with large, mature trees and abundant wildlife; you are sure to be serenaded by birds and cicadas while enjoying your morning cup of coffee in perfect solitude. Upon leaving the house you are two blocks from anything you need in terms of essentials for your stay, food and drink, and restaurants. It is also very easy to access major points of interest via public transportation or driving on your own.

What makes this property unique

Due to high rental costs, a lot of the artists that contribute to 'keeping Austin weird' have migrated to the south side of the city so there are regularly pop up shows and markets happening within minutes of the house. The neighborhood is also littered with authentic, family-owned eating establishments of varying cuisines. Whether its Mexican, Cuban, Thai, Vietnamese, or something else your taste pallets are desiring, you are sure to find it within a few miles.
