Reedville Retreat, waterfront w/ private dock &outdoor sink-for fishing/crabbing
A relaxing waterfront stay, with beautiful sunsets in the backyard. Adirondack sitting by the water, enjoying the breeze and the salt smell in the air with a campfire area at your feet. We are a 5 min. boat ride to the Chesapeake Bay. Spacious Victorian home allows multiple couples or families to stay without feeling crowded. Wonderful location for family reunions and couples get-away. Picturesque sun room overlooking the water, wraparound porch. Reedville is a quaint fishing village, with it's own "Millionaire's Row" of former sea captain's homes. Quiet streets are wonderful for biking or walking. Easy walk to the Fishermen's Museum, two delicious seafood restaurants (Crazy Crab and Reedville Market) with waterfront dining, a coffee shop (Fawn's), and an ice cream shop (Chitterchats). Perfect location for those with a boat (public boat ramp on our creek and private dock at the house) or kayaks to get out on the water daily. Crab pots on site to try your luck at catching a few of your own for dinner. Excellent Chesapeake Bay fishing and charters, as well as a ferry to Tangier Island. Area parks and nature preserves (Hughlett Point) for walking or bike riding or beach access (Vir-Mar Beach) within 20 minutes. Small town shopping and boutiques in the nearby area (Urbanna, Irvington). Wonderful antique shopping in the local hamlets(Killmarnock, White Stone). Williamsburg is 75 minutes away. During the fall, there are several small town oyster roasts and open air music events. October begins the fall stripper season for the avid fishermen or the lucky caster. Crab pots, fishing rods, 2 kayaks and a few bikes on site to use.

Fantastic. This was second time we’ve stayed here. Clean, roomy excellent location in heart of Reedville. Walking distance to museum, restaurants, ice cream shop, kids park, with boat dock on the property. Super comfortable. Owners were accommodating and thoughtful throughout the stay. Thank you again for another great stay!
Lovely well kept home with a boat dock with good water depth.
Home on main street in town with good parking.
There's not much to do in Reedville but if you like to fish or just relax as we do this place is perfect.
Bring your boat, very easy access to Chesapeake bay.
This house in Reedville, and Main Street itself, are so charming. We came in to town for the weekend and had a great time. The house has everything we needed and the hosts were super helpful and communicative. Thanks for having us and we are looking forward to coming back sometime!
Excellent place, so convenient for us. The 4th of July activities were at our front door, was great watching races, parades, aand fireworks, all while sitting on the front porch.
In town for the weekend for a celebration of life. Great place towards the end of town on the water. Nicely appointed home exactly as advertised. Super friendly owner. We will definitely come back under better circumstances.
My family stayed here for my son’s wedding in Reedville . Despite the rain it was a lovely weekend. This house was fantastic. The upstairs living space was spectacular. The beds were oh so comfortable! I highly recommend this place for anyone staying in the Reedville area.
Our family had a very nice stay at this Reedville home for Thanksgiving. The house is well kept and charming. Common areas are comfortable and have ample seating for large groups. The second floor sunroom is the best for enjoying waterfront views! The kitchen could use a large mixing bowl and Pyrex baking dish, but was otherwise well equipped. Location is very convenient on main street of Reedville, although things are a bit quiet in the off-season.
My wife and I, along with two grandchildren, thoroughly enjoyed a couple of nights in this charming house. The location is a quiet and idyllic historic fishing village at the end of a peninsula. Communication from the host was excellent and timely. We’d definitely return.
The house is charming and very comfortable. The owners are very helpful and easy to communicate with. The neighbors are very nice and have chickens, including a rooster, who does what roosters do very early in the morning. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay with a great location on the water.

We love the quiet escape of Reedville-only 2 traffic lights in all of Northumberland County! Being out on the water is relaxing, whether with a rod or a book in hand. Our children have grown up fishing, crabbing, and kayaking and have an appreciation for wildlife and the outdoors that grew out of their time and experiences here.
Why they chose this property
This home is a 1910 Victorian built by the son (George) of the founder of Reedville, Elijah Reed. The home is modeled after a Pilot House on a boat. The town treasures it's history and economic grounding in the menhaden industry. The old homes of past sea captains are wonderfully restored on Main Street and you can't help but feel like you are living in the early 20th century when strolling down the street. We are right on a river with a private dock. A woderful place to unwind, experience what quiet REALLY sounds like, and see what the night sky looks like away from city lights. Just amazing, words can't describe it, you just have to come experience the slower pace for yourself. I always sleep well in Reedville.
