The home features four comfortable bedrooms and three full bathrooms, making it perfect for families and small groups. Two large master suites include private in suite bathrooms. The additional two bedrooms each feature two twin beds and share a full hallway bathroom, providing flexible sleeping arrangements for guests.

The home’s very large open concept living space is perfect for gathering together after a day at the beach. The kitchen, dining area, and living room flow together to create a bright and welcoming coastal atmosphere for relaxing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Outside, guests will enjoy a large yard with plenty of space for kids to play. A detached two car garage is available for storing bikes, beach gear, or motorcycles. The property provides ample parking for multiple vehicles and offers the kind of privacy rarely found in beach rentals.

This home is dog friendly so your four legged family members can join the fun. A maximum of two dogs under seventy five pounds each is permitted. Because the lawn includes irrigation and sod, guests must clean up after their pets each time. A lawn cleanup fee of $150 will be charged if dog waste is not cleaned up.

Remove all food brought into the property and empty the refrigerators and kitchen cabinets. If the grill was used during your stay, it must be cleaned and left in good condition for the next guests.

If pets present, pet waste must be picked up from the yard and disposed of properly to protect the lawn and irrigation system. All windows and doors are closed and locked before leaving the property.

Turn off all lights, tvs', small appliances used during your stay. Set the thermostat 74...Additional cleaning required, trash, dishes, pet waste will result in additional charges.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Wonderful house with nice yard for grilling and relaxing after a day at the beach. The house is closer than I expected to Bethany beach and boardwalk. Wonderful restaurants and shops nearby as well. Would definitely stay here again!!

We reached out multiple times during the three days before your arrival requesting your expected arrival time but did not receive a response. When entry was requested, the individual did not initially identify herself as the primary renter, so we needed to verify her identity before providing access for the safety and security of protecting our property. We are pleased there were no issues with the home itself and regret that our required check-in procedures were perceived as disrespectful. Identify must be confirmed upon arrival as my contract states.

We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend this rental! The location was perfect—an easy drive to the beach while still being far enough away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing stay.We really enjoyed the Bethany Beach area, and having Dewey Beach nearby was a huge bonus. Being able to take our dogs to the beach and let them swim in the ocean made the trip even better. The property was very pet-friendly, and we loved the thoughtful setup for traveling with dogs.The house was exceptionally organized and very well stocked. There were more than enough pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen supplies, and the additional room with its own refrigerator was a fantastic bonus. We especially appreciated the pet gate, which made it easy to keep our pups in that area when we wanted them out of the main house.Everything was clean, comfortable, and clearly arranged with guests in mind. We had everything we needed for a great beach vacation.A couple of small things to note: the listing mentioned bikes and beach chairs in the garage, but we weren't quite sure how to access it. The host also prefers to meet guests at check-in to verify ID, which we completely understand, although it does require coordinating an arrival time.Overall, we had a fantastic stay, loved the location and amenities, and would definitely stay here again!

Plenty of parking, extremely clean throughout, efficient, quiet, and cold air-conditioning, and unusually well-stocked kitchen. Property was perfect for family of five adults, as each "child" got his own room. Loved that we could bring our dog. The flat yard -- with lush grass -- was nice for frisbee and catch; note that the property is not fenced. Quick drive to the James River Ecological Preserve with its dog-friendly beach. (Go closer to high tide if your dog likes to swim. Otherwise, it's more of a wade.)Property abuts two larger roads, but it sits back from both of them. and we heard little to no road noise. Ate dinner at the outside table, and that was also peaceful and pleasant. Another big bonus -- unusual for Delaware/Maryland beach rentals -- was that all bed and bath linens were provided. Hosts thoughtfully provided a few pods for both dishwasher and washing machine. My one (very minor) suggestion: since the property is dog-friendly, it'd be nice to have a hook or two by the back door -- or the outdoor shower -- for leashes.

Great family get away.

We had a wonderful stay at this very clean and well supplied house. Great kitchen to make meals and a large dining area to feed a big group. Lots of yard for our 2 small pups. Short drive to Bethany Beach.

Why they chose this property

This home is very special to our family. “Mabe’s Place” was my grandmother Mabel Layton’s home for over fifty years. After she passed in 2019, my husband and I were given the opportunity to purchase the property and preserve the place she loved so much.

We completely renovated the home from top to bottom including new plumbing, electrical, insulation, and a full interior and exterior transformation. We named the property “Mabe’s Place” in her honor.

My grandmother, lovingly known as “Mabe Babe,” was a wonderful, godly woman who taught Sunday school for 55 years and lived to be 94 years young. Family meant everything to her, and we believe she would be proud that her home is now a place where other families can come together, relax, and create special memories.

Sometimes we like to think she still checks in on the house. A bright red cardinal often visits the front of the home, and many guests notice it during their stay. It feels like a sweet reminder that the home she loved is still filled with life, laughter, and family.

We are honored to share Mabe’s Place with others and hope it becomes a place where beautiful memories are made.

What makes this property unique

Our home was completely remodeled in 2021 and is maintained in new to excellent condition. We thoughtfully updated every part of the property to provide guests with a clean, comfortable, and relaxing stay.

The kitchen features new appliances along with most small kitchen appliances you may need during your visit. It is fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and cookware so you can easily prepare meals just like you would at home. A new washer and dryer are also available for guest use.

For convenience, all bedding, pillows, blankets and towels are provided for every bedroom and each bathroom. We do have a cleaning and laundry fee that is the same for everyone regardless how many days you stay.

Each bedroom includes a Smart TV and the family/rec room features a larger Smart TV for relaxing after a day at the beach.

The home also includes a brand new HVAC system along with 24 hour monitored smoke detectors and a security alarm system that covers both the house and the detached rear garage for added safety and peace of mind.

We have tried to think of everything you might need so you can enjoy the most comfortable stay possible. If we can help in any way during your visit, please feel free to reach out anytime.
