Quiet Spring Break Stay

Came with one of my sons for his Spring Break for some one on one time. Nice and spacious. Clean and had all the cooking amenities needed to prepare meals in. We love staying at Bear Traps but we usually bring our dogs and have the rest of our family so we stay in a detached house. Great location at the end of October Glory - no one traffic coot those staying back there. Loved the porch looking over the water.

This is the second time my family has stayed at this home. It is relaxing, clean, and comfortable. When there is an issue, the owner is quick to respond, even if that means having a battery delivered to the door for a chirping smoke detector. Bear Trap Dunes is a great place to stay for your vacation. I would highly recommend this serene place.

Outstanding Vacation Home -- 6 Stars!

Quite possibly the nicest vacation home I've seen in nearly 72 years of vacationing. They absolutely spared no expense in adorning the home with appliances, furnishings and wall decorations. Clearly, the most well-appointed vacation home -- having everything that anyone could possibly need. We literally wanted for nothing. Ther were all of the appliances we needed, to include washer, dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, coffee maker, etc. Also, dishes, silverware, bowls, pots, pans, etc. This was the only vacation home that that I've ever seen that had smoke detectors AND was fully sprinklered. Also, there was a very inviting lanai for morning coffee or evening beverages. Absolutely the most quiet and well-groomed neighborhoods I've visited, being far away enough for peace and quiet, yet convenient enough for the beach and shopping. By the way, the price really made this a bargain.

Family trip

Overall we enjoyed the property. However there were a few things that could be addressed. The ice maker didn’t work. Some of the remotes didn’t have batteries and others were corroded. There were 4 remotes for the TV but no instructions on which one did what. There was only a tiny bit of hand soap left in the master bath and the one in the secondary bath only had water in it. The shower door for the master bath doesn’t close and therefore gets the floor wet and slippery which caused me to fall.

We loved staying in this home and had a fun family vacation just a short and easy drive to the beach. They had everything we needed right in the house - extra blankets, beach gear, fully stocked kitchen. Everything was clean and there was plenty of space for our group of 8 to spread out. We also loved the pool but were disappointed by the high price of the passes — $50 a person for the week (also includes other amenities). And they actually never even checked that we had them. Also we went to the second pool and were told we couldn't use it because it was owners only. That's nothing against the homeowners though, just Bear Trap Dunes in general. This place was lovely and we would definitely book again.

Room for improvement

Honestly, if this place improves their cleanliness that would go far. There was hair in the bathroom and on our bed that weren’t ours. Upon arriving, we had to empty the dishwasher. Lots of ants and ant traps around the house. Other than that, this house met our needs and the location was great too! Pictures represent the house well!

We take your feedback as an opportunity to improve. We have since employed a company to control the ants, we have spoken to our cleaning crew (which is generally awesome!) about the hair. Unfortunately the dishwasher can be a bit tricky during peak season as the dishwasher takes longer than one hour to run a full cycle and it takes about one hour for the amazing cleaning crew to make the place beautiful. Sometimes a tight window will leave them with no choice but to leave the dishes untouched and clean in the dishwasher for your hands to be the first to touch. If it is started by the person leaving it is ready to be emptied when they arrive, but it doesn't always work out for us. We apologize.

Nice quiet neighborhood

This townhouse was clean and big enough for our family. The neighborhood was friendly and quiet and 9 minutes from the beach! I would definitely stay here again. Pool passes are pricey for a short get away but over all we had a nice experience.
