Beautiful cabin and location! No central AC

This cabin is very cozy and comfortable. It gives wonderful forest vibes. The only issue is that we went on a weekend where the weather was in the upper 90s-lower 100s and this place doesn’t have central AC. After booking, I noticed the listing said nothing about having AC so I reached out to the host. She confirmed there was no central AC but the cabin is equipped with two portable AC units. The units were off upon our arrival so we entered into a 97 degree cabin (thermostat reads current temperature). It was very difficult to cool it down but we slept that night and woke up to it being 82 degrees inside that next morning. We kept the AC units and fans on all day and all night but they could not keep up with the heat during the day. The next day it still reached 88 degrees inside with everything still running. By around 10pm, it finally cooled down enough to maybe sleep with a very light sheet. We had to check out a night short of our reservation because the heat was taking too much out of us. Our dog was constantly panting and started looking a little lethargic so we thought it was best to leave early. I wouldn’t give this place a bad review, just maybe don’t book if the weather is above 80-85 degrees. Everything else was wonderful. We were given a complementary bottle of wine as well as a s’more’s kit to use in the fire pit. It’s a beautiful cabin and I would definitely come back, but perhaps only in the fall or winter. Not sure what the heating situation is, but definitely in the fall.

We are a family of four in the East Bay with two boys under two and 2 dogs! Mom works in local government and Dad owns a small construction company. We are very passionate about small business development and shopping local whenever possible. For example, the cabin is *ALWAYS* 50% for Calaveras Country residents. DM for more info :)

We bought our cabin in Arnold because the pandemic and two babies back to back showed us that the thing we care about most is being together as a family as much as possible. We want the cabin to be a space for families and friends to build community and longtime memories without hidden fees and harsh rules.

Why they chose this property

Arnold is *perfect* for families wanting to enjoy "easy" snow and amazing summer lake and pool fun. Our cabin is three minutes from the Blue Lake Springs pool and Clubhouse, and five minutes from the private lake, Fly-In Acres. We are also super close to White Pines Lake in town!

Our cabin is also a fantastic snow cabin with a sloped hill in the back perfect for sledding and using the saucers that come with your rental. We also have a paved, flat driveway with a snow plow service that makes your snowy trip carefree.

What makes this property unique

We are in the Blue Lake Springs private community with two private lakes, a golf course, a pool, a gym, and a private restaurant. This is the most desirable location in Arnold and truly makes for a resort-like stay.
