Madison/Stoughton 3 BR/3 BA Lake Kegonsa Cottage

Located at Crown Point Resort on the top of a hill overlooking 3000 acre Lake Kegonsa, sets Cottage #4. It is a large cedar sided two story, 3BR 3BA home (1500 sf). Rented Sat-Sat mid June to mid Aug. 3 night min on holidays. Inside, there is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and lots of pots and pans, laundry, 3 cable TVs, and air con units in all three bedrooms. Outside, there is a screened porch, and a deck with a Weber charcoal grill. There is a swingset/sandbox area next to the deck, and a pier to tie your boat or cast a bait. Madison has a wealth of food,
music, and activities only 15 minutes away. This is a great place for families to get together. I have several that have stayed for 30+ summers! We rent kayaks, paddleboards, and a pontoon. No pets allowed. Located at #1 rated Crown Point Resort, the #4 Cottage is also top rated by VRBO. Not a party house. No Bachelor/bachelorette groups. Owner lives on the property.

Beautiful Lake Setting for a Fun Weekend

A Vendor and his son were in town with me for a Badgers Football Game and the setting was superb - very calming and beautiful scenery around the Lake. The Property Manager/Owner was awesome and I will definitely be returning on future trips to Madison.

Great Property

Frank is a gracious host, and the property was as described. Perfect fit four our family of 4 - individual bedrooms, great spot to watch TV, and indoor and outdoor spots to play games. Would gladly return.

Badger Game Weekend

8 of us stayed here for a weekend. The place was clean and had a spectacular view. We were pleasantly surprised since the pictures don't do the house justice. There was a 3 seasons room, patio furniture, a grill, lake toys, 3 big screen TVs, and lots of puzzles/games. It was very quick and easy getting to Camp Randall. We will be staying here again!!

Perfect Escape From Chicago

Growing up I would spend a week each summer in the Northern Woods of Wisconsin, Frank's resort took me back to those idyllic Summer vacations but without the hassle of a 6+ hour drive. This is the perfect spot for people looking to de-stress and relax and the two hour drive from Chicago makes it the perfect weekend getaway spot. The cabin had everything we needed from stocked kitchen supplies, WiFi access, and plenty of room for our family to enjoy. The views are stunning and we just wish the weather would have cooperated a bit more for us!

Stayed here for 3 nights with some friend who were doing the Madison Ironman. we loved this place. It had plenty of space. We were a short walk to the lake. It was very easy to communicate with Frank. He was very accommodating. There was a sign when we got there that they didn’t provide soap or paper towels or paper products. We managed but I could have used more soap dispensers for hand washing during covid. No complaints otherwise and everyone enjoyed their stay.

My group had a great weekend stay at cottage 4. We enjoyed spending mornings and evenings soaking in the ambiance on the deck. The host was extremely responsive and helpful and the checkout process was a breeze (no lengthy pre-departure chore list). We are already hoping to return for another visit in the future. A few neutral heads ups that other renters may find helpful:Soaps and paper products are not supplied with the rental, so one should plan to bring or source those items themselves. It is a lake cottage, so a few indoor bugs are to be expected. The other cottages on the property are very close by, so one should be mindful of the noise they are making when outside (we didn't experience any noise issues from other renters), and expect to see employees and/or other renters walking through the "backyard" area of the cottage. There are a couple long steep sets of stairs down to the lake and docks which may pose issues for young children or those with mobility issues.

We loved staying at the cottage on Lake Kegonsa. The owner was super friendly and helpful. The rooms are as described; the kitchen was well stocked; and the view was beautiful! Would definitely stay here again, if the opportunity presented itself!

Stayed for 3 nights from out of state. Had last minute cancellation so invited local family to stay. Other family and friends stopped by to say hi and to visit. On site management was not happy with traffic and family visiting had to find temporary pet accommodations or we were going to be evicted. Cottages were nice and spacious and convenient but next stay would be where we would not feel like being watched.

Gorgeous cottage, gorgeous grounds, gorgeous lake, gorgeous atmosphere. The place is really undersold and we were so blown away. The cottage is just fantastic with the washer, dryer, and dishwasher to make our stay so stress-free. The beds were so comfortable and the linens fresh and inviting. Truly can't say enough about what a fantastic time we all had and how truly beautiful this place is. We will absolutely be back.

Great location but the mattress wasn’t the best and the window air conditioner didn’t cool. It is an older property with 1980’s furniture and decor.

Lake Kegonsa is still undiscovered. Great fishing and water sports. It is a short drive to all the fun that Madison offers.

This is a uncrowded lake close to Madison. Water fun is right out your door. Kayak, paddleboat, fishing and pontoon boat rentals. Boat dockage on the pier is free.
