An odd house but it worked for us
Large house with lovely deck and patio, well supplied clean kitchen. The three bedrooms upstairs w queens were nice and comfy, the "kids" room in the basement off the enormous game room was not desirable but someone had to sleep there so we drew straws. The game room was gigantically out of proportion to the rest of the house and not a great hang out area for us- it had, in addition to the pool and ping pong tables, a bar and a stage; like it was modeled after a drinking establishment. The hot tub was gross so we never tried it. The decor celebrating the killing of animals was unpleasant for us. The oddest thing was the lake level- way below what is pictured. The docks were probably 80 feet below the front yard area, docks were sitting in mud and no one was using the lake for water skiing or anything else as apparently the lake has been well below pictured level for years. The birds were many- amazing and diverse, and we enjoyed them very much. It was for us, an excellent location for viewing the eclipse, which rewarded us with a parting of the clouds at the right hour. The thunder storm that night was dramatic and awe-inspiring- a real treat for non-Texans. Loved the fireplace! and there was a wood supply nearby.
Warning for any w mobility issues- many many steps!!!
