Other Things to Note:
Boat Rentals available
Wave-runners, paddle boards and other lake toys can be rented and delivered to your property.
(Note: Douglas Lake is a TVA impoundment of the French Broad River, and TVA lowers the water level during the fall and winter months. When the lake is at “full pool” we have approximately 12 feet of water depth off the outside of the dock and 21 feet of depth in the middle of Flat Creek. This is adequate for swimming, fishing, boating etc.. When the water level is lowered, the Circles dock is “high and dry”, but we are left with a pleasant mountain stream curling up directly below the dock. No guarantees can, or will, be given as to available water levels. Historical water level charts are available online. Experience seems to indicate that there is usually boat-able water to the dock from around the middle of April until mid to late September.)

Week at Lake House
We had a wonderful time at this place. We didn’t even know there were kayaks and a paddle board there for us to use so that was a nice surprise! There were some little things here and there that could have used some attention but it’s understandable. Very nice neighborhood, quiet and peaceful.

Nice family getaway
Overall, we would say our stay at this location was a great family trip. We traveled 10 hrs with ages 2-65. Upon arrival the house appeared to to be clean with a modern appearance. The house was stocked with plenty of kitchen items, and the rooms/bathrooms were newly renovated and as described. Being lakefront was what attracted us to this property and we spent most of our time on the dock. Although we greatly enjoyed our stay there were many things that needed more attention. Upon arrival, a toilet paper holder was ripped off the wall, the striker plate on the back door had fallen off, the hot tub was over flowing with water onto electrical wiring, and the washing machine had an error code. Although the description of the house was accurate, it was lacking in many ways. For example, upon arrival a note said “do not use towels at the lake”. We understand this, but it would have been considerate to be told “bring your own lake towels”. The porch swings were taken down due to weather the week before and the porch itself was consumed in cobwebs and dirt. On the dock, the old furniture was replaced by new but still piled in the corner. Both kayaks and paddle board were damaged taking on water and unusable. A deep clean inside was necessary. Under the couch and behind the beds were incredibly dusty. Construction dust in the basement bathroom was not cleaned up from renovations. More attention to detail would take this rental from good to great.

Parents of babies, please read
Parents, please read: I’m starting with this because it’s a major red flag. The spiral staircase has flaw in which the railing on the back side doesn’t go all the way to the wall. There was a 9” gap (we measured) between the railing and the wall. We went with a 18 month old and I’m just so thankful that my husband noticed before the baby got near it. I was sick to my stomach thinking of what could have happened to our baby had he not noticed… My six year old could completely fit through the gap which is open to the bottom level of the house. If a child fell though they would hit the metal staircase before landing at the bottom of the floor below… It needs to be addressed asap before a child gets seriously injured or worse. If you rent this house with children please block this off before letting them enter the home. We had to go buy a baby gate and zip tie it to the railing. I did let the property manager know while we were there so I hope they will address this serious issue. With that said, overall, the property and location were great. We loved the house and the lake access. The dock was great, mattresses comfy, and my big kids loved the small kayak and paddle board that were there. If not for the very dangerous railing, it would have gotten 5 stars from us.
