Secluded cottage on Tropical flower farm

Far from the crowds and Condos... Far from the noise and tourist traps... There is the old Hawaii of HANA, a small community overlooking beautiful Hana Bay on the windward east end of Maui. Hana is cooled by the trade winds that blow across the Pacific and nourish us with evening showers that make this part of Maui lush and tropical.

As you travel the magical 'road to Hana' you leave the real world behind and slowly enter the land of old Hawaii, with waterfalls, majestic coastal views and jungle rain forests. By the time you arrive in Hana you will sense a slight change. You will feel a slower pace, more peaceful and quiet.

As you follow the private drive through the tropical flower garden to our secluded Tradewinds Cottage, you will discover the Hawaii that you came to see.

Our two bedroom, one bath cottage has just been beautifully remodeled. It features a full kitchen with granite countertops, a gas range, microwave and coffee maker. The cottage has a queen size bed and two twin beds. It has satellite TV, DVD player, plus wireless internet access.

This vacation rental is fully permitted. Permit #STHA 2018/0001, SUP2 2012/0034

**NOTE: There is no longer a hot tub at this cottage. You may see the hot tub mentioned in reviews but it was removed during the recent remodel.

Beautiful property that fit our party of 3 perfectly. The location is close to Hāna but also wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Thank you for leaving boogie boards - we enjoyed using them! There is no AC at this property and it did get warm at night, but the hosts provided several fans and it cooled off by morning. A ln outdoor grill would have made cooking nice, but the kitchen is beautiful and had everything we needed. Would stay again!

Trip to Hana

The property was as described and worked well for our visit. We did not want to do the Road to Hana in one day. We spent two nights which gave us the opportunity to fully explore the area.The place was clean and kitchen was well equipped. We would stay there again.

Such a nice quiet cabin tucked away surrounded by trees. Very clean and spacious (perfect for 4 adults). Only complaint is there is no AC.

We loved this house. Although it's not far off the road, it feels your in the middle of a lush tropical rainforest. The house was well furnished and the kitchen had all the supplies we needed. There were two boogie boards available for guests but there aren't many waves around Hana. One minor complaint is that it would have been helpful if there was a welcome binder with information about the house and the area.

Private Cottage

We felt like we were isolated in a tropical jungle. Cottage had everything we needed and was a perfect spot for a couple nights while we toured Hana. Would love to stay here again!

Gorgeous and comfy

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay. The house is very comfortable and close to all of Hana's various food trucks (and the couple little stores), while still feeling quiet and secluded. The big covered porch with the dining table offered a great place to be when it rained. We'd definitely book again!

Beautifully secluded tropical oasis

You will feel right at home in this very clean, cozy lush environment. If you’re looking for a change of pace tucked in a beautiful environment look no further. My 15-year-old son and I stayed here for 4 nights and felt right at home. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, and although they could have a few more cooking items, we were able to make all of our favorite meals from home. I would highly recommend this place for any family and friends seeking a longer stay than most in Hana.

The location is honestly surreal. Some of the most stunning trees you’ll see as long as you live right in your backyard. It’s very impressive that the host managed to set up high speed wifi co side ring the area. Host was very chill and easy to rent from. Can’t go wrong

We stay four nights. Excellent location when staying in the Hana area. Rental had all the correct and needed items as listed in the property description. As with a lot of Hawaii properties that we've used the Wifi connection most of the time didn't work well. Either no connection or very slow at times. This was the only draw back.

Charming little cottage

Had a wonderful stay in Hana for the second time in as many tries. Perfect little getaway spot close to town but off the beaten path. Easy access to the property next to two other properties but you wouldn't know except for the occasional dog bark. Spacious living/dining/kitchen area with all the necessities needed for a short stay of two nights. Main bedroom is on the smaller side, but just perfect for a relaxing sleep. Wifi worked well enough for being "off the grid" for the most part. Hot tub worked and was nice a hot to soothe the body after a long drive. Will definitely stay here in the future if available. Check in and check out a breeze with a lockbox for the house key. Thank you again for the stay!

Great getaway, hidden from the road and neighbors.

Wonderful getaway cottage, felt like we were isolated, but actually close to the main road and the amenities of Hana. Loved the outdoor front porch. Nice kitchen with lots of counter space. Bedrooms and bathroom are updated, clean, and comfortable. Internet wasn't working when we arrived, but a hard reset of the router fixed it - good signal thereafter. Could use a little more seating in the living room for watching TV, but that's a minor suggestions. Thanks for the great stay - will definitely think of the cottage again in the future. Oh also, would be good for future guests to know that the road down to the cottage could be muddy in rainy weather. An SUV or other car with all wheel drive might be better to drive in.

Simply beautiful

We had a very relaxing and peaceful experience in the botanical garden. Waking up to jungle vibes and sounds was worth the stay in Hāna. We were so close to our day trips to Black Sand,Beach, Red Sand Beach, Hamoa Beach, and the Hasegawa General Store. We made it to the Gulch and Bamboo Forest- which was beautiful. The Seven sacred pools are not swimmable and were kind of stagnant and unable to get to safely anyways. Waterfall was not very active at this time. There’s also an outdoor store and pizza spot literally on the main road from the turn off to the cottage. It was all lit up under bamboo construction and was poppin’ on the weekend with live music. The only thing we could say would have made this a better experience would be some string lights on the patio to enjoy at night. Maybe so it isn’t available to track more bugs? But the porch is a gorgeous place to hang out. undbamboo

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing and close to town

Feels like another world. Getting to the Hana area isn’t an easy drive but it’s worth it. The house is remodeled and has pretty much everything. Note there isn’t a washing/dryer and there’s no laundromat in town so plan accordingly. Also you won’t have cell reception for much of the drive so make sure to download your checkin information ahead of time. I didn’t remember this part so we drove a bit further until we had a signal and got the info. Easy checkin once I had my info. There is internet which works pretty well but not for streaming. They have satellite TV though so you can watch Netflix/etc if you want. We did watch some TV and it worked reasonably well… some buffering but no big deal. Note also there’s no air conditioning but we didn’t feel like we needed it as we kept the windows open and the screens are in good condition. We’d stay again. The Hana area is a special place. Thanks!
