Cozy cottage set in the pines of Ocean Park with a private deck facing a brook. There is out door seating for 6 on the deck, with a gas grill for your barbecues. An inside dining room has additional seating for 6-8. You will love the up-dated features that maintain respect for the historic qualities of the cottage and setting. The bath features an original footed tub (with shower added)... and a pedestal sink complements the era. Two upstairs bedrooms feel open and airy. The front bedroom is connected to a sunny sleeping porch that now serves as a separate reading nook. This room has 2 twins that may be used separately, or maintained as a king bed. The second bedroom is smaller, and is usually kept as twin beds. A sofa bed in the living room adds space for two more guests.
You will love the old 1950s feel of the community, the privacy of this setting, yet you will still be in the midst of it all. The cottage is conveniently located within walking distance to the beach, tennis courts, shuffle board, and local charm. Ocean Park is in southern, coastal Maine where 7 miles of sandy beaches are at the end of the street. Opportunities for riding the waves, kayaking to a light house, hiking, walking, surfing, biking, Ferry Beach State Park, and cultural and educational programs are all right at your finger tips. Love this place, 3rd year staying with Lin. Easy walk to the beach and room for all of us. Plugs upstairs could be updated, they're so lose our chargers fall out.
The beach walking 5 minutes walk. Its 10 minutes to a super market. We also went to a water park 10 minutes away. Would hoghly recommend this cottage. It has everything you need for a great vacation.
We had a wonderful time. This was our 66th annual family reunion. Our 10 year old granddaughter was with us for 10 days and loved it. We love Ocean Park!
Everything was as advertised. We loved the cottage and felt right at home. Our 8 year old Granddaughter said she wanted to stay forever. It was a wonderful time of making memories with her.

Thank you, Cindy!
We’re so happy to learn that you and your family enjoyed your stay!
This is our second year staying with Lin. The house had the wood floors refinished, new carpeting and a new paint job. Lin is responsive and pleasant to talk to. We will be back next year for sure..
House was very clean. Nice furniture. Beds were nice. Kitchen could use a few more pans/griddle. The bathroom could use some work. The tub was hard to get in/out of. No space to put things like a counter. All in all, We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Thank you for your honest feedback & concerns, Greg. We have had difficulties finding housekeeping services since COVID. We have plans for a total refresh over the off-season & hope that you’ll stop in next season to review the improvements!

Ocean Park is a cute village right on the ocean. This property is exactly as listed and perfect for a family. The walk to the beach is only 7 min or if you bring a bike it is much quicker. The owners are responsive and the property is clean with nice touches around the house. The only downside is that there are aggressive mosquitos outside so be sure to bring some bug spray (note: this is not unique to this property, it is generally the case around Ocean Park).
The house worked great for our family of four. We slept well in the king size bed and also did our daughters in the twin beds. Luckily, we didn't have to use the fold out couch that seems to be at the end of it's life. The carpet upstairs is quite old too but overal all, we didn't mind too much. The water pressure was great and the dishwasher and the washer and dryer worked really well! The kitchen could be better equipped (no salt, pepper, coffee or oil) and the two pans where small. Other than that, the location is perfect and we really enjoyed our stay!! :)
We always enjoy visiting Ocean Park. The beach there is terrific. This house is about three blocks from the beach, so a pretty easy walk. It’s a pretty quiet street and our kids were able to ride bikes and skateboard up and down it as well. The house itself was small, but accommodated our family of five ok. We used the pull out couch to make it work. The house was a bit musty, but turning the air conditioning on helped and I’m sure running a dehumidifier would help too. The owners were very accommodating and responded to our communications promptly.
Very cute cottage on nice quiet street. Nice to have Washer/dryer and dishwasher even
though we didn't use them. Wi-Fi and air conditioning definitely came in handy. Back deck was nice to sit on and relax after being at the beach all day.

Vacation of Mold and Mildew
This cottage sits on an earthen basement and next to a swampy area. This combination results in the cottage have mold and mildew problems, to which my family has sever allergies. We stayed one horrible night in the cottage, and escaped at 5 AM the next morning. We were forced to seek other accommodations. The owners were notified and brought a new air conditioner for the upstairs, but this did not resolve the problems. In addition, the old clawfoot tub does not drain well and you will stand in ankle deep water, the floor boards have lots of gaps and dirt is trapped in those spaces, so it is impossible to clean them. It was more like a camping then a nice cottage. VRBO will not let you submit without stars, this is the only reason I gave this property ANY stars - very disappointing.

Perfect Summerhouse for a walk to the beach
We enjoyed our stay. We were there with 3 kids. That worked perfect. The kitchen is in a good shape and everything to cook is there. The bathtube works and the waterpressure is excellent.
We enjoyed that we could walk to the beach and drive in a short time to Portland and other Places.

REVEIW UP-DATES
REVIEW UP-DATES: We realize that people rely on reviews to make vacation decisions. We have had no reviews for a while because we have been enjoying the cottage for personal use. The cottage is also occupied off season by families in transition. I will be up-dating the listing to show improvements, that we have added a washer/dryer and have cable and internet for everyone's additional convenience. Please feel free to send us a message if you have additional questions or concerns.

Decent cottage near beautiful beach
We have stayed here for the last 2 summers. It is a cute cottage that is nicely decorated in a beachy theme. Great location about 2 blocks near beautiful Ocean Park beach. Nice little ice cream shop and gift store nearby. It is also a short drive to the busy Old Orchard area which is a fun place to walk around but it is nice not being in the thick of it all week. Funtown / Splashtown is always a hit with the kids and is just a few minutes away. Movie theater nearby as well. Lots to do! The cottage is a small, quaint place. The bedrooms upstairs were ok though they were very hot for sleeping. We mentioned it to the owner before renting a second time and she was very responsive and purchased an air conditioner the second year after we mentioned it and it made it more comfortable. The bath/shower isn't ideal. Nice looking claw tub but not very practical. Priced right to account for the pros and cons! Owner was responsive and nice to work with.

nice cottage
Potentially nice little property. There was no brook and the back lot was all grown in. We were really disappointed that the deck was unusable due to so much mold and mildew. The shower was very difficult to use withou flooding the floor and the carpets were not clean. Overall, this could be a very nice little getaway with just a bit of owner attention to it. It's location is wonderful.
Response from VrboOwner on 29 March 2020
Thanks for your feedback, Pat. It was very helpful in our improvements. We now have a pressure washer for the deck and have cleared the yard for a better view of the brook. (Yes, there is a brook there!) We were also able to locate the stain on the carpet in the reading area. This too, will be addressed with the seasonal cleaning!! Thank you, again for your valuable input!
Hope that you will stop by to see the improvements!

I stayed here a couple of summers. Nice peaceful location about 5 minute walk to quiet ocean beach and about 30-45 minute walk to OOB pier. The two upstairs bedrooms are twins, one of them with the ability to push beds together. Neither room has a door on it, although the first year I did buy curtains that I hung in the doorway. The shower is not big and the water temp kept changing on me. Something kept getting in the trash outside, so I was having to clean that up. Cute little cottage though. Town has tennis courts, post office, deli, ice cream, gifts, and couple of restaurants.

Great to hear from you, Randy!
Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad that you have enjoyed staying with us.
Since your last visit, we have addressed the containers to keep the "critters" out, and added a bedroom door. Your comments and feedback were very helpful!
Best wishes,
Lin
