Villa Aberlado in San Jose

With late booking and scarce flight availability, this villa had an attraction that we wanted to try. We booked last-minute flights at a premium price, booked Villa Aberlado and hired an intermediate SUV with the worry that we may struggle with luggage. On arrival at Almeria, we were gifted an upgrade to a Renault Espace which swallowed our luggage. Exactly 35 minutes steady drive we arrived to meet a Spanish agent who spoke very little English (we are in Spain!), and following a brief tour of the property we dropped our cases and headed out to the nearest supermarket some 30km away (choice of Lidl and Mercado) we subsequently learned that there are three mini-markets in the village, one at least being more than sufficient. Back to base and a good look around the Villa to find the best charcoal BBQ that I have ever encountered took hold – if you like to cook on a real charcoal BBQ then oh my, this is the best ever. This was the start of an amazing experience, our first day was blessed with sunshine and a sublime relaxation, but our next two days were horrendous rain storms that blighted Spain. Thankfully, the Villa was so comfortable and like home, that we just settled in to relax. The Villa is incredibly well-equipped, and the kitchen has absolutely everything that you need (except a kettle if you are from England for your early morning tea!) – there are no shortages of cutlery and crockery. Would we visit again? Absolutely, this place is a sure winner!

Dreams do come true.

We rented this house out to meet up with my mother-in-law, who lives in Spain on a tomato farm. We wanted to give her a relaxing time since she works so hard even in her 70s. Once we got there, we realize the house was so big we had to surprise grandma and fly all her other grandchildren that She had only seen once before. I’m so thankful we were able to have our grown daughters in there 20s spend time with their grandma who lives on the other side of the world. I know we will never forget it. The house was so clean and absolutely gorgeous! The pool is stunning and the views are breathtaking. This was our 1st time in Spain in April (we usually go every September for mom’s birthday) so we are already talking about gettin this house in September! The walk to the town square and beach are maybe 13 minutes at max… if a lady in her 70s could walk it 3 times a day…. Anyone can. We will always have the best memories of nightly walks to take out the trash… seriously the best time just walking the trash out. The neighborhood is very peaceful and the neighbors are welcoming. The owner was so helpful and we are so thankful for the hospitality. The management company was very welcoming and helped us open doors and windows, showed us the lights for the pool and patio. They even helped us book a private boat ride on the Mediterranean coast. Once again… Dreams do come true. This vacation was proof. I’m just so happy our 20 yr old daughters got to reconnect with their grandma.

Wunderschönes Haus, herrliche Lage und Aussicht

Wir hatten mit unseren 5 Teenagern eine tolle Zeit in diesem wunderschönen Haus. Es war alles wie auf den Bildern und prima ausgestattet. Sogar eine Paellera für 10. Die Gegend hat sich in den letzten 40 Jahren kaum verändert und zu Fuß zum Strand zu können war herrlich. Jeden Morgen eine kleine Runde dort hin joggen war super. Der Nationalpark Cabo de Gata ist durchweg von unfassbarer wilder Schönheit und es gibt viel zu unternehmen. Wir kommen hoffentlich wieder.
