About this property

Secluded Cozy Cabin in the Forest

The private Bear Cabin sits on 10 wooded acres surrounded by 80' ponderosa pines. Newly constructed, yet rustic cabin with wood stove, farmhouse kitchen sink, and a covered porch for relaxing after a day of adventure. Pets are welcome, but please check with the host. Small dogs are fine.
The space
Although the cabin is secluded on 10 acres near the national forest, you are only a 6-7 minute drive to the Town of Dolores with shopping, antique stores, fabulous restaurants, fishing in the Dolores River, and boat and other water sports rentals. It is also a 10 minute drive to the new McPhee Marina and Reservoir. The small kitchen area is fully equipped with a microwave and electric skillets - except there is not an oven. There is a gas barbecue on the front porch and a large picnic table in front of the cabin. Fire wood is provided for the wood stove.
Guest access
The cabin has it's own private driveway and is 100 yards from the owner's cabin on the property. Guests have access to all 10 acres.
Other things to note
Colorado Sales Tax License #26156688-0000. Tax is included in the nightly price.

Amazing Cabin in the Woods
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the really great "one room " cabin. In the pine woods, but convenient to the town of Dolores. The hosts were totally attentive to insure we had all we needed. Will be back.

Beautiful getaway
This little cabin was the perfect size for the two of us. It had all the conveniences of home, in a cut little space! It's close enough to things to do but far enough to where you don't feel like you're in the middle of a major tourist area. The hosts were very friendly & helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed daily visits from the owner's dog, Jack. I highly recommend this cabin!

Wonderful stay
It's a wonderful small cabin that is perfect to come back to after a long day of fishing or hiking. The bed and all the furniture is comfortable. The cabin was well decorated and very clean. The cabin is quite close to town incase you need to grab provisions or go to dinner/lunch/breakfast in Dolores which has a few great options. Overall just a great well-priced cabin if you want to go on an adventure in Colorado or need some seclusion.

Lovely cabin
We cannot begin to sum up how wonderful this cabin is. It is perfect for two adults (think studio size), but has everything you need. Super clean and quiet. There is no stove/oven but there are electric skillets, hot plate, coffee maker, microwave, and a bbq grill for all your food prep needs. Our first morning we woke up to three deer in the pasture across the cabin. The rest of our stay we enjoyed seeing the horses in the pasture, a momma robin sitting on her eggs, as well as a friendly hummingbird that took a lot of interest in my husband sitting on the porch. :-). The porch is great for sitting and relaxing. The owners were on site down another driveway if we needed anything, but we never saw or heard them. This place was perfect in every way! Plenty warm on the chilly nights and cool during the day, shaded by the ponderosa's. It's close enough to town but far enough away from any noise. We plan to come back again and again!
