Losing a loved one is never easy but one very important to do item was crossed off our list in a matter of hours when we found this listing on VRBO. With just the right number of bedrooms for our family that was coming from out of town for the services. Brad our host was so caring and very accommodating throughout our stay. The property was far better than a hotel for our group. The house is beautifully decorated and clean. It had everything you could need, a well-stocked kitchen, towels and Brad even found us a linen service. All of our guests want to come back "to the mansion" when they can enjoy the pool, stores, restaurants and the beach.A big thank you to Brad for allowing us to be joyful together during this trying time.
This rental property was outstanding in every regard: beautifully decorated and well appointed. The rooms were spacious and very accommodating for our 12 occupants. The pool provided a great place to retreat to after a long day at the beach. The house was very well located to the beach and center town of Avalon. Our children loved the opportunity to walk to town for shopping, and ice cream breaks.
Our vacation was a huge success and enjoyed by all; largely responsible to the house and its surroundings.
This is a property we will look to return to in the future.
We loved Avalon & the location of the house. It is walkable but drove over to 10th ave with kids and lots of stuff! Having the ground level in law space that was separate was great! A few negatives: Only 2 out of the 4 bikes were rideable, the other 2 were broken & house could use a lot more cleaning. The Owner was great go communicate with when beach badges were missing & overall we had a great family week!
Brad was extremely accommodating for our stay at this property. His flexibility with dates allowed us to enjoy a trip to Avalon for our wedding. Our family enjoyed the deck and fenced in yard, playing games and relaxing.
The short walk to the beach was perfect.
We enjoyed riding bikes into town, however one bike did not have brakes.
The set up of the house was perfect for our situation, and had everything we needed. We would recommend this property for a week at the beach!
The location (quiet north end of the island, near the 8th street beach, the soccer fields and playground, yet close enough to Kohler's and Avalon Freeze for the 6 and 8 year olds to bike there and back!) could not have been better; the design of the home (two sleeping floors separated by the living area) was perfect for our family; the house was bright and tastefully furnished. My one suggestion is to use a different cleaning service.
We truly had an awesome week in Avalon! The house was perfect, exactly as displayed in the pictures! We stayed a week with 5 teenagers and the bikes were used every day! Short walk to the beach, and quick bike ride into town, the house is in the perfect location in a nice neighborhood! Loved that we could bring our dog and the fenced in yard was great!
Brad is a great host, and replies within hours to any questions.
Brad's house in Avalon was wonderful for a quiet and relaxing winter stay over the Christmas break! We enjoyed cooking, playing games, watching streaming TV, and walks on the beach. We especially appreciated how the kitchen was so well-stocked. The house was spacious for our extended family and my parents enjoyed the ground-floor in-law unit as both private and accessible. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. The only small drawback is that the location is a 8-10 min. walk away from the beach, but it is also only 1 block to the tennis and pickleball courts, so a pretty good trade-off!
Fantastic!
This house fit us perfectly to celebrate our Thanksgiving and include our dogs too.!
Loved the “inlaw quarters “ , fenced in yard , large dining table ,and the ease of communication with the owner. ! Will definitely look forward to renting this property again !
We had a wonderful week in this amazing house! The house was so large and comfortable and had everything we needed for a fabulous time. We’d love to go back!
Perfect for a larger family with young children and pets
A well kept older home with ocean views and close to beaches. Host kindly accommodated our schedule for this relatively short stay which we wholly enjoyed. The dining sun room was our favorite.
It’s been hard to feel safe traveling during covid so staying closer to home was important to us. Brad and his family’s home was perfectly suited to our needs. It was within walking distance to strolls on the beach, views of the water from the decks, and was very pet friendly for our two dogs. It was also very clean, well-appointed and comfortable with ample room for our family of 4. My teens loved having the separate apartment area for hanging out. Would definitely book again.
My family loved our stay at this home. Great location with a beautiful view of the water, especially from the top deck. We liked having the in-laws suite so my parents had their own little space. We cooked all of our meals at the house and found the kitchen to have all of the necessary tools. Brad was easy to communicate with and helpful during the whole process.
We loved our stay - and the house was better than we expected. We loved the layout for two families with small children. The in law suite allowed us to have separate areas and then was connected to the main house from the inside for us to enjoy time together. The location on the north end of the beach was nice and private.
Enjoyed being on the "quiet end " of Avalon which left the beaches, even on the weekend. very uncrowded. Very dog friendly house with a fenced yard. The owners were a delight to work with and very responsive to questions.
We are a family of 5 and had a wonderful stay at this property. It is spacious, well equipped, very comfortable and pet friendly.
We're looking forward to our next stay here!
We've been renters in Avalon for (off and on) more than 30 years, and this is among our favorites ever. Superb location at the northern end of the island - very quiet neighborhood. Lovely view of the ocean esp. from the top deck of the house. And the house was outstandingly clean and comfortable. Relatives of ours were renting elsewhere in Avalon during the same week, and when they saw our place they were eager to find out about renting it next year. Very hard to think of anything to improve. And yes, dog friendly.
