About this property

Get some R&R at The Space Between

Welcome to The Space Between, a wonderful cabin in Wardensville, WV where you can escape the city, suburbs, traffic and noise to relax and reconnect. A large 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin on over 5 acres. 8 minute drive to downtown Wardensville, central to Lost River, Baker, 40 minutes from Winchester, 2 hours from DC.

The Space Between embodies its name as it lies between two worlds; that of the urban environment and that of the wilderness. Inside the walls lies a dreamy getaway from close quartered city living, while sacrificing none of the creature comforts we’ve come to rely on. The great room has plenty of space for games and creative play, while also serving as a prime location to cuddle up and watch a movie as the fireplace roars.

Great Room:
The great room has plenty of space for games and creative play, while also serving as a prime location to cuddle up and watch a movie as the fireplace roars. There are 2 play couches that can double as beds (or forts, or slides) as needed.

Kitchen & Dining:
The updated kitchen is a chefs dream with amble space to prep, cook and enjoy delicious meals. The island has four adjustable bar stools and the dining room table can seat up to 6 comfortably. Rounding out the main level is a large screened in porch off the kitchen. This room has some chairs and allows visitors to enjoy the fresh air, but not be subject to the harsher elements. This can also be used for an outdoor/indoor dining space if you choose.

Bathrooms:
There are two fully remodeled bathrooms, one off the kitchen and another in the master bedroom suite. We also have a kid’s training potty and stepstool for our preschool guests. The master bath has double sinks and vanities, a clawfoot tub and large walk-in shower with stone flooring.

Bedrooms:
The main floor has a large guest bedroom with a full over full bunkbed. There is also a secretary desk and space available in the closet for clothes.

The primary suite has space galore in this room as we’ve turned it into a bedroom and office space - with room to spare. The primary suite also has a private bathroom. French doors open to a small sitting porch with a table and chairs.

Behind the upstairs loft area is the third bedroom; this one is by far the largest in the house. There are two twin beds and another sleeper sofa in this bedroom. We also have a queen-sized blowup mattress that can fit comfortably in this space. The majority of the room is wide open – providing a great deal of space for the kids to play.

We provide king size sheets for the primary suite. We also provide blankets and pillows. Please bring sheets for any other beds you will be using.  If you need extra sleeping space, there are 2 futon beds in the loft, a queen size air mattress, the play couches, and the couch.  We calculated that the cabin can sleep 13 if you’re up for being cozy.

Loft:
The upstairs is a child’s wonderland! In the loft area we’ve setup toys and books for kids with a comfortable sleeper sofa covered in pillows. Imagine sitting in the great room reading a book or working on a puzzle while your littles enjoy an area to themselves to do similar.

Outside:
Once you step outside the house, nature awaits. Steps from the back door is a rock patio with a built in pond – home to three Koi fish, frogs and dragon flies. In the cabinet on the screened in porch there is fish food if you’d like to toss some pellets in. (no more than ten/day please) Beside the pond is a large firepit and seating area for you to enjoy. Hot dog roasting or smore making are highly encouraged. Perhaps sitting still and looking at nature isn’t your thing? If so, the front yard is spacious enough to play ball or just run around and take turns on the tire swing. The area around and beside the garage is fully-fenced so you can let your dogs wander in a controlled area to do their business. In front of the garage we have a basketball hoop and you’re welcome to adjust it as necessary and play.

The house sits on 6 mostly wooded acres. There are vehicle paths running throughout the property and you’re free to roam and explore as you want. Be sure to wear bug spray – because with the woods, comes wildlife and ticks.

We can't wait for you to enjoy the Space Between!

I can not say enough about this property! Every part from the outside to the inside far exceeded our expectations. We will certainly be staying here again if our travels lead us back to Lost River.

Perfect Little Getaway
Check in process was easy and clean up/checkout was a breeze. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway to the mountains with the little towns nearby. The owner was helpful in every way possible. Everything was great!

Quiet weekend getaway!
Jason was very helpful and attentive to our needs during our stay in his beautiful home. The property is quiet and peaceful. We saw birds, squirrels and some frogs in the small pond on the property. There's not much to do in the town of Wardensville, but the people seem real and genuine. Would recommend staying here to those looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway.

My wife and I purchased this lovely property in May of 2022 and have been enjoying the area on weekends and school breaks since. We live in the DC Metro area and wanted a place where we could let the kids run around without constant concern for traffic and other issues.

Why they chose this property

From the moment you turn off route 55 onto the driveway you'll understand why this property. It's beautiful, tranquil and offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city - without foregoing any amenities we've grown accustomed to.

What makes this property unique

There's a firepit alongside a koi pond, ACRES to explore in the woods and great places for the kids to explore and gain some independence.
