Lovely Lake Cottage with Great Views

Rock House is a charming lake house on a large, water-front lot with beautiful views of Lake Michigan. The beach is down a bluff, where you take stairs or motorized trams, which were pretty cool. The beach is sandy and you can walk for a very long way, if interested. We had a great time and highly recommend the property.

Trip was overall great! The property was nice and conveniently located. Beach was beautiful and not crowded. The only downsides were that all the windows in the upstairs bedroom didn’t have screens so we couldn’t open them on cool nights without bugs getting in! The grill was rusty, and there was construction happening right across the street.

This home has everything you are looking for in a rental- we rented it for the large enclosed yard for our two dogs, privacy (lots of room between this home and the neighbors), within minutes of the beach (2 min walk and a tram ride down!), and the open floor plan. The home has everything you need- even a shower in the yard to get the sand off before heading inside. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the spacious deck with incredible views of Lake Michigan and watching the sunset from the front of the home. It’s not often that homes this great are open to having pets join their families on getaways- we will most definitely be coming back!!

Beautiful location just minutes from Downtown South Haven

We had our family at the house and all of us are adults. Wonderful view of lake from top of cliff. Sunets are worth planning for as well.The hosts make it real eady to access the private beach by using the member-only trams down the clift. We brought all of our beach gerar and paddles boards - no problem.The house has a very large great room that extends into the open-area kitchen. It was great cooking, playing games and hanging out.The outside deck is also a highlight. The propane grill was easy to use as well.We brought our labradoodle and he loved it as well. Nice fenced-in yard for him.Totally recommend this location and the hosts!!!

Nice, Peaceful Stay with a Lakeview

Beautiful home and well cared for! We enjoyed the lake view from the inside large open floor plan with lots of windows. Nico loved the large, beautiful enclosed back yard. It’s convenient to have 2 bathrooms too. It would be nice to come back in the warmer months to enjoy that long front porch. The owners were very accommodating and responded quickly. We visited all 3 restaurants they recommended. Great food! Highly recommend this home!!!

Being relatively local, we’ve stayed up and down SW MI lakeshore. This was a great location to explore both South Haven & Saugatuck. Nice walkable neighborhood with some of the best views around. The yard space and proximity to beachfront at this property is really unbeatable compared to other lakefront rentals in this price range and beyond, not to mention the dog friendly aspect. There is a multi story home directly behind this one that luckily was empty while we were there but I can see how that may be the only negative if occupied privacy wise. I do think that the open front lot to the lake makes up for it. It can be tough to find lake access without the accompanying stair climber, the tram worked great for everyone. The beach was larger than expected with lots of room to spread out, but definitely utilized by renters and locals alike. Great rock hunting (bring your water shoes!). Home was well stocked, including dog bowls. It was clean, and functional. Evening smores at the fire pit, stargazing, and my 6 year old and her collie running through the yard at sunset are some of the core memories we’ll take with us. We like to explore different neighborhoods, but this property is a gem worth returning to.

My family and I had a great stay. Besides the great view of Lake Michigan, the home met all of our needs and then some. The amenities and communication with owners were top notch! We hope to be back soon!

We loved the location of this home! Just a few short steps to the tram which takes you down to the most peaceful and beautiful beach! We loved spending time on the lake, and also appreciated the proximity to town. The home and kitchen had all we needed for a comfortable stay. Bonus points for the fenced in yard for our dog!

Great Summer Getaway

Beautiful property, steps from the beach and close to South Haven. Spent LDW here with my family, and we had a great relaxing time. Property is spacious yet cozy, with great amenities and perfectly located. Will be staying here again!
