Great sunset views, nice beach, combination of beach sun, grass shade and loved the hammock! Hosts were welcoming and gracious and provided helpful information on enjoying the area.
The place was very nice. Right on the lake. The beach was clean and the dock was nice to sit out on at night. The hosts were excellent and very informative.
Had a great time in this part of Michigan with beautiful lakes and rivers. Jess and Pam are easy going, friendly people with a wealth of knowledge on the area.
We spent a week and just returned today. There are so many things to see and do and Burt Lake is BEAUTIFUL. Jess and Pam were super hosts and replied to any questions we had immediately. We really enjoyed our stay and conversations with Jess and Pam.
We loved staying at Jess & Pam’s! The apartment above the garage was clean and comfortable, with everything we could have needed. The view of the lake and fall colors were beautiful! And Indian River is the perfect distance to enjoy the bigger tourist sites while still being able to get away from the hustle and bustle of it all. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone!
The Guesthouse was exactly as listed on VRBO. The place is very clean. Jess and Pam were very helpful on things to do in the area. We will definitely stay here again..
The guest house was perfect for two people! It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed! We loved the quiet neighborhood with all the hiking trails that were nearby. The best part though was the lake. Absolutely beautiful!
Perfect small apartment right on the lake. Love the lake and Indian River. The hosts, Jess and Pam, are just great, friendly and helpful and fun to hike or bike with. Had a fabulous time and look forward to returning. Thanks so much!
From cleanliness to a welcoming warm greeting from our hosts it is always our favorite time of year. Wineries, boat rides, miniature golf and fine dining are only a short distance away. This is our third visit and plan to return every year
I couldn't have picked a better place to unwind. Jess and Pam have a beautiful place and were always helpful if needed. Everything was very clean and I felt very welcomed and right at home. I could hear the waves at night and the birds chirping in the morning. I really enjoyed my time there and would love to stay again.
The lake itself was the best; clean, picturesque and sandy-bottomed for a long ways out. Perfect for swimming and boating. Enjoyed beautiful sunsets. The guesthouse itself was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed opening the windows for a nice cross breeze but air conditioning was an option had I needed it. The only drawback was that you had to climb up and down a flight of stairs. The hosts were wonderful - they were consistently cheerful and helpful but not intrusive on my vacation experience at all.
We had a wonderful stay on Burt lake. Beautiful sunsets on a private dock less than a minute walk from our cozy, comfortable private room that has all the comforts of home. All our needs are anticipated, so that all we needed to do was relax and investigate the small towns around the Burt Lake area or enjoy the water. There are multiple choices to fish on the lakes in the surrounding area. We also visited Mackinaw City because we were so close. Our Hosts were extremely accommodating. Definitely the best deal in the area if you want beach access and still be close to places to eat and shop. Multiple opportunities to enjoy the water from navigating the river or enjoying the connected lakes. Excellent time.

Beautiful place to stay!
The property was just as displayed in photos and had everything we needed. The hosts were very nice and helpful. The waves on Burt and Mullett Lake were a little big for our 18ft bow rider boat so if you are planning to bring a boat I would check the wind and weather first if possible. The property itself is very beautiful and the peaceful quiet beach is great for sunsets. Just a side note - WiFi is limited availability. It didn’t affect our stay because I have unlimited data on my phone but if you were planning to do any streaming or work from there... it might not be a good fit.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our Burt Lake guesthouse. You are absolutely correct in your comments. Burt Lake is a big lake (35 miles around) and sometimes the lake can seem more like an ocean. Other times it can turn to glass. This is what makes the lake so special. As stated, our wifi is quite limited, and definitely not for streaming. However, we are within range of both the AT&T and Verizon towers, so smartphones from these companies will provide unlimited access to the internet.
My husband and I spent a wonderful week at Jess and Pam's guesthouse. The apartment was a perfect size for 2 people and included everything we needed to feel at home for the week. Jess and Pam were very kind and helpful - they provided ideas for day trips, scenic drives, hiking trips and local restaurants. Their property was extremely clean and comfortable, the location was quiet, the neighbors were friendly, and the sunsets were breathtaking. Mackinac Island is just a short drive (and ferry trip) from the guesthouse as well as the Tunnel of Trees, Wilderness State Park, and Hartwick Pines. Jess gave us many great ideas for local hikes and even for specific trails to look for in the parks we visited. We were also able to spend a day in the UP, visiting Tahquamenon Falls and the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. I highly recommend the Miller's guesthouse whether you are wanting to use it as a home base for further travel, to visit a few local areas of interest, or to simply relax and enjoy their property.

Thanks for your kind words. It’s always a pleasure to host those who truly appreciate what we have to offer.
This was our first trip to Indian River Michigan, and based on our experience, this will definitely not be our last trip! When we arrived we found the guest house was exactly as it had been described and was actually much more beautiful than the pictures showed! Everything was newly updated, clean, and the amenities were well stocked. Jess and Pam were both very friendly and made sure our stay was perfect. The beach area was immaculate and the dock provided a place to soak in the sun as well as several stunning sunsets! If you love Petoskey stones, you won’t be disappointed! Burt Lake has as many treasures as any other areas in northern Michigan. We ate at The Thirsty Sturgeon in Wolvernie and Michael’s in Indian River and both were fantastic! Drost’s chocolates (get the turtles!) was also a local favorite. The Cross in the Woods is a must-see when you visit and it is free! We also ventured to the Upper Peninsula and did the Train & Riverboat Tour our of Soo Junction. If you go to Mackinac City, Dixie Saloon had great food! There was not one thing about our stay at the Miller’s Burt Lake guesthouse we would’ve changed! The property was peaceful and beautiful, the lake was beautiful and Jess and Pam are the best hosts we’ve met on our trips! We can’t wait to book another visit to Indian River!!!! Thank you for sharing your hearts and home with us! Mike and Susie from Ohio

Thank you for your very kind words. So glad you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to seeing you again.
The hosts were kind and provided us with lots of information about the area’s restaurants, activities etc. The apartment was very clean. The beach area was wonderful, but was shared with the hosts.
Enjoyed the lake and the surrounding nature trails. Great opportunities to enjoy the lake, hiking, and bike riding. Jess and Pam are unbelievably nice and accommodating. Definitely would go back.
Your hosts are Jess and Pam Miller. We have been hosting guests on Burt Lake since 1992. We take pride in offering a quality accomodation with a safe sandy beach and a stunning view. We guarantee that what we offer our guests is exactly what we would expect for ourselves.
We have traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. We know how important it is to have friendly, informative hosts, who offer a clean, high quality accomodation. We have also learned that a relaxing vacation is often the result of settling in at one place for a whole week, and exploring all there is to do in that one area.
If you stay with us at our Burt Lake Guesthouse, we will offer you as much personal contact as you are comfortable with. We will be happy to offer suggestions on what to do, where to eat, and how to make the most of your entire vacation.
Our areas of special interest include kayaking, sailing, mountain-biking, bicycle touring, and hiking. We are very familiar with northern Michigan, including many of the 'off the beaten track' places, that might not be mentioned in the tourist brochures.
So if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation in an area that offers stunning natural beauty, then perhaps we can help you. You should realize that over the past 22 years, our Burt Lake guesthouse is usually completely booked for June, July, and August. If you plan to reserve a week with us, we recommend that you do so as early as possible in the Spring. Many of our guests return year after year, and those who have stayed with us before tend to book early.
If you want a really peaceful vacation, try visiting us in September after most of the tourists have gone home. The weather is delightful and the water is still warm. Or perhaps you might be looking for some fall color. If that is the case, try a visit in late September or early October.
What makes this property unique
This is the perfect property for just two people. The beach is among the best on Burt Lake. The sunsets are stunning. The accommodation is clean and modern. The price, quality, and location all add up to a great value.
