Great week stay at the cabin. The location is amazing as you have access to the trails right from the cabin. Would love to return during warmer months to enjoy the River.
Peaceful and beautiful spot for a family gathering! Had everything we needed. Gorgeous location. Loved the nearby trail and river view. Thank you!

Very nice house; fit our family well.
BBQ grill was out of propane which was disappointing, but that’s the only negative. Our family had a great weekend!

Hi Carol Ann,
Thank you for your compliments, and we love hearing how much you had a great stay with us. We do apologize for the issue you encountered with the empty propane tank and wish we had known at the time so we could have addressed it by bringing a replacement over.
Thank you,
Chris & Erin
host did not respond to my messages promptly, hot tub was cold, heating element was broken and the filter was filthy and full of sludge, the cabin was freezing cold when we arrived and took 8 hours to warm to room temperature. the heater would run for about 45 minutes and then stop and go into defrost mode for about 15 minutes and then start again. we also woke up to a huge water leak the next morning after the shower upstairs leaked down to the living area. So we had to round up pots to put under the leaks and leave them out the entire stay. we were never able to use the hot tub. when i finally heard back from Chris (the owner) he told me that he had ordered the new hot tub parts and was hoping they would have arrived before our stay but they didnt, which tells me that he knew it was broken and chose not to tell us!

I’m sorry this stay didn’t meet expectations.
We always encourage guests to reach out during their stay so we can address any issues promptly. In this case, several of the concerns noted here were shared after checkout, which limited our ability to resolve them at the time.
Regarding the hot tub, the issue had been diagnosed in advance and we were advised the replacement part would arrive in time. Unfortunately, an unexpected shipping delay and vendor miscommunication meant the repair wasn’t completed as planned, which was disappointing for us as well. Once it was clear it wouldn’t be resolved during the stay, we issued a partial refund to acknowledge the inconvenience.
We take maintenance and guest experience seriously and are proactive about addressing issues as they arise. While we regret this wasn’t the right fit, we appreciate the feedback and continue to make improvements.

Cozy cabin in a great location. All the amenities you need. Owners responsive and friendly. Especially loved the small reading nook upstairs, fenced yard, well-stocked kitchen, and electric fireplaces in the bedrooms. The log furniture and cabin decor all fit well. Would have given 5 Stars except for the extremely steep stairs in need of continuous handrails easier to grab onto.
We spent a wonderful relaxing week here with our dog. The location and view can't be beat. We went for walks on the trails that start right from the driveway every day; they lead to amazing swimming holes where we all had a blast. We enjoyed sitting on the various decks listening to and watching the birds, which were the only sounds for miles. The views of the river were spectacular. The house itself was really comfortable, with a great main bedroom with balcony, a nice kitchen, good wifi, and a Roku set up for guest access. We definitely plan to come back again!
We had an incredible time. The snow was absolutely gorgeous. The house was cozy and spotless. It's obvious that the owners take great pride in this property. Everything looks brand new! I appreciated all of the seasonings and coffee extras left for us, as well as laundry soap and good hand soap. It was quiet, serene, and all of the blankets (and beds) were extremely comfortable. I can't wait to come back in the summer!
Overall, this was a nice place to spend our week near Sunriver. We enjoyed the property's viewing deck just above the river. The hot tub was wonderful, but the new location was disappointing and not scenic or even very nice. There's no place for towels, robes, etc. The cabin and surroundings are agreeable but items were lacking - bedding, places to hang wet towels, bath mats, first aid kit, pump for the basketball that was flat...and some annoyances - the dishwasher was tipping out of its space under the counter (which was quickly repaired). The shower curtains are a nightmare to close and one has several rings ripped out from past efforts to get the rings to budge. The shower curtain downstairs should be replaced and the floor cleaned around the edges. This brings me to the other grubby unpleasantries. Dog hair, clogged tub drain, pillow shams and bed skirts clearly not washed for however long was just uncomfortable, and the kitchen needs a good scrub.
The river and hiking was lovely despite the smoke from the forest fires. Not sure I'd stay at this exact cabin again though.
What a find! This home is perfectly located at the end of a quiet road, next to trails and the beautiful Deschutes River. Our group consisted of myself, my husband, our two kids (19 and 21), my son's girlfriend (19), briefly, my nephew (19), and our two dogs. There was so much to do (or not do!) that everyone kept themselves entertained as much or as little as they wanted. We could easily hike, bike, or take the provided kayaks down to the water, which we did a few times. While the interior of the home is quite comfortable, I think we spent most of our time outside on the deck, enjoying the beautiful view and the soothing sounds of nature. Couldn't have asked for a better rental. The owners of the property were great with their communication with us before and during our stay.
The home had everything we needed: plenty of kitchen items/gadgets, towels, games, bedding, etc. I can't speak for the other beds, but the master bedroom upstairs had perhaps the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! May need to inquire about the brand because I think I need one in MY home. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. TVs in all the bedrooms/living room. The stairs leading up to the second floor are rather steep, but thankfully my knees/ankles haven't rebelled against me yet so it wasn't a problem. =)
All in all, it was a wonderful week in a beautiful place, and we would rent it again in a heartbeat!
Well stocked house in a prime location. We had everything we needed for our group that included 3 kids under 10 and our pup. We enjoyed daily walks on maintained trails, fishing in the river, roasting marshmallows and playing games (old school Pacman, Sorry, chess). We recommend buying groceries in Sunriver to cook at the house or eating at the Village Bar and Grill. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Beautiful view, close to activities:). Loved having kayaks to use:). Comfortable house that is well stocked:). Considerate property owners who try to listen to their guests and constantly work on property improvements.
Great relaxing family friendly vacation rental house
House was great, the kids loved exploring the yard/neighborhood, and the hot tub overlooking the Deschutes river was very relaxing (both in the evening and morning).
We had an amazing time at the beautiful home by the lake. The amenities were spot on and The rustic feel of a cabin made our stay even more pleasurable. I would highly recommend.
We spent three nights at "The Cabin at River Trails" and it didn't disappoint. The home was cozy, warm from the fire, comfortable furniture, a full kitchen and great bedroom and bathroom separation for each of the couples that stayed there.
The setting looks over the Deschutes River. We watched geese make a perfect landing on the water as endless birds were singing in the trees above. We took off on long walks on the trails that lead up to the house and took you to other points on the river.
Chris and Erin also provided an outdoor chess set (I lost big time!) and a comfortable hot tub that looked over the spectacular view. Though the temperatures were on the cold side, we enjoyed the outdoors.
Chris was very responsive to various questions or comments we had while we were there. That was reassuring and enabled us to enjoy ourself in their home.
If we come back this way and the home is available, we would stay again. Thanks again for everything, Chris and Erin. You are great hosts and we appreciate having this time away in your home.
Gwen
We had a beautiful time! Just everything was so perfect!
The only problem we had was the master bedroom sheets weren't clean. I think the guests before us must have made the bed before leaving so the cleaning staff believed it was unused. Good thing there is a washer and dryer! It was a minor inconvenience for such a spectacular vacation!
Also, Google maps is wrong. It wants you to off roading when there is a perfectly good maintained road up to the house. Look for the actual street name, don't trust Google!
The house was beautiful, only minus part was GPS told us to go the wrong way so we got a bit lost for second, also the neighbors were closer than thought but over all was a great time and would come back!
