About this property

Big Bear Ranch House

Relax with family and friends in a peaceful setting in the foothills outside of Yakima. Large great room for sitting back in front of the stove after a fun day of skiing, hiking, fishing or kayaking in the nearby rivers and mountains. Sit in the private hot tub at the end of the day. A canal road out of the back for beautiful walks with your dog.
The space
Large master bedroom and full bath, additional full bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms on the second floor. Wood stove in the front room and propane stove in the great room for cold winter nights, after a great day skiing at White Pass, or cross-country skiing or snow shoeing out the back door. Secluded patio with lawn furniture and BBQ for enjoying the outdoors or stay inside and the floor to ceiling windows of the great room
allow you to feel you are outside.
Guest access
Entire house.
Other things to note
The property is very safe, gated at the dead end of the road, surrounded by hills and orchards. It feels very far out, but is only 20 minutes to downtown Yakima. Far enough away from the city streets and noises of town - gives you an option, 45 minutes to the ski resort, hiking, fishing and floating the river, or into town for fine dining. A great place to unwind. The hot tub is amazing, very private with only birds and an occasional rabbit. Your only neighbor is the owner's home on the other side of the property, which is also for rent when they are gone in the winter.

Will not return
We will not return. There is no bathroom upstairs. The drains were clogged. The coffee grinder was jammed with fine coffee and broken. Hot tub was cold on arrival. Usually, check-in times are 11:00. This one is 4 PM. So you rented the place for 1/2 day short. Read the fine print, the owner is a stickler on check-in time.

Perfect getaway near Yakima
This place was magical. Beautiful property, and the drive in through orchards is just gorgeous. We were there for State dance competition, so didn't have lingering time to enjoy the hot tub (which was clean and beautiful), but the cabin has everything you need to make great meals, relax and enjoy the surroundings. Very comfortable and clean.

Beautiful and peaceful
We stayed at the Big Bear Ranch House for a weekend to get away from the city and relax for a few days and we couldn’t be happier with this place. Susie was also an amazing host. She definitely made it feel like home for us.

Wonderful getaway
Our stay at the big bear ranch house was a lovely getaway. It was a lovely place to unwind and let the dogs play in the yard. The house was roomy and a cozy place to kick up our feet.
