At the beginning of the 20th century, La Condesa or Hipódromo Condesa was a fashionable neighborhood, preferred by the artistic upper class, but in the 1970s, they began to abandon it for more elegant neighborhoods. Like the gentrification pattern of many places, the low-cost rents and beautiful architecture of its affluent past made it attractive to artists and creatives, prompting a comeback in the area. Today, La Condesa is a vibrant mix of Art Deco mansions and expansive parks, where you will find restaurants, bars, cafes, and boutiques.
