Absolutely fabulous location. So close to the beach, Fishermans Wharf, and Cannery Row. Great restaurants and fabulous antique shops. Home was comfortable and quiet.
This house was perfect for our girls weekend! The rooms were clean. The hot tub was amazing! The house was close to the freeway too! We would definitely stay again!
This location was perfect for getting to all the beautiful places around Monterey. This house is cute, has a great outdoor space and just what we needed to wind down at the end of busy/funfilled days!

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. We’d like to clarify that all of the photos in our listing were taken this year and accurately reflect the property as it is today.
Regarding the neighborhood, it’s a safe, working-class community located in a designated green zone — meaning it has a low crime rate. The home is just one block from downtown and only a few blocks from the ocean, offering one of the most convenient and desirable locations in the area.
Regarding the issues you experienced during your stay, your only complaints were that you wanted more towels and that you couldn’t find a can opener. We provide four towels out for guest use, with many more stocked in the drawers. A can opener is also provided in the kitchen. We’re always happy to help — a quick message during your stay and we would have been glad to direct you to these items.
We take pride in both our home and our hospitality, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify these details for future guests.
Overall, the visit was not bad but not as high quality as expected. The location is close to Monterey and Carmel and there are many fast food/franchise chains nearby, as well as a grocery store within 10 minutes of the unit. The host was communicative and we were able to check in earlier than expected which was really nice. The highlights of the unit are the kitchen which was updated and the large TV that can connect to Netflix (we had trouble getting it to connect to other apps). There is also an outdoor area with an above ground hot tub.The things that did not meet expectations include the overall quality of the furniture and decor, and the interior of the home had issues such as holes in the wall or unpainted patched holes, a dent in the door, curtain rods that look like they’re about to fall, base board chipping off, and a rusty bathroom light fixture. Also, the surrounding neighborhood is not the nicest in terms of aesthetics, especially when walking around. For the price we expected a slightly higher quality experience in terms of furniture, decor, neighborhood, and comfort, but the stay was okay overall.

I appreciate that you brought a few of these things to my attention privately during your stay — and to clarify, everything you mentioned was addressed promptly afterward. Some of what you noted really comes down to personal taste; our décor and furnishings have received plenty of compliments from other guests, but everyone’s style preferences are different.
As for the TV, I did let you know you were welcome to download and sign into any of your own streaming apps in addition to Netflix. And while there are indeed fast food options nearby, there’s also a Michelin-starred restaurant even closer — just depends on what you’re looking for.
