Sunset Landing with ocean view & hot tub

This beautiful modern home sits on one acre of land, facing the Pacific Ocean and has beautiful water and sunset views. The main floor has a high open beam ceiling, dining and living room, white oak wood floor, big gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and commerical gas cook top and double oven, half bath, open floor plan, large deck with ocean and sunset views and big table and new BBQ.
The master bedroom has a new king bed and an electric fireplace, the second bedroom has one queen and one single bed and there is a double bed in TV room.
There is a separate outdoor spa area with privacy, ocean and sunset view, large hot tub and enclosed outdoor shower with on demand hot water.

The house is in a quiet location where you can hear the waves and the sea lions. There is great walking and hiking in Big Sur and directly from the house; shopping and dining in Carmel,only 10 minutes away. Whale watching along the coast or take tour from Monterey Harbor.
The world famous Monterey Aquarium is 20 minutes, Monterey airport 15 minutes, San Jose airport 1 1/2 hours and San Francisco 2 hours.
Hearst Castle is 2 hours south; Highlands Inn Hotel with oceanview restaurant is 2 minutes away.

Great location, ideal for a romantic getaway, fun to share with another couple or for a small family, or small family gathering or for local events.

Retreat setting with peace and quiet, ocean and sunset views and hot tub.

What an amazing place! We especially loved the view from the deck and all the flowers. The house is very clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. It is also in the perfect location to visit the Point Lobos Reserve, Big Sur and Carmel/Monterey.

The home was exactly what I would want for an 4 night stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with lots for cooking and extras like spices and olive oil and other goodies. The house was clean and easily accessible for unloading the car. The deck was spacious and the view of the ocean spectacular. The jacuzzi was well maintained and had good instructions and even had lights, robes, a shower, and perfect size and temperature ... and the best view of the stars at night. All the way thru the process the host was helpful and communicative and very easy to handle my needs. Loved the remote setting for this home. Very quiet. Great value for the comparables I saw for other places in Carmel. Thank you Karin!

Absolutely beautiful home! We loved the well-stocked kitchen with all the necessary supplies and high-end appliances. Anything you might look for in your own kitchen, you would find here! Beautiful view in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Note that the bedrooms are on a lower level and she asks that you not roll your suitcases in the house. If you would have trouble carrying your suitcase through the house and down stairs, this would not be a good fit for you. Note that the half bath is on the upper level at the opposite end of the house from the bedrooms (on the lower level). This home was perfect for our family of four! There is, however, effectively only one bathroom easily accessible when getting ready, only one shower, etc. so just keep that on you radar depending on the needs of your group. Lovely stay!

Thank you for your review. I only ask that suitcases not be dragged down over the oak wood stairway. If guests can lift them, and most do, not a problem. In my description it is clear that there is a full bath downstairs with the bedrooms and a half bath upstairs . Many guests also enjoy the private hot shower in the spa area outside. This was a group of several women staying.

I have been living on this property in the Carmel Highlands for over 30 years. I love the views out to the ocean; the sunsets are amazing and even more so, I love watching the moon set and reflect on the ocean. It is a quiet and peaceful retreat to come back to.

Why they chose this property

This property is in a quiet and serene setting just minutes south of Carmel and on the coast. You can walk from the house to the ocean and do a 60 minute loop. No ocean or beach access. Monastery beach is on the way to town with a level walking path to the Carmel River mouth. Walking on the white sand beach of Carmel is only a 15 minute drive away.
Whale watching during whale season from the house and the coast highway.
Owner/caretaker on the property living in a cottage with separate entrance. House, Spa and deck are very private.

What makes this property unique

The spa area is totally private and seperate from the house. There is a large hot tub, chase lounges, sun umbrella and changing area. Ideal for rest and relaxation, a glass of wine, sun bathing, napping or watching the stars and the moon.
