We arrived for a chilly damp Thanksgiving week and the house was snug and warm. No drafty windows or damp basement. The games in the basement were hilariously fun. The kitchen wes
Home was perfect for our trip to Iowa football game -- approximately 40 mn to stadium. With convenience to grocery shopping and dining. We enjoyed the space for all of us -- 4 bedrooms and comfortable beds!Appreciated abundance of towels!A little more seating in TV space would've been nice, and a quick check of nooks and crannies for dust and dirt and clean up were the only minor issues.Overall, would recommend and would stay here again!
This was everything we needed for our stay! Spacious, clean, and updated! Didn't spend much time at the house because of other activities on the trip but would have been a great place to also hang out and unwind. Great parking, safe and quiet neighborhood. Would definitely come back!
When we first arrived we found a large pile of dog poop on the balcony of the bedroom and back deck. My husband cleaned that while I unpacked. Host was "thankful". Our 4 grown daughters said they thought they saw cockroach run up the refrigerator. I told them they were probably mistaken and not to jump to conclusions. The next morning two girls said their linens were not washed and that they slept on top of the bed with some blankets we brought with. I washed the linens and reported to host without response. They also informed me of several sightings of German cockroaches that night with pictures of live cockroaches and dead ones in traps in the cupboards. I contacted the host. She was not able to get an exterminator to the house until the next day. We threw out any open food we had brought with and put the rest of our food back in the car. The next morning we decided to go to another VRBO. VRBO was notified immediately. Host was unresponsive for several days. Host said nobody else has complained. Though I can't speak for other guests, we planned on using the kitchen over the week and did not want to take cockroaches home with us. Eating out every meal for the week was not sustainable for our family. I think this is a beautiful house that is in need of some TLC. If you just need somewhere to lie your head for an event in the area and don't plan on using the kitchen or shower, this is a convenient place to stay.
The house was beautiful with the staircase and woodwork. There was plenty of space with comfy beds and good sized bedrooms. The backyard was a very relaxing space. I would definitely stay there again. The property manager was easy to get in touch with if necessary.
Staying in this beautiful, historic home was such a treat. Our family of 5 loved this house and we were very sad to leave! It was clean and spacious with very comfortable beds and the hosts were super responsive. The game room was an added fun bonus. It is also super convenient to charming downtown Marion. This home will be our first choice the next time we come back to visit family.
We enjoyed our stay, the beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed the outside space as well. Hosts were very flexible as we needed a late checkout to accommodate a late baseball game. I would recommend the cleaners pay special attention to the ceiling fans as they were dusty so we couldn’t use many of them.
Interior was huge, perfect for all 10 of us. Great style and perfect parking situation. The back deck is spacious and excellent for hanging out. Only drawback was no sheets for the two basement cots. I’d recommend a friend to stay here for sure.
Well kept older home. Very clean and comfortable. Easy door access. Garage was great with the snow. Close to cute coffee shops and great antiquing. Cute game room in basement.
This worked well for our family while we attended a wedding in Cedar Rapids. The location was excellent as Marion has some great restaurants and cute shops. All walkable. The back deck was one of our favorite places to hang out and the parking worked well too. (As a carpenter's wife, I did notice some needs for improvement in the finishes, but did not affect our stay.)
