Excellent Location

Very comfortable, great location. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the waves. It was easy to park on site, and the walk to the shopping/dining area in the harbor was easy.

Disappointing Unit

It was nighttime when we checked into the unit for our 3 week stay. Daylight revealed dirty and stained carpeting in the living room and bedroom. We attempted to reach the property manager several times but could only leave a message. On the 4th call someone finally answered and my husband informed them that the carpet was filthy and totally unacceptable. The person said they would arrange for the carpet to be cleaned. 3 days later they called to say that the carpets would be cleaned in 2 more days. We had expected a carpet cleaning company, but only a husband and wife team showed up, with a non-commercial cleaner. They worked diligently and removed most of the major stains, but the carpet was still dark and dingy. The unit as a whole was also dark and dim, with only one lamp in the living room, and two small light bulbs in the ceiling fixture. The dining table was located in a dim corner with no overhead lighting, so we ate all our meals at the kitchen area bar. The kitchen was fairly well-equipped, but lacked several essential items which we purchased. We "gifted" the unit a glass baking dish so we could cook in the microwave, and also bought several oven hot pads. The bedroom was very small and lacked a dresser. The clothing that could not be hung up in the closet had to remain in our suitcases on the closet floor. The windows lacked any sort of curtain or shades, and the bedroom remained lit at night due to the outside lighting. We would not reccomend this unit.

Christmas visit

Unit was below average at best. Pro’s: good location, (side) view of ocean, nice condo complex. Con’s: carpet is seriously dirty, stains everywhere, musty smell - really needed replacing. Minimum kitchen supplies (pots pans, plates - etc), one of the plates had been glued back together, drywall coming apart in bathroom, mold in shower, bed had serious crown in center so you felt like you would roll off either side. Stains on walls and mirror in bedroom. We didn’t have a lot of choices as we booked late and it was the holidays. We liked Kona Reef but would not stay in this unit again.

Great Location

The check-in process was smooth, and it was easy to find parking. The location and views of the ocean are great. Short walk to downtown Kona that has many shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed the pool area to relax by the ocean and watch the sunsets.
