About this property

Strawberry Hill Farm close to Hudson, Stillwater and many great event locations

Welcome to comfort and relaxation! Exquisite rural setting in the river valley of the St Croix. Cozy up in this brand new barn apartment on our home property that is close to beautiful parks and trails and many attractions and also a half hour from the Twin Cities.
The space:
Designed with modern and well equipped spaces in mind, the entire second floor of the barn space is for our guests use including a full laundry room and fully equipped kitchen.
The Loft at Strawberry Hill provides its guests fresh towels, linens, and many other necessities such as dish soap, dishwasher/laundry tabs, shampoo etc.

Other things to note:
Balconies on both ends to enjoy beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Many trails for walking. Afton Alps resort and Afton State Park close by. Private fire pit on premises for our guests outdoor use. Great restaurants in quaint downtown Hudson 8 min. away and historic Stillwater only15 min. away.

We can sleep 6 comfortably or more depending on if the queen beds are shared. For sleeping accommodations we have the main "owners" bedroom with a queen bed, the secondary bedroom has 2 twin beds. In the living room, the sofa has a pull-out queen mattress made of quality memory foam and bedding. In addition to or if preferred, we also have a Queen size double high air mattress with built in pump and also a twin double high mattress with built in pump and all bedding. (Extra charge of $15 per night for more than 4 guests.)

Close enough drive to anything you’d need but still feels quaint and private. Owners were communicative and inviting. Everything was clean and homey. Perfect for a good weekend getaway

Country stay

Cozy and peaceful place to stay. Everything was well stocked from towels, kitchen to firewood. Very clean and host quick to respond. If you love country feel this is the place to stay. Still close to Stillwater and twin cities. We will be back next time in town.

We (3 college friends for a girls weekend) really enjoyed our stay here! Lots of little details that were appreciated for a cold November weekend of hanging out - snuggly blankets, a basket of slippers, autumn decor, and a coffee cart. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was adequately stocked and everything was very clean!

This property is gorgeous!! The owners are very accommodating and helpful! We look forward to staying here again in the future! A bonus, Everest, the cat, is so friendly, and it was fun to watch the horses and mini run in the yard & pasture! :).

Quiet getaway

We loved awaking up and seeing the horses every morning (my girls are obsessed with them) and the friendly barn cats. It was in a very quiet area but close to lots of activities. The hosts were very responsive. The kids had fun playing foosball and ping pong. We would definitely stay again.

Work Retreat

We had a small work related retreat. Great location. Nice and quiet & a special spot for quiet collaboration in the living space. We took morning walks to the beach & cooked a couple evenings. We also visited Afton, Hudson & Stillwater-all super fun. Great stay & would return for sure. A special spot for sure.

Pinterest Perfect Property

My wife and I stayed at Strawberry Farms with our daughter and her husband, and our teenage daughter. As we pulled onto the property, we were immediately impressed. Carrying our luggage into the apartment in the upper level of the barn, we were even more stunned. The interior of this two bedroom VRBO was a beautiful modern farmhouse appeal, with zero clutter. The balcony overlooked the owners horse pasture which was very well kept. The miniature horse provided entertainment as we watched it graze in the yard. And the espresso machine made my wife and daughter extremely happy.Not to mention, this property is close to downtown Hudson and Stillwater, making it a perfect place to stay for a romantic retreat or family getaway.Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful place.

We rented this property for our (5) sister weekend. This charming loft was perfectly decorated and nestled in a beautiful location. Waking up to see horses outside the living room window was great, and we loved the kitties - especially the little black and white one. Having access to the downstairs was a bonus and we appreciated being able to use that space. Thank you so much for letting us rent your loft.

Fabulous

My sister brother-in-law and myself flew in from PA for our niece's wedding in Stillwater. We originally going to stay in town. My brother found your beautiful barn for all of us to stay and all be together. It was beautiful and clean. Loved the country decor. Loved the horses, pony, cat and my brother-in-law fell in love with the kitten. I would highly recommend to anyone coming to Stllwater for vacation.

Girls Trip

Strawberry Hill Farm was perfect for our annual girls trip. The owners Jake & Abby were so accomodating. Supplying wood and starting our campfire for us when we were on our way back from our evening out in Hudson. We pulled up and the fire was going! We thought that was pretty special. The property was beautiful 😍.. loved their mini horse "Tootsie". The loft we stayed at was beautifully decorated and each girl had their own bed (3 of us!). We were able to make a pancake breakfast and had a taco/margarita night at our vacation rental! It was the BEST. Very relaxing and cozy!

The perfect little place

We rented this property for a quick moms getaway and to celebrate a 40th birthday. It was absolutely perfect and we had zero complaints. It was clean, had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, the owners got back to us right away about anything we needed, and we even got to feed the horses and the pony carrots. We had an issue with the coffee maker and Abby responded right away and had another brought over within 30 minutes. We also spent an evening out to dinner and shopping in Hudson. It was a quick taxi ride away and worked out perfectly, the property is in a great location with lots of shops and restaurants near by. I would definitely recommend and we hope to come back next year for a ski trip.

Amazing property!

Orginally we booked the barn so we were closer to Afton Alps to spend the weekend snowboarding. The weather ended up being way too cold so we spent most of our weekend at the MOA. Although this was about 30 minute drive to the mall . It was an easy drive and nice to get out of the city to relax at night. The house had everything we needed to cook and sleep comfortably. The kids found some fun games to play and we were able to stream some football games from our phone to the Apple TV, and although it is beautiful and cozy we didn’t feel like there was anything our kids could break so we weren’t quite as nervous as we have been in previous places! It really is very very family friendly Jake responded very quickly the couples times we messaged him about certain things and our kids absolutely adored the cats and horses !! We are already looking forward to a summer trip up here !! Truly we can’t recommend this place enough!!

Highly Recommend

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway, do yourself a favor and book the loft! Our family of 6 traveled 1400 miles to MN. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was how cute and clean it is! They thought of every detail when creating this space. We felt very comfortable. We were invited to use the downstairs gathering/game room, and the yard which kept the kids entertained. They looked forward to greeting and snuggling the barn cat every day, and observing the horses from the fence. Jake was very responsive to our questions, and went above and beyond as the property host. He showed us that “Minnesota nice” is a real thing, and we felt fortunate for the experience. Thank you for the fond memories of MN, and Strawberry Hill Farm!

An absolutely gorgeous location! We enjoyed peace, quiet and comfort during our stay. The location is picturesque, quaint and perfectly isolated from the hustle and bustle of the metro area that is essentially a stone's throw away. If you're looking for a relaxing and comfortable environment with all the amenities of home, you'll be hard-pressed to surpass Strawberry Hill Farm.

This place looked just like the pictures. It was quiet, and I liked the River Birches right by the deck outside the bedrooms. The front deck had big patio doors and I very much enjoyed watching the horses do their horse thing from up there. The kitchen had enough stuff to do our cooking, and it was close to the cities and Stillwater. The house is in a lovely wooded area with surprisingly few mosquitoes! My friend and I will definatly be going back next year!

Girls Weekend

Myself and a friend wanted a cozy place to have a girls weekend. This place was gorgeous and exactly what we needed. We were able to go into Hudson for dinner and also stay in the second night and just relax. The loft is perfectly decorated and has all the amenities you could want. Will definitely be back!!

We love the river valley area and the access to so many cities and attractions close by. We both grew up on the east side of MN and never want to leave!

What makes this property unique

If truly feels like you are way out in the country but without the long drive :) Quiet and serene. Nothing better than a cup of coffee on the deck and watching the sun rise. Its medicine!
