It is centrally located to downtown Stillwater, either through a beautiful historic neighborhood or along a bike/walking path along the river. At the bottom of your cottage driveway is Stillwater’s southern scenic overlook where you will get the best view of the new St. Croix Crossing Bridge into Wisconsin.

Sweeping French doors into a bedroom, a full kitchen and bar, living and dining room area and a bathroom with shower all on one level makes the cottage easily accessible and livable for short stays or an extended stay.

Louise and Martin are the greatest hosts. I doubt you will find a better listing on VRBO. It is perfectly decorated. Stillwater is an adorable town.

We throughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. It was very clean, the kitchen was very well stocked, there were extra towels and bedding, and the setting is beautiful and very relaxing. We are looking forward to returning in the near future.

I cooked quite a bit because I am not a huge fan of the Stillwater restaurant scene and found the kitchen to be incredibly well stocked for my needs. This is an extraordinary rental with a very comfortable living room and working gas fireplace, dining table and a generous host who provides everything one needs. It's a cozy place with beautiful interior design, great outdoor space and view of extensive back yard. The location is great for walking...a short walk to the trailhead of the St. Croix Valley Pathway that can be hiked or biked. We walked into town, across the two bridges that cross the St. Croix River into Wisconsin. Stillwater is a great place to have breakfast with the Oasis Cafe being the closest to this cottage. We really enjoyed our time!

Quant cottage in Stillwater

My sister and I had a very special time in this beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. Very private and very thoughtfully designed. No details left undone! Host was helpful and kind. We would stay there again!

Heavenly . . . . WOW, what a fabulous view of the gorgeous yard from the large windows of this cottage. We were totally enthralled. The cottage itself is very lovely, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Everything we needed was provided. The neighborhood is very peaceful and private. We were able to walk to Sunnyside Marina in a few minutes, and if we were a bit younger could have walked to downtown Stillwater. We would love to return to this cottage some day and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Stillwater area. Thank you very much Louise and Martin!

Gorgeous English cottage

This is an immaculate cottage decorated by the owner, who is an English interior decorator by trade. It overlooks the St Croix River. It could not have been more charming.

Celebrating 53rd Anniversay ❤️

A little piece of heaven and England in Minnesota - (from the spotlessly clean, cozy and comfortable French/English interior to the English country garden landscaping) it was absolutely perfect! Louise and Martin have thought of everything! Every piece furniture to every dish is exceptional. Every necessity is carefully supplied and maintained. A little oasis away from everything while feeling right at home! AND walkable to Stillwater - (only a mile) beautiful walking and biking paths - yummy restaurants, incredible views and a fabulous St, Croix River Valley to explore! We miss it already! Thanks to Louise and Martin for sharing their little piece of heaven with the rest of us!

Perfectly Peaceful

This stay was exactly what I needed. I am a stay-at-home mom of two rambunctious boys who booked this listing for eight nights of just-me time, and it fit the bill to a "t". I brought all the food I needed with me and chose to stay in the entire time, which I would highly recommend for a wintery stay. I brought puzzles, podcasts, and pajamas and spent my days at the kitchen table looking out at the snow and the suspension bridge going from Minnesota to Wisconsin. At night, the bridge was pleasantly alight, and the windows in the cottage were just the right size to take in the calm of it all. I loved the French doors leading into the bedroom and the experience of pulling them open in the morning to flood the room with sunshine. The decoration in the cottage is so thoughtful and well-done. My favorite touch was the choice to put stacks of coffee table books everywhere. The overall curation of the decor lent a sense of peace and order to the place that was very welcome. All in all, this was the best, most restful vacation I have ever had.

Beautifully furnished, spacious, European-style cottage in Stillwater, MN

This spotlessly clean, peaceful English-cottage-themed GEM is in the spacious (1200 sq ft), lower level walkout of a beautiful 2 &1/2 story home situated on a hill in Stillwater MN, overlooking the new St. Croix River bridge in the distance. It was the perfect romantic get-away for us, with a very short, convenient drive to downtown Stillwater which has many fun shops and restaurants, plus it is also close to the St. Croix River hiking trail. Large floor to ceiling front windows, and the front patio of this cottage provide scenic views of expansive green lawn bordered by large trees and pretty flower gardens. We especially enjoyed watching the rabbits and hummingbirds. The old-world European style interior and furnishings made us feel as if we had been transported to an authentic English cottage, although we were only 30 minutes from home. This fully-furnished rental (including washer & dryer), has lovely and comfortable furniture and is furnished with many beautiful English and Swiss items and antiques. It has a luxurious bedroom, bed, and bed linens, with everything you could want - including all the hangers you will ever need. The bathroom was well-stocked with plush bathroom towels and wonderful soaps and shampoos. Even the kitchen had English-cottage themed dishes (and all we needed to bring was our own food). We enjoyed watching DVD's while there, especially the fun selection offered for our use, and the state-of-the-art sound system. No detail was overlooked. Louise and Martin Fenner, our gracious hosts, ensured we had a wonderful, relaxing 4-day stay. This is truly a one-of-a-kind "find." We highly recommend it, and will definitely be back! The location is absolutely stunning and very quiet and peaceful. The unit is incredibly spacious, well appointed, and equipped. Easy access to the bike/walking trails. Downtown Stillwater is walkable, but it is more likely a short drive. We would like to stay here, again.

Home away.

We have enjoyed our third stay at the Cottage. The decor is delightful and the size is perfect for two! This year because of all the rain it was a bit musty smelling but not so bad we wanted to complain. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen has all the necessary items.
You feel like you’re entering another country!!

Great getaway!

Stayed here for our 20 th anniversary. Such a beautiful place! Makes you feel like you are in a French villa . Our hosts were very gracious and replied to our questions quickly. Got to speak to the neighbors and they were very nice too-gave us some great recommendations for down town. The morning patio coffee was one of our favs!! We’d stay here again.

Louise and Martin are both European and their home reflects it. Louise is from England while Martin is from Switzerland. As soon as they found this home set high on the hills overlooking the St. Croix River, Martin felt at home. It was reminiscent of his childhood home in Switzerland. Louise took great joy designing and decorating the home in a European-style familiar to both of them. Better Homes and Gardens took note when they featured the home in their magazine.

The property is in a preferred location just .8 mile south of downtown Stillwater. It is an easy drive and just a 25 minute walk. It is close to the new river walk into town. There has never been a bad review on this property. You will understand when you see the meticulous attention paid to every detail to make it a premier property and a delightful stay.
